United Methodist Men

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You church for making the United Methodist

Men's Spaghetti Supper a very successful fundraiser. It's hard to describe

how much we appreciate your support. You make all the difference in the

world. We thank all the ladies, (what would we do without you) who

pitched in to make the delicious desserts, who helped cook, serve, and

cleanup afterwards. All of this happens without anyone even asking them;

they just jumped in and did it. Thanks to all the men for planning, selling

tickets, cooking and cleanup, (but that’s our job) but you are appreciated

also. All provisions needed for the supper were donated by gracious

church members. You can rest assured all proceeds will be used for some

project in or around the church or some special mission. What a loving

church family we have. Thanks again.

The UM Men will meet on Thursday April 20th @ 6:30pm at Loco's.

We also look forward to helping with the Sunrise Breakfast Easter Sunday.

Thanks,

Johnny

Dear Church Family,

What a gift—this Holy Week and Easter that will soon be upon us! At a

children’s time in a recent service we said the words of John 3:16, “For God so

loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in

him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

The whole of God’s work through Christ is about God’s love for us—for

the whole world. We can see the love of God lived out throughout the entirety

of Christ’s life and ministry, but never is it more evidenced than in his will-

ingly going to the cross to suffer and die for our sins.

The power of that love holds potential for changing us. It not only pro-

vides remission for our sins and a hope for a future in heaven. It also provides

the power for the living of our lives in love toward one another.

We live in a world that so needs to know the love of God in Jesus Christ.

But how can they possibly know that love or come to experience it except that

we live it out to all those that we encounter. As we go into the world, there

will be those who will be easy to love. Others will present greater challenges

for us. But just as God “so loved the whole world,” he calls us to love the

whole world. He calls us to so embody love that we clearly represent Christ

wherever we go!

I look forward to all the good that God has already prepared for us dur-

ing Holy Week and Easter. May we all live into his fullness!

In Christ,

Shirley

RISE UP AGAINST HUNGER

Thank you for pledging $1.50/day for each of the

40 days of Lent. We passed out 50 jars during

worship. That means we will have raised $3,000

when all jars are returned. That helps provide

10,152 meals. Please return your jar on Easter Sunday. Our meal packag-

ing event is May 6. We need some men to help unload at 9 AM. We need

40-45 folks (all ages) to assist in individually packaging the food begin-

ning at 10 AM.

Thank you for your efforts.

In Christ,

Shirley

ALTAR FLOWERS You may place flowers in honor OR in memory of a loved one on their

birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. To put flowers in the sanctuary, please

sign up on the flower calendar in the Administrative Hall. Let Kristy know what you

would like printed in the bulletin.
