DENINATION
A statically determinate structure is one where there is only one distribution of internal forces and reactions which satisfies equilibrium.
In a statically determinate structure, internal forces and reactions can be determined by considering nothing more than equations of equilibrium.
In other words, If a structure can be solved by equations of statics alone, it is said to be statically determinate.
Reactions and internal forces can be determined solely from free-body diagrams and equations of equilibrium
Types of determinate structure
statically determinate structures of the following types:
(1) pinned and rigid-jointed frames; (2) stiffened shear webs ; (3) thin-walled beams and torque tube
