b.The Mercy Seat was a Cover upon the Ark, of the same length and breadth. It was of pure gold and at either end were cherubim, beaten out of one piece with it. They had their wings overshadowing the Mercy Seat and their faces looking down upon it. It sets forth Christ as the Meeting Place between Man and God.

d. The Connection between the Mercy Seat and the Altar. Exo. 25:22

i. The Height of the Mercy Seat (25:10) was the height at which the animals were sacrificed on the Altar.

ii. On Atonement Day, the fire for the sweet incense to cover the Mercy Seat came from the Altar.

iii. The Blood sprinkled from the Mercy Seat came from the Sacrifice on the Altar.

iv. The Blood was sprinkled ON the Mercy Seat eastward once and BEFORE the Mercy Seat seven times.

Conclusion: All believers in Christ can approach the Throne of Grace to obtain mercy and grace in time of need.
