CLOUGHANEELY GOLFLast Saturday we all had a very unique afternoon when Sean Culleton and his family returned to the golf club to personally thank “the lads” who saved his life back in July. He is in great shape, has lost a few pounds and indebted to the Cloughaneely boys. Mary, Sean’s wife, thanked all involved for their quick action on the day and for bringing a happy ending to a dramatic day. Gerry, captain of the Bundoran Donegal League team made a presentation to club captain, Neil Gallagher. He told us that over 60 members of Bundoran Golf Club had participated in a CPR course since July. Our club would also like to thank Bundoran for their donation to our defi brillator campaign. Sean made a presentation to the lads, sponsored the competition on the day and left great prizes for another competition next year. It was great to see him and all his family. Hugo could not be there for the golf competition but he was delighted, later in the evening, to have the opportunity to meet all the members of the Culleton family. We wish to thank all those who took part in the Scramble competition and to all who made a donation on the day. There is an opportunity for all those who couldn’t make it on Saturday to still make a contribution.The team event was won by Chris Mc Callion, Brian Mc Gee, Brian Cannon and Micheal Murray. Second were Paul Harkin, Conor Ó Gallchóir, Bernie Mc Callion and Connie Ferry. Thanks to Francie for the use of the barbecue and to Neill for the cooking. Next Saturday the club play their second Gaeltacht League match against Cruit. Assemble at 10.30 for a gunshot start at 10.30. The Last man Standing is now a fi ve-week competition as so many punters returned the sheets with only one fi xture completed for each week. They have been returned to the participants and must be back in clubhouse on Saturday morning. All fi xtures to be completed this time. Sorry for inconvenience and thanks to all of you for your support.
