Laura BoshammerBachelor of Arts (Design and Communication)A brave move to Sydney for an administration job in media gave Laura the foot in the door she needed – just under a year later she is now the Advertising Art Director at Pat Callinan Media. Responsible for the management and design of advertising and editorial for both print and digital magazine titles, Laura’s degree set her up to succeed in a challenging and ever-changing industry.

Sam GourleyBachelor of Occupational Therapy A couple of years volunteering led Sam to a desire for a career helping others and into USC’s Occupational Therapy degree. USC’s practical placements exposed Sam to different areas of OT and helped him choose his specialisation in paediatrics. He is now a qualified OT with Imagine Therapies on the Sunshine Coast, specialising in school and clinic based occupational therapy support for children from birth to 18 years.

Rohan EtheringtonBachelor of Environmental Science and Bachelor of Science (Honours)Rohan’s degree set him up for a career in environmental science, where he works on ecological field surveys of flora and fauna, rehabilitation projects, seed collections and propagation and management of threatened species. Negotiating difficult terrain, he is currently working on assessing a translocation site for a threatened species in central Queensland.

“Most of the courses at USC have practical components, great field trips and industry links. A lot of the key tasks I carry out in my current job, I did as part of my degree. I’m multi-skilled and that’s important working in a small business.”
