On February 21, the Robotics team participated in the First Annual UAM VEX Robotics Competition. They competed against 11 other schools, in-cluding Bryant, Cabot, Vilo-nia, Monticello, Arkadelphia, etc. Going into the elimina-

tion round, SCHS was ranked #6 which allowed them to be one of the top teams to choose an alliance in the elimination match. The alliance in the match was one of the teams from Cabot. With the fi nish in the match, along with the accu-

mulated score, Star City fi n-ished third. They also received the Sports-manship Award. The team selected to win this award is the team who demonstrated a good attitude throughout the competition and was eager

to help other teams with prob-lems concerning their robots, although they knew they will face them in the arena. The Arkansas State VEX Competition is Saturday, March 7 at Arkansas Tech Uni-versity in Russellville.

Congratulations Ladydogs. This is Coach Becky Brown and the Ladydogs 700th win, 101 consecutive conference win, 24 consecutive state tournament appearances, 10 re-gional championships. They are now on their way to state competition which will be held in Ozark.
