*Called to Worship Opening Hymn Baptized in Water FWS 2248
Invocation (From Psalm 29)
Leader: The voice of the Lord is over the waters!
All: The voice of the Lord is powerful. Leader: The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
All: The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars.
Leader: The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.
All: The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness. The Lord sits enthroned
over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever.
Opening Prayer (in unison) UMH 253
God in heaven, at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan you proclaimed him your
beloved Son and anointed him with your Holy Spirit. Grant that all who are baptized
into His name may keep the covenant they have made, and boldly confess him as Lord
and Savior, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, One God, in glory ever-
lasting. Amen.

Jesus Fund Update
Thank you for your generosity to the Jesus Fund! In
December, 2015, donations totaled $630 and assisted
19 families, including 23 adults and 60 children. In-
cluded in the donation total are 41 $10 gift cards from
Matthew 25 funds. The average December disburse-
ment per person was $7.47 and all was for food. We
continue to operate with very few surplus funds. All
help is greatly appreciated.
Birthday Luncheon
TODAY!!
This Sunday, January 10,
St. Luke’s will be celebrat-
ing everyone’s birthday with a Birth-
day Luncheon following the second
service! Come join the party!
Human Relations Day
Sunday, January 17, is Human
Relations Day. Offerings on this
Sunday strengthen outreach to
communities in the United States
and Puerto Rico, encourage so-
cial justice and work with at-risk
youth, and help to build community across all
races and peoples. These gifts are a wonderful
way a way to fulfill Jesus’ words in Matthew
25: “Whenever you did one of these things to
someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—
you did it to me.”
A Note from Cathy Schlickman
Dear Friends at St.
Luke's,
There are no words that
can adequately thank
each of you for the love and appreciation I have
felt during my last days before my retirement.
Thank you to staff, "my subs" and others I have
worked closely with during the past 5 years who
honored me with a surprise send off and to S/
PPRC and Invitation and Welcome for the awe-
some brunch on January 3.
As I said at that time, leaving is not easy, but
knowing that I can come back and sub in the of-
fice, help with tours and MT. TOP pies and
whatever else I find the time to do, made leaving
easier. I appreciate all of the beautiful flowers,
pictures, awesome gifts and words of encourage-
ment as I retire. St. Luke's has become another
extended family for me and I will not be able to
stay away!
Danielle Phillips is your new administrative as-
sistant and I have great confidence in her abili-
ties to do a wonderful job! I wish her the best
and hope she enjoys her job as much as I did.
God bless and prayers to each and every one of
you at St. Luke's! T he Ministry Fair originally sched-
uled for today (Sunday, January 10)
has been postponed. Look for a future an-
nouncement about the new date and time!

A Covenant Prayer in the Wesleyan Tradition UMH 607
I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, ex-
alted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all
things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O Glorious and blessed God, Creator, Son, and Holy Spirit, Thou art mine, and I
am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.
Amen.
