Dear Brothers, sisters and friends,

We have just celebrated the 86th anniversary of ourparish. Joyful celebration is an important element within acommunity of faith, as Pope Francis reminds us in his ApostolicLetter Evangelii Gaudium: “…Finally an evangelizing communityis filled with joy; it knows how to rejoice always. It celebratesevery small victory, every step forward in the work ofevangelization…” (No.24).

The centre and reason of our celebration is and will alwaysbe our Lord Jesus and the salvation that comes through Him. Thatmeans that we celebrate all the people who, since the foundationof the parish until now have been instruments of the Lord in thenew life we have received. It also means that we celebrate withthe church and within the church, evangelizing community filledwith joy.

We celebrate as Mary, the mother of Jesus and mother ofall those who believe in Him. Mary celebrated the work ofsalvation IN FAITH: when the fullness of time had come and Godsent his Son born of Mary (Cfr. Ga 4, 4), she was able to see withher heart and to sing what the Lord HAD DONE in her, thefulfilment of His promises (Cfr. Lc 1, 46 – 55). We ask our motherMary to help us have the same vision, vision of faith, that willmake us SEE salvation present now in our everyday life.

We celebrate as our Saint Patron, Saint Teresa: in her shortlife, with a strong faith, she experienced the merciful love of theFather, maternal love that understands and takes care of eachhuman being; the love of the Son on the Cross who gives up hislife so that every human being will enjoy true life; the love of theHoly Spirit given to us through the death and resurrection ofJesus. She was united to the love of God in the middle of darkness,sickness of the body and darkness of faith, when nothing seemedto help her experience the loving presence of God. So do we: wecelebrate not because everything is right and we enjoy success,but because in the midst of difficulties and questions withoutimmediate answers, we believe that salvation is present in us.

Let us rejoice and celebrate !

Reflections on St Teresa's Feast Day

the i r ta lents in s ing ing and danc ing . Games and ra f f le draw added to the fun . On that

day , we a l so re f lected on S t Therese ’s l i fe and our own l i ves on th i s ear th .

In every Chr is t ian ’s l i fe , our journey in l i fe i s a p i lgr image to obta in God’s b less ings .

We may not rea l i se that we are on a journey in a nar row road , that w i thout our fa i th

and the love of God , we may not be ab le to surv ive .

S t Teresa ’ s Church , our own par i sh , honours our Pat ron Sa int , as the l i t t le f lower

fu l l o f s impl i c i t y and humi l i t y . She of fered herse l f to God as a l i v ing sacr i f i ce to do

good deeds to other , to he lp the poor and the needy , espec ia l l y the ch i ld ren . I t i s not

easy to fo l low God in th i s ear th ly p i lg r image , to meet a l l the cha l lenges in l i fe and to

In this October issue, we have shared the memory of many happy events in ourparish, such as Fr Salvador’s 25th Anniversary and the Feast Day celebration. Whilewe wil l miss Deacon Leung’s presence in our parish, we are also happy to welcomeCharles Chu to return to our parish serving as our deacon. Although our parish hassuffered some damage to our church building in the recent typhoon, we should bethankful that no one was hurt. Let us pray for the victims of recent disasters inIndonesia and Japan, we pray that they can find comfort and support in Christ, andbe able to return to their normal l ives very soon.

Parish Feast Day Celebration 主保瞻禮慶典

A Vote of Thanks from President, Parish Pastoral Council

We celebrated our 86th Anniversary of ourchurch on Saturday 29 September, two days before ourPatron Saint Feast Day. We were very pleased andhonoured that our Rev Bishop Michael Yeung came tocelebrate mass for us together with Monsignor Ante andJavier, our parish priests and priests from other parishes.

The mass was followed by the celebration dinnerwith over 500 parishioners. The highlight of the dinnerwas the performance by Junior Legion of Mary spreadingthe message of the love of God. Bishop Yeung sang alongwith them and then they started an upbeat dancing thatbrought most people to their feet.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank allassociations who helped in organising the event andensuring all details were being looked at; especiallyLiturgy Group and Recreation Group. Finally, we thankrepresentatives of Kowloon South West Deanery and alldonors for the gifts.

Most important of all is that you take part in theFeast Day Celebration and come to share the joy with usand remember we are “One Flock, One Shepherd”.

今年 9 月 2 9 日 ， 本 堂 提 早 兩 天 慶 祝 8 6

週年主保瞻禮，我們很高興和榮幸楊鳴章主教蒞臨主持

感恩祭，兩位蒙席、其他堂區及本堂幾位司鐸共祭。

感恩祭後有五百多位教友參加了聚餐。晚宴的高

潮是聖母軍青年支團的表演，他們以歌舞傳達天主的

愛，在座的楊主教亦一同詠唱。當青年載歌載舞時，在

場的教友亦歡欣地跟著舞動，氣氛十分熱鬧呢！

在此，我感謝幫忙策劃主保瞻禮的康樂組和禮儀

組，以及所有參與、安排一切細節的團體，還有贈送禮

品的西南鐸區代表及熱心教友。

其實最重要的是你們的參與，大家一起分享堂區

主保瞻禮的喜悅，同頌主恩；也讓我們時常記著，彼此

「同屬一棧，共屬一牧」。

1. 十 月 為 玫 瑰 月 ， 平 日 早上7時 4 5分彌撒後恭唸玫瑰經，歡迎教友熱心參與。October is known as the Month ofRosary. The Holy Rosary is recitedevery morning after the 7:45amMass, in Cantonese. Allparishioners are invited to join.

2. 九 龍 區 明 愛 賣 物 會 將 於11月11日(主日)在旺角花墟公園舉行，本堂將有數個攤位，現正收集全新物品，請大家聯絡廠商贊助禮物，可於辦公時間交到堂區辦事處。The Kowloon Caritas Bazaar willbe held at Fa Hui Park, Mong Kokon 11 November (Sunday). Weshall have several booths and areappealing for donation of giftsespecially those brand new itemsfrom manufacturers. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Altar commemorates the true love of Jesus tohuman beings.

The Five Wounds of Jesus can be seen on the statue. The Resurrected Christhas His Heart exposed, wounded and crowned with thorns, with a burning flame anda cross on top, signifying the immense love of Christ, calls every human being to dopenance and to love each other.

Sacred Heart of Jesus wishes people to depend on God, love God, and thereforeobtain Mercy, Love and Forgiveness.

Between November 1673 and June 1675, within a period of 18 months, Jesusappeared to St. Marguerite Marie Alacoque, told her that He would reveal His SacredHeart to the world through her, and bestow grace on everyone. During the finalapparition, he exposed His Sacred Heart ( as depicted in the Catholic Church ), andexplained to her the importance of devotion to the Sacred Heart. Anyone whovenerates the Sacred Heart will receive sanctifying grace and have the heart warmedup. (1)

A dove with open wings on the ceiling represents the Holy Spirit. The cloudbehind the dove indicates that Heaven is open. The Father said, “ This is my belovedson, in whom I am well pleased” (2). This is the Holy Trinity. The octagon ceiling (8),stands for resurrection, new life, grace and beyond .(3)

Two Alphabets, A ( Greek alphabet Alpha) stands for the beginning , and Ω(Omega ) stands for the end , on both sides of the Altar, show that Jesus is thebeginning and the end. (4)

XP on the wall (Greek word, meaning Jesus crucified), stands for crucifixion,sacrifice and penance, leading to the glorious Ascension to Heaven.

Historical Facts of our Parish - Sacred Heart of Jesus Side Altar

耶穌聖心祭台是紀念耶穌聖心愛人情真。

面對耶穌聖心像，可以看見耶穌的五傷痕跡，復活的耶穌以外露的聖心，繞以茨冠，並有傷痕，上有火焰及十字架，表示耶穌對世人的大愛，提醒世人賠補己罪，並要彼此相愛。耶穌聖心願世人依恃天主、愛天主，以獲得天主的仁慈、憐憫和寬恕。

1 6 7 3年 1 1月至 1 6 7 5年 6月期間一連十八個月，耶穌在法國顯現給修女瑪加利大（S a i n tMa r gu e r i t e Ma r i e A l a c oqu e），並對她講解恭敬聖心的要義，大意是：人人應當恭敬耶穌聖心，才能把冷漠無情的心暖化起來 。耶穌最後一次顯現時，把聖心披露出來（形狀如教會准印的耶穌聖心像）。

本祭台頂有張開雙翼的鴿子形狀，代表聖神，後面有雲彩，代表天開了，使人聯想起耶穌受洗時，聖父說：「這是我的愛子，我所喜悅的。」 我們在此可默想聖父、聖子、聖神三位一體的奧秘。祭台頂呈八角形設計，「八」這數字在教會有復活、重生、恩寵和超越等意義 。

祭台兩旁有A ( A l pha -希臘文字母的首字)代表元始，和Ω (Omega -希臘文字母的末字)代表終結：尊崇耶穌是人類的元首、救主和審判者 。牆腳有Xp字樣(Χριστ -古希臘文基督首兩個字母重叠而成)，意味着十字架上的基督，耶穌為世人被釘在十字架上，犧牲及贖罪，也被引申為「光榮升天」的意思。

堂區活動 / 教友分享

我是張家俊(Go rdon )，2017年參加了聖德肋撒

堂的成人慕道團。透過課程中的厄瑪烏同行計劃，在堂區

的聖體會中望會。為了進一步學習和體驗教會的生活，我

參與了本堂86週年主保瞻禮慶典活動的佈置工作。

在佈置工作的前幾天，天氣非常不穩定，很擔心佈置

工作會延誤。很是感恩，佈置當日雖然時晴時雨，但天氣

涼快，工作能夠順利進行。雖然時間緊迫，需要在數小時

內完成掛彩旗及海報的工作，但在天主的保佑及各弟兄的

努力下，最後工作得以完成。

能夠奉天主的旨意去完成祂為我安排的工作，令我在領洗前親身體驗到善會和教友的生活，

增加我對堂區及教會的歸屬感。藉著在望會過程中，我可以向資深會友學習和聆聽他們的分享，

增強自己的信德，更拉近我和主耶穌基督的距離。希望明年成為聖體會一份子後，能夠與其他慕

道者一同為堂區服務，彰顯聖父的光榮！

一位慕道者的分享

堂區善會會員及教友於8月26日，在副堂聚首一

堂，歡送梁成珏執事。梁執事2011年6月到本堂服務，瞬

間七載，期間見證多位神父的調任，而他是近年來服務本

堂最長的一位牧職人員。天下無不散之筵席，九月他也要

被調派，幸而他即將服務的進教之佑堂區離本堂不遠，而

且兩個堂區同屬西南九龍總鐸區，我們會面的機會仍

多着呢！

梁執事是本堂培育組、關社組、康樂組、堂家組、停

車場服務員組、導賞組及童軍第十三旅的神師，在組員的

靈修及服務方面予以指導。當日大家都懷著依依不捨的心

情歡送他，希望他在另一堂區依然精神奕奕從事牧民工作

，侍主常樂，主寵日隆。

牧民議會衷心感謝梁執事在本堂的貢獻，區神父代表

我們致送一個印聖女德肋撒圖像的燈座給他，願聖女的亮

光在他侍奉主的道路上照耀他。

在堂家組分享心聲、大家合照留影後，便一起分享由

婦女會準備的豐富食物，亦多謝康樂組的籌備、菲律賓姊

妹的佈置及眾人無私的善後工作，對於默默服務的善會弟

兄姐妹，實在無以言謝！

8月25日是羅國釗神父晉鐸25周年，是他牧職生活中一個非常特殊的里程碑。為慶祝這個特別的日子，晚上六時彌撒羅神父與堂區神父，還有一眾嘉賓神父共祭，同頌主恩。彌撒後與教友聯歡聚會，成神父親自泡製印尼食品，主日學小朋友及菲律賓團體為神父載歌載舞，聯誼甚歡，至晚上九時才依依不捨地離去。

當天是感恩的日子，特此誌以為念。

身為慶祝羅國釗神父(F r S a l v ado r )晉鐸25周年晚會的司儀，我要預先與羅神父一起編排節目，期間覺得他很興奮，但奇怪他同時有點緊張. . .直到從他當晚主持感恩祭，聆聽他的講道，才感受到他的緊張緣由，原來是來自他的謙遜！見他當時以溫柔的語調道出：“天主認為我忠信，便揀選了我，不經不覺已經廿五年了”他只希望我們能多為他祈禱，也請我們多為聖召祈禱. . .他真是一位很謙遜的神父！

當晚的表演節目豐富、準備週詳。以羅神父為神師的中文主日學同學 -一班歌詠團的孩子獻唱了三首非常悅耳的聖詠，在投入的指揮和熱心的家長們一邊帶領、一邊伴唱下，除加插特色的朗誦，更邀請羅神父坐他們中間，然後他與小孩子親切地談話！如此富心思丶有誠意丶具分量的演出，證明他們是多麽尊敬這位司鐸！相信謙遜的羅神父，在他回港服務這段短短的日子裡，已經悉心牧養堂區的兄弟姊妹了！

慶祝羅神父晉鐸二十五周年晚會

在這期10月份的堂區通訊，我們分享了堂區許多快樂的回憶，包括羅神父晉鐸二十

五周年的慶典，和主保瞻禮彌撒及晚宴。我們會懷念梁成珏執事在我們堂區的貢獻，但也很

高興歡迎 朱念祖執事(Charles Chu)回到我們堂區擔任執事。雖然最近的颱風對我們聖堂頂

部造成了一些損害，但我們應該慶倖沒有人受傷。讓我們為最近在印尼和日本發生的災難的

受害者祈禱，我們祈禱他們能在基督裡找到安慰和支援，並且能夠很快恢復正常的生活。

We celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Priesthood forFr. Salvador on Aug 19. It was a very precious occasion for him andfor us all. A special celebration mass was held at 6pm on that day,followed by a joyful gathering in the gym. Children from SundaySchool sang beautiful songs and Filipino groups performed awonderful dance. Fr Paulus also made his special dish from hishometown. We thank the Lord for bringing us all together on thishappy occasion!

親愛的兄弟姊妹和朋友：

我們剛剛慶祝了堂區成立86周年，歡欣慶祝是信仰團體的要素，正如教宗方濟各在宗座勸諭《福音的喜樂》中提醒我們：「最後，從事福傳的團體是充滿喜樂的，而且懂得如何時常喜樂，歡欣慶祝福傳事工中的每一個小勝利和每一個進展。」（24）

我們慶祝的原因和中心是主耶穌，時常是由於祂和經過祂的救恩。這表示我們與建立堂區以來所有人一起慶祝，我們一起獲得新的生命，都成為上主的工具。同樣，這也代表我們與普世教會一起慶祝，在教會內整個福傳的團體是充滿喜樂的。

我們與耶穌的母親瑪利亞一起慶祝，她是所有相信耶穌的人的母親。瑪利亞以信德慶祝了主的救世工程：「時期一滿，天主就派遣了自己的兒子來，生於瑪利亞。」（參考迦4:4）她可以用心靈看見上主，因而詠唱上主在她身上行了大事，滿全了向她祖先所說過的恩許。(參考路1 : 4 6 - 5 5 )我們請求我們的母親瑪利亞，幫助我們有同樣的眼光，信德的眼光，使我們可以在今天的日常生活中，看見上主的救恩。

我們慶祝堂區的主保聖人小德肋撒：在她短短的生命裡，充滿堅強的信德，她經驗了天父的慈愛、也經驗、明白和關心每一個人的母親的愛；聖子在十字架上的愛，他犧牲自己的性命，為了每一個人可以得到真正的生命；透過耶穌的死亡和復活所給予的聖神的愛。在黑暗中，聖女與天主的愛結合，她經歷了身體的疾病和信德的黑暗，好像沒有一件事，可以幫助她經驗天主的愛的臨在。我們也是一樣；我們慶祝，並不是因為一切都符合理想，我們享受成功；而是因為在困苦中，許多問題沒有即時的答案，我們仍然相信救恩的臨在。

讓我們歡欣慶賀吧！
