About the Project:
Structural demolition and façade retention of double fronted residential premises in Pont Street, Knightsbridge.
This project consisted of two structures which formed part of a long terrace of high end residential premises.
The façades had to be retained and the entire structures behind had to be removed.
This six storey development also had a basement and throughout its life had been subject to a number of previous conversions.
Project Challenges:
Due to the location and nature of the adjoiningtenancies, noise and vibration from the works were a particular concern and had to be managed.
Limited access to the rear of the project for the removal of materials and delivery of temporary works also proved a logistical factor that required close management to ensure our works did not cause a neighbourly issue.
Location of mobile cranes for the installation of the temporary works were equally important.
