Application fees
Admin Fee (non-refundable):
1. New Application R950.002. Renewal Application R450.003. Additional fee for Room Changes after approval granted R450.00
The Admin Fee is payable on signature & submission of the application. On Acceptance of this Agreement the Applicant agrees and undertakes to enter into a written Lease Agreement with the Landlord incorporating the terms and conditions set out herein prior to occupation and without any amendments to the Lease Agreement. Until the said document is signed, this accepted application constitutes a binding contract between the parties. The terms and conditions contained in the Landlord’s standard written Lease Agreement in use as at date hereof shall mutatis mutandis apply to this agreement once accepted in terms hereof by the Landlord. In the event that the Applicant fails to sign the Lease Agreement timeously, the Landlord shall, without prejudice to any of its rights in terms of this agreement, be entitled to charge the Applicant a penalty of R500.00 (Five Hundred Rand) per month until such time the Lease Agreement has been signed by the Applicant and received by the Landlord.
Damages Deposit
A R12,500.00 deposit is applicable to all bookings. This is to cover any damages incurred during your stay. The deposit is payable within 2 days of acceptance of the application, alternatively, you may pay on application in an effort to secure the room applied for. The deposit less damages will be refunded to you within 21 business days of your check-out inspection subject to the terms & conditions of the lease agreement.
Consent to credit verification
The Applicant & Occupant hereby consents to and authorises the Fountain Rez’s employees or agents to, at all times:
1. Contact, request and obtain information from any credit provider (or potential credit provider) or registered credit bureau relevant to an assessment of the behaviour, profile, payment patterns, indebtedness, where abouts, and creditworthiness of the Applicant & Occupant;
2. Furnish information concerning the behaviour, profile, payment patterns, indebtedness, whereabouts, and creditworthiness of the Applicant & Occupant to any registered credit bureau or to any credit provider (or potential credit provider) seeking a trade reference regarding the Applicant & Occupant’s dealings with the Fountain Rez.
PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION (“POPI”)
1. The Landlord shall collect and store personal information in respect of the Individuals for the purposes of this Application.
2. The personal information will be used and shared in accordance with the Landlord’s group privacy policy available on the Landlord’s website.
3. It is specifically recorded and agreed that the Landlord shall have the right at any time for the purpose of this Application, and in accordance with the provisions of the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (“NCA”), to verify the Applicants credit standing.

The Parent/Guardian/Bursar by their signature to this Application bind themselves jointly and severally, together with the Occupant, as sureties for and co-principal debtor in solidium (each surety is individually bound for the whole amount), for the due and punctual payment of all monies which may now or may in the future be owing by Parent/Guardian/Bursar/ Student to the Landlord. The sureties agree that their liability shall in no way be affected or diminished if one or more of the co-sureties fails and/or refuses to sign this application.
