DESCRIPTION
ACS Doha students recently undertook and self-initiated project that included writing, illustrating and publishing their own books after an interactive class on short story writing. As part of ACS Doha’s focus on literacy programs, the story writing class encourages students to let their imaginations run free and create stories. The student project started in the classroom with a lesson on storytelling, using a story planner and familiar books to examine the editorial and writing process. The students were encouraged to then create their own stories using the same process which was then presented individually to their classmates.
