I am very pleased to report that things are just getting better and better at Stokers Siding Public School. And it has been a wonderful year so far! Our students have been making ground across all syllabus areas and have been living up to the ‘Small School, Big Family’ motto with pride. The photo below is one of my favourite of the year so far. It shows our senior students delivering on a procedure they wrote earlier that day and editing their work as required, ie, the younger students couldn’t follow the steps. The Small Schools Ball Games Carnival was one of the best carnivals I have had the pleasure of attending. Our team had a wonderful day mixing with students from other small schools and engaging in some healthy, fun, competition. Our team managed to bring home a first place in B division for the tug‘o’war and, boy, were they proud of it A big thank you to all our parents, students and community members who joined us for the Movie Night on Friday and to Mrs Bliss for organizing such a lovely evening. We were also blessed with the presence of Mrs Megan Johnson our Director of Educational Learning for the evening. I hope she enjoyed the movie and got to speak to some of our wonderful families. It has been wonderful to speak with some of our future Kindy parents this week. This was a great reminder that our Kindy Orientation Program commences Wednesday 23 October (week 2). If you know of any school aged children who are looking to start at Stokers next year please send them down to see me as soon as a possible. Our first ever Spring Fair will be held on Saturday 19 October – our first week back. I’m looking forward to seeing our community at this event. A big thank you to Alisha Cantwell for all her work behind the scenes and to Nick and Nikita for their support too (and for your projector guys, we couldn’t have held the movie night without you) Unfortunately The Tweed Coast Surf School have been unable to fulfill the needs of our surfing program this year. We have engaged Gemma Eaton from the Murwillumbah Tennis Club to deliver the Hot Shots Tennis Program to our students on Fridays commencing week 1. We look forward to developing future tennis stars and simply having a great time learning the skills with Gemma. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. School resumes on Monday 14 October. I look forward to seeing everyone then. Steve Miller Rel. Principal Term 3 – Week 10 Little School; Big Family Friday 27 September 2019

From the Principal Wow! 3 quarters of the way through 2019 already.

Our team managed to bring home a first place in B division for the tug‘o’war and, boy, were they proud of it

A big thank you to all our parents, students and community members who joined us for the Movie Night on Friday and to Mrs Bliss for organizing such a lovely evening.

A big thank you to Alisha Cantwell for all her work behind the scenes and to Nick and Nikita for their support too (and for your projector guys, we couldn’t have held the movie night without you)

Unfortunately The Tweed Coast Surf School have been unable to fulfill the needs of our surfing program this year. Happy 8th Birthday to Scarlett Godden

We hope you had a wonderful day – thanks for the

yummy cupcakes

Coding Stokers Siding Public School students engage in coding and IT related activities each Tuesday afternoon. A fantastic effort this week with our senior students guiding our K-3 class through WeDo programming activities.

On Police Remembrance Day we recognise the work that Australian police officers have done and continue to do for us. We also recognise all of the police officers who have died while serving our community. Today we are showing our respect and thanks by flying the Australian flag at half-mast. - Briar

We would also like to thank the Byron Bay Highway

Patrol for popping in to Stokers Siding to help ensure

our children have a safe environment when crossing the

road and that road users are endeavoring to abide by

the 40km/h speed zone in front of the school.

We hope our Police have a great day; because if you’re

having a great day then we are too
