student life direction Spaces rendez-vousAre you stressed? Would you like a comfortable space to have a re-laxing break between classes or before going to work at the BU? Or would you like to spend some time in a friendly atmosphere with your friends? Everything is possible thanks to the two places of relaxation; one on the loft floor in the Vauban building in Saint-Quentin-en-Yve-lines and the second in the Buffon building in Versailles.
You will find: Sofas, coffee tables, designer chairs that are very comfortable, sockets to connect your laptop into, noise cancelation walls so you can read the books that we put at your disposal or to work completely in peace. You can also borrow board games and card games to spend good times with your friends. Student life has everything for pleasant moments in a warm atmosphere.
At Versailles, student space is divided into :
- A space to eat warm food a high bar, coffee machines and a mi-crowave.- A space dedicated for relaxation where you will be able to enjoy new sofas.- A space to watch films, play video games…- A space where you will have access to computer stations and all the information on Student life.
You will also find - in the two sites – a place dedicated to the evening workshops of Student life. You will also be able to participate in our artistic and creative activities. Everything is possible with the new student space! It only needs you!
Do not forget before you go to leave this space as it was and clean.
Step by step, all the components will be equipped with a fitted out space. Next stage : the IUT of Vélizy.
All year round, Student life will offer you appointments in relation to its different missions (culture, associations, welcoming, accom-modation, residence permits, sport…) including the following general schedule.
> Arts festival - AprilDuring all April the works of the students are valued (exhibitions, concerts). You can apply to participate on www.etu.uvsq.fr.
> Accommodation Forum – First weekend of JulyThis forum brings together key players in student accommodation planning in order to facilitate their search. It provides all available information possible for accommodation.
> The student multiservice space – SeptemberThis space brings together to one place all the information and ser-vices necessary to fulfill administrative steps.
> Balance the association: the student daysSeptember at Guyancourt and VersaillesThe association and the Student life organise two days dedicated en-tirely to the student living. This event presents the whole University community with the student associations which boost the campus.
> Cultural Festival – OctoberThe cultural festival is an opportunity for Student life to wish a warm welcome to the new students and staff from all backgrounds and to commence the new program.
> Exchange Clothing – DecemberThis exchange is open to all the students of UVSQ who can buy blouses, vests, trousers, sweaters…etc for 1 Euro. The clothes are collected from the Red Cross who conserve the total of the money raised.
> Evening Workshops – Every night of the year.Every night discover a subject: photography, theatre, cooking, singing…
> Lunch Breaks – Every afternoon of the yearThe afternoons of the week are devoted to doing sport.
> Cultural OutingsOnce a month to discover the heritage of the region.
The student Life is a part of the Department of Studies and Univer-sity Life ( DEVU) which includes:> The pole training and piloting > The pole management of the studies > The pole orientation and occupational integration > The student Life
Approximately thirty agents work for this direction and collaborate in the piloting and in the implementation of the missions of training, orientation, insertion and student life.
Counter of informations, this direction answers all your questions whether it is before your arrival to the university (orientation, proce-dures of applications, registration, during (student life, course of studies, scholarships, social, housing benefits, resident’s permit) and after (occupational integration).
The student Life develop particularly the life of your campus. The agents situated on the campus of the Sciences in Versailles and on the building of Vauban in Guyancourt are there to answer your re-quests concerning the student life and to set up appointments to help you to the everyday life and animate your sites.
Its missions
> Welcome of the students (in particular firstly incomers, the forei-gn students - resident’s permit, welcome kit), information (T’DACtu, documentations)
> Accommodation : guide, forum, helps
> Culture : animations, festivals, workshops, cultural outing
> Associations : subsidies, forum, animations, trainings
> And also the sport with the SCAPS : EU, lunch breaks, AS
The administration of the student Life consists of people in charge of financial and administrative managements.
They take care to make the relay on the questions of student life with the direction of the university.
Delphine Arnold is the administration director of the student Life and manage the Housing Service.

> A space studying to the IUT of Vélizy with the rehabilitation of formerprefabricated and the installation of a table football > a Bike campus on the site of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines to move of sites in sites daily or for more long-lasting one > a House of the student on the site of Guyancourt, with an associative space, a theater, a multi-purpose hall.

It is a hassle finding somewhere to stay; the accommodation service of Student life does everything possible for the search for accommodation to be quick:- An annual edition of the guide to student accommodation is given or you can find all the information necessary for your research (see the internet pages on the student portal.)- The provision of adverts from household owners who mainly offer homestay and rent). Nearly 150 adverts are put up annually on the two branches in the department of student life.- The organisation of the accommodation forum is on the first Saturday of July where you will be able to find all the members of student accommodation and meet the household owners.- The registration of applications for the search of student accommodation is online and contact is available for the accommodation service if an advert matches your search.- Legal advice for students.- Walk-in visits Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoon (2pm-5.30pm) office 30 in the Vauban building.- You are an exchange student in the exchange program; the accommodation service is your contact in your search and the management of accommodation CROUS reserved.- You can also ask for a welcome pack for your arrival in the household with the necessary bedding, dishes…

- The T’DACtu is the LE journal of the life of a student. Every two months you can find the informa-tion concerning the college, the different actions of Student life and contacts and institutions, all the cultural news and associations and essential topics like the BD d’Aubin, latest trends… Read it and get addicted to it! - The biannual cultural program lets you register for workshops, cultural outings, go’to, evening outings…- And of course, stay attentive, because the posters are put up all over the campus!

- EU Free APS – 3 ou 4 ECTS for the satisfaction of requirements ex-pected and to know how many are expected at each lesson.
