The Regional Studies Institute publishes the State of the Region Report that provides rigorous analysis of current economic, social and cultural issues in the

Hampton Roads region to assist regional businesses and government in making informed decisions. The Economic Forecasting Project is a team of renowned economists who produce annual and quarterly forecasts for regional economic variables, along with an annual national forecast. In addition, the project analyzes economic data across a number of measures of economic activity within the region, state and nation. The E.V. Williams Center for Real Estate and Economic Development (CREED) provides information and resources for the Hampton Roads real estate and economic development communities in their quest to improve the regional economy through job creation and investment. The Old Dominion University Economics Club of Hampton Roads organizes several luncheon programs featuring top speakers on economic and business issues, emphasizing those issues that more directly impact the Hampton Roads economy. Additionally, the club sponsors the annual Economic Outlook Conference, featuring

forecasts for the global, national and Hampton Roads economies, and the Annual Economic Impact Award, to recognize outstanding practitioners of sound economic and financial policy. The Maritime, Ports & Logistics Institute engages in building mutually supportive linkages locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, and in supporting the economic growth and international competitiveness of greater Hampton Roads and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Insurance and Financial Services Center provides opportunities for increased interaction between industry professionals and students preparing for careers in insurance, risk management, and financial services; it also offers non-degree educational programs. Through credit classes, workshops and consultations, the Center for Economic Education strives to enhance the level of economic awareness and financial literacy throughout all of southeastern Virginia. The Emergent Risk Initiative (ERI) prepares future researchers, educators, practitioners and entrepreneurs for the challenges of managing risks in the ever-changing global environment through research, education and outreach.
