STEEL STREETCAR
SHELTER
Inspired by nature and new technology.This streetcar shelter employs Spraytek99
solar panels designed by the Canadian company QSOLAR to provide energy to lights on the shelter. These are
lightweight semi-transparent solar panels with enough strength to take the place of structural roofing. These panels are supported by purlins made of2”x2” square
steel structural tubing. Supporting the purlins are three 5” diameter steel pipes that sit atop two columns of 6” diameter steel pipe. The entire structure is designed to
resemble a coniferous tree.
