The East Peoria Police Department Police Officers work around the clock to keep neighborhoods and business districts safe. They maintain order and enforce laws and city ordinances. Among the goals of the police department, preserving life and ensuring safety to the residents of the community, as well as promoting awareness to prevent crime is of the top priority. The department services 22 square miles, and a population of 23,100.
The Police Department consists of: Uniformed patrol division Investigations division Communications Command staffFrom these divisions the department has: bicycle officers motorcycles officers tactical officers belonging to the Central Illinois Emergency
Response Team (CIERT), the ILEAS statewide tactical response team
truck enforcement officers K-9 unit Honor GuardThere are currently two officers tasked out to specialized units, one with the Multi County Enforcement Group, and one with the Central Illinois Cybercrimes Unit with the FBI.

Information Technology
Implemented programs for work flow efficiencies for staff.
Working on Citizen based web portal for service oriented requests.
Completed upgrades in technology services for City Facilities.
Will continue to look for Technology driven programs to enhance the Community.
Code Enforcement & Building Inspections
Upgrading Code Enforcement Programs to be more efficient.
Working on Citizen based Web Portal for service oriented requests.
Working with City departments on information sharing for transparency in government.
Expanding training for Code Enforcement and Inspections.

City ClerkMorgan Cadwalader
The City Clerk's office performs a variety of functions vital to city government. The City Clerk attends all East Peoria City Council meetings, preparing the meeting agendas and transcribing the minutes. This office also conducts voter registration, issues applications for various permits, handles Freedom of Information inquiries, administers updates of the city code, and files official municipal documents with Tazewell County and other governmental entities. The City Clerk is also the keeper of the city seal and certifies and attests that official signatures are on municipal documents.

A YEAR OF GROWTH
THIS YEAR PUBLIC WORKS
In addition to the billion gallons of drinking water we made, 2 billion gallons of sewage we treated, $2.2 million in street maintenance we performed18 million pounds of trash & recycling we collected
We worked to meet the infrastructure needs of Our great City today and plan for the future.

WE ADDED 2 MILES OF CITY STREETS IN THE LEVEE DISTRICT
WE ADDED 1 MILE OF ROAD ON SUMMIT DRIVE
ALL OF THE WATER, SEWER AND STORM SEWERS THAT ACCOMPANY THESE ROADS.

IN ADDITION TO THE NEW DOWNTON AND SUMMIT DRIVE, TO MEET OUR CURRENT NEEDS WE:
REPAVED FONDULAC DRIVE
REPAVED BLACKJACK BOULEVARD
WE DRILLED A NEW WELL AT OUR NORTH MAIN WATER TREATMENT FACILITY.
WE REPAVED ½ MILE OF CENTENNIAL DRIVE
ALTORFER BRIDGETO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE NEW LEVEE DISTRICT, WE ARE BUILDING A BRIDGE ACROSS FARM CREEK FROM THE CAMP STREET / ALTORFER LANE INTERSECTION TO THE NEW ALTORFER LANE EXTENSION THAT ENDS AT COSTCO.
THIS WILL BE COMPLETED BY SEPTEMBER 1ST OF THIS YEAR.

WE PLAN TO WORK WITH IDOT TO WIDEN MAIN STREET THROUGH EAST PEORIA TO IMPROVE NORTH-SOUTH ACCESS THROUGH TOWN.
