God Bless Suge Knight and Dr Dre for giving us this album. 44 Drake/Take Care A gorgeous album for a get together of any kind. 45 Electric Light Orchestra/Eldorado Heres a good place to start with their wonderful melodic pop rock. 46 Elton John/Too Low for Zero A quintessential 80s record. 47 Elvis Presley/Elvis Presley The man who made rock n roll popular.     53 Flying Lotus/Until the Quiet Comes I listen to this in the car a lot, its a record for internal thoughts. 54 Foals/Holy Fire This is them with no inhibitions. A must listen late at night. 55 Fred Wesley/House Party An incredible trombonist who collaborated with James Brown. 56 Friendly Fires/Friendly Fires Sparkly indie disco magic. 57 Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx/Were New Here Fantastic reappropriation of Gil Scott-Herons work. 58 Gina X/No G.D.M Uber-chic detached electronic 80s pop music. 59 Gladys Knight & The Pips/Best Of Where Peaceful Waters Flow is one of my favourite soul songs. 60 Gold Panda/Snow & Taxis A creation of samples and beats stitched together so seamlessly. 61 Gorillaz/Plastic Beach Diverse record with some seriously good collabs. 62 HAIM/Days Are Gone Theyve got seriously hooky pop melodies nailed.

Beautiful soul. 78 Jill Scott/Who Is Jill Scott? Super smooth sensual R n B. 79 Jimi Hendrix/Are You Experienced? One of the most talented artists on the planet. 80 John Coltrane/A Love Supreme One of the most important and influential jazz records ever made.

    81 John Talabot/fIN A really impressive fusion of deep house, disco and indie pop. 82 Jon Hopkins/Immunity Listened to this album all summer, heart wrenching. 83 Joy Division/Unknown Pleasures Doleful, deep-toned and passionate. Post-punk at its very finest. 84 Julio Bashmore/Au Seve This is the ultimate modern day rave track. 85 Kanye West/College Dropout This for me at the time was so exciting. A game changer. 86 Kate Bush/Hounds of Love A national treasure and a truly unique artist.

He seems to be it. 91 KLF/The White Room Put it on for a mellower moment. A rave classic. 92 Koreless/Yugen EP Let Korelesss hypnotic synths wash over you. 93 Kraftwerk/Autobahn The original Gods of electronic music. 94 La Roux/La Roux The songwriting on this album is incredible. 95 Lauryn Hill/The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill One of my favourite albums of all time. 96 LCD Soundsystem/LCD Soundsystem My favourite of their repertoire. 97 LCD Soundsystem/Sound of Silver The ideal after party record. 98 Lee Scratch Perry & The Upsetters/Super Ape, Bow down and lay back to the maverick reggae icon. 99 Leffield/Leftism My introduction to techno music. Still a favourite. 100 Les Rythmes Digitals/Darkdancer The album that was responsible for me falling in love with dance music. 101 Liquid Liquid/Liquid Liquid This band epitomise New Yorks post-punk and post-disco era. 102 Little Dragon/Ritual Union Yakimi has a beautiful voice. A really creative band.

    103 London Grammar/If You Wait Sparse electronic pop music, this band sound wise beyond their years.

Ive listened to this a lot this summer in the sunshine in the garden. 112 Mary J Blige/Whats the 411? Sweet soulful vocals combined with P. Diddys hip-hop beats. 113 Massive Attack/Blue Lines Everything from dub to hip hop to rave, beautifully consolidated into an iconic representation of 90s Britain. 114 Metro Area/Straight As A brilliant mesh of house, boogie and nu-disco. 115 Michael Jackson/Off the Wall The first Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson studio album. 116 Michael Jackson/Thriller Still a completely irresistible party record. 117 Miguel/Kaleidoscope Dream Polished prince-inspired pop from a really exciting new talent.

    118 Miles Davis/In a Silent Way A bonafide classic with Herbie Hancock on the electric keyboard. 119 Mr. Oizo/STADE 3 One of the most fearless producers out there.

    120 Nas/Illmatic He was 18 when he made this, oozes NYC vibes. 121 New Look/New Look This Toronto duo have a lot of style and I love her delicate vocals. 122 Nina Simone/Black Gold Her voice still blows me away every time. 123 Nirvana/Nevermind No words necessary, this is a no-brainer. 124 Nuyorican Soul/Nuyorican Soul A real feel good record, jazzy gospel at its best. 125 Otis Redding/Otis Blue Deep Southern soul at its very finest. 126 Outkast/Stankonia Brilliantly bonkers and hilarious.

    127 Para One/Passion One of my favourite French producers. First-class artwork too. 128 Paul Simon/Graceland Not many musicians are able to fuse so many different styles of music so effortlessly. 129 Perfume Genius/Learning An album that will make you feel sad but also gloriously uplifted. 130 Phoenix/If I Ever Feel Better The perfect fusion between disco and pop-rock. A delightful listen. 131 Pixies/Doolittle Just as exciting now as it was when it was first released. 132 PJ Harvey/Rid of Me The Queen of British alternative 90s rock. 133 Portishead/Dummy A record that changed my life. It still blows my mind every time I hear it. 134 Primal Scream/Screamadelica A seamless fusion of the two 90s worlds of acid house and rock. 135 Prince/1999 This album raised the bar for 80s funk and its not been beaten since.

    136 Prince/I Would Die For You One of my favourite Prince tracks. A classic.

    1367 Public Enemy/It Takes a Nation of Millions Impossible to ignore. Get to know this album. 138 Pulp/Different Class This album made the impact on the public that Pulp finally deserved. 139 Q-Tip/Amplified Infectious beats and a captivating Q-tip makes me a happy listener.

    140 Radiohead/In RainbowsOne for a late night. Its cerebral music, music for the brain.

    141 Radiohead/The Bends This is my coming of age record, great for a trip down memory lane. 142 Redinho/Edge Off EPA producer Im really excited by right now.

    143 Richard Hawley/Ladys Bridge For gloomy nights. The musical equivalent of a goodnight whiskey.

    144 Richie Spice/Gideon Boot Reminds me of Caribbean sunsets. A very socially conscious kind of reggae.

    145 Robyn/With Every HeartbeatRobyn makes the most perfect pop music for healing a broken heart.

    146 Roll On/16 Great Disco Hits A big fat dazzling slice of 80s disco. 147 Roots Manuva/Run Come Save MeRoots Manuva produced the majority of this album himself. Love his experimental and fun vibes. 148 Run-D.M.C/Raising Hell Hands down one of the best hip-hop records of all time. 149 Rustie/Glass SwordsA bombastic album. 150 Saint Germain/TouristA really creatively produced house jazz fusion. 151 SBTRKT/SBTRKTForward thinking whilst still being really accessible. 152 Short Stories/On The Way/ Let It Go EP A fantastic collaboration between Sampha and Koreless.

    152 Shuggie Otis/Inspiration Information One of the most charming musical statements of the 70s. 154 Simian Mobile Disco/Unpatterns A great atmosphere provider for post-night out gatherings. 155 Simon & Garfunkel/Greatest HitsUltimate 60s folk duo with so many powerful melodies up their sleeve. 156 Sly and the Family Stone/Greatest HitsGreat party record of the more psychedelic variety.

    157 Solange/True EP Reminds me in a lot of ways of Madonna Like a Virgin era. 158 SOPHIE/BIPP/ELLE EP SOPHIE has a talent for making super fun and unique dance music.

    159 Stevie Wonder/Innervisions He is my favourite artist of all time. 160 Stevie Wonder/Songs in the Key of Life I bought this vinyl when I was a student, it hasnt stopped moving me since. 161 Talking Heads/Speaking in TonguesByrne at his best lyrically. This Must Be The Place is such a powerful track. 162 Television/Marquee MoonThis album is addictive. 163 The 2 Bears/Be Strong A really cohesive dance album. Rollicking and fun. 164 The Beach Boys/Pet Sounds Their music is so special. A testament to the power of pop music. 165 The Beatles/The White Album Such an incredibly array of songs from The Beatles in their prime. 166 The Clash/London Calling19 tracks of brilliance by one of West Londons biggest treasures. 167 The Congos/Heart of the CongosA reggae masterpiece. 168 The Crystals/Hes A RebelWould love to have heard this when it first came out.

    169 The Cure/Standing On A Beach: The Singles Legendary. The Rolling Stones/Exile on Main StreetSome of the best grooves from one of the biggest bands on the planet. 176 The Ronettes/Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes Packed with Phil Spector-produced pop gems. 177 The Slits/Cut An amazing album from London punk scene legends. 178 The Smiths/The Queen is Dead This for me is The Smiths in their finest hour. 179 The Specials/The SpecialsThe Specials exude punk energy. Turn up loud. 180 The Streets/Original Pirate Material A defining record for a generation. 181 The Strokes/Is This It One stipulation: must be played loud. 182 The Velvet Underground & Nico/The Velvet Underground & Nico A must listen kind of record. 183 The Walkmen/Bows and Arrows The Rat is a song made for downing shots. 184 The White Stripes/White Blood Cells Raw and rough garage rock from the duo that do it best.

    185 The xx/The xxI heard this first in the bath, I highly recommend that as a good place to listen to it. 186 Thom Yorke/The Eraser Unadulterated introspective listening. 187 Thundercat/The Golden Age of Apocalypse A really good late night listen. 188 TLC/Creep Love love TLC. This is my favourite track of theirs.

    189 TNGHT/TNGHT EP Enjoy that bass. 190 Todd Terje/Its the Arps EPA synth wizard who makes fun dance music. 191 Toro y Moi/Anything in ReturnSome modern silky RnB and bubblegum funk. 192 Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs/TroubleDefinitely one to watch out for. 193 U2/The Joshua TreeThe ultimate anthemic and cathartic record. 194 Vampire Weekend/Vampire Weekend So much more than an indie record. 195 Van Morrison/Astral WeeksI would like Sweet Thing to be played at my funeral.

    196 Various/100% Dynamite Packed full of ska, reggae and rocksteady classics. 197 Whitney Houston/I Wanna Dance With Somebody Such an incredible voice. 198 Womack & Womack/ConscienceTeardrops will never grow old for me. 199 Wu-Tang Clan/Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) This is the album that created a blueprint for hardcore hip-hop. Open your ears to the sounds of the Wu-Tang.
