Steven D. Bush, M.Eng., P.E.

Position: President Education: Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering Master of Engineering University of South Carolina Columbia, South Carolina Registration: Professional Engineer, #9154 OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER training Radiological Safety Training and Nuclear Gauge Operation Experience: Over twenty-eight years experience as an engineer.

Registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina & North Carolina.

Areas of expertise include geotechnical engineering, environmental site assessments, land remediation, construction materials testing and pavement design.

Serves as Senior Engineer on geotechnical exploration projects and environmental assessment projects.

Project experience includes the geotechnical explorations for the Conway Bypass in Horry County, quality assurance testing for the Steel Creek Dam at the Savannah River Site and statewide assessments for underground storage tank installations at SCDOT facilities. Project experience also includes environmental site assessments and transaction screens for various land acquisitions by the State of South Carolina.

Previous experience includes serving at the SCDOT Research and Materials Lab as a Material Engineer. Responsibilities included supervising soils and geotechnical testing, pavement evaluation, and concrete and structural steel inspection.

Jagdish (Jack) K. Shah

Position: Director of Laboratory Services Education: Bachelor of Science (1968) Gujarat State University Gujarat, India Graduate Studies in Industrial Engineering University of St. Louis St. Louis, Missouri Experience: Over 30 years experience as Laboratory Supervisor and

Quality Control Supervisor. Duties include material testing, quality assurance, training field and lab technicians, and soil, concrete and asphalt testing.

Project experience includes serving as the Quality Control Civil Lab Manager at V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville, SC from 1973 to 1982. Duties included developing technical procedures for lab and field testing, calibration of lab and field equipment and training and certification of lab and field technicians. Also served as Internal Auditor for Microfilm Documentation Section.

Other project experience includes the World Trade Center (New York City, NY), Ludington Pump Storage Plant Laboratory Supervisor (Ludington, Michigan), Eastman Kodak Company (Columbia, SC), and Dupont Inc. (Camden, SC). The Ludington Plant Project received the “Best Achievement Award in Civil Engineering” in 1971.

Also experienced in steel inspection, industrial X-ray work, and inspection and certification of radioactive gas containers for interstate/international transportation (DOT/NRC requirements). Served as Vice President of Carolina Engineering and Testing Company (1984-1996).

Sukhdev S. Guram, MS, P.E.

Position: Director of Engineering

Education: Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering Master of Science, Engineering Wayne State University Michigan Registration: Professional Engineer, #7002 Experience: Over 30 years experience as an engineer. Areas of expertise

include geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, quality assurance, and designing civil engineering projects with geosynthetics.

Experience includes planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations for projects ranging from industrial facilities to major roadway projects. Also designing civil engineering projects with geosynthetics including industrial landfills and enclosures, and providing technical assistance on construction projects.

Nine years experience at the SCDOT Research and Materials Laboratory as a Geotechnical Engineer. Responsibilities included supervising soils department, geotechnical testing, and pavement evaluation.

Twenty years experience in the geotextile industry, supervising an integrated technical support and development effort for the Geotechnical Fabric Group. Responsibilities included laboratory and field testing, and development of new products and applications. Duties also consisted of providing marketing and customer service support, technical solutions to improve and maintain existing markets for geotextiles, and technical assistance for customers regarding environmental and civil engineering projects.

Experience includes soil and aggregate compaction testing, concrete sampling and testing, compaction testing and establishing roller patterns for hot-laid asphalt mixes. Experience also includes performing laboratory testing to determine moisture-density relationships of soils and aggregate mixtures.

Experience includes inspection of geomembrane installation on landfill applications, methane monitoring at landfills, including installation and periodic calibration of stationary methane monitors, sampling groundwater for environmental testing purposes.

Experience also includes operation and maintenance of mining equipment and examination and inspection of mines for safety and fire hazards

Robert L. Kunkle, Jr., E.I.T.

engineering properties, project site reconnaissance and boring layout, management of test boring exploration programs, and analysis of field and laboratory test data. Past experience also includes the determination of bearing and settlement characteristics of subsurface materials, and preparation of geotechnical investigation and foundation recommendations.

Responsibilities include managing the construction services department with report review, project management and dispatching of field personnel. Experience includes concrete strength testing, mix design / evaluation, and laboratory testing of soil, asphalt, and other construction materials.

Experience includes evaluation of liquefaction potential of soils during seismic events and determination of site seismic classification in accordance with International Building Code criteria.

Performs Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM Practice E1527.

Chad Weaver, Project Geologist
