© Stanford University, 2013 1 Stanford EPGY Fall Mathematics Screen Implementation Guide, September 5, 2013 According to the Shelby County Schools Benchmarking Calendar for the 2013-14 school year, all students in grades K-5 in Legacy MCS schools and Stanford Opt-In Legacy SCS schools are required to complete the Stanford EPGY Fall Mathematics Screen during the assessment window of September 5, 2013 through September 12, 2013. For each grade level K-5, the Stanford EPGY Fall Mathematics Screen is composed of 10 carefully selected exercises drawn from the Stanford Math Pre Algebra Program. These exercises are designed to test expected fluency on key grade level specific Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The Stanford EPGY Fall Mathematics Screen provides teachers and administrators with an easy-to-implement method of quickly assessing all students in conformance with the new Tennessee Department of Education RTI 2 requirements. It is recommended that teachers schedule students to complete the Stanford EPGY Fall Mathematics Screen as early as possible within the assessment window. Any computer previously certified for Stanford Math or Stanford Language Arts & Writing have the components necessary to run the assessment. Students may complete the Stanford EPGY Fall Mathematics Screen as a whole class in a computer lab or laptop cart setting, or in small rotational groups using classroom computers. Students should be monitored during the assessment to ensure meaningful results. Detailed instructions regarding access are provided on the following pages, along with sample test items for each grade level. If you have questions regarding district policy or requirements, please contact your Shelby County Schools District Mathematics Advisor. For implementation and/or technical support requests related to the Stanford EPGY Fall Mathematics Screen or for general questions related to EPGY Courses, please contact your Stanford EPGY Program Management Team at [email protected].
