GENERAL:

This Technical Publication details measures to take in order to minimize the occurrence of 1101 Jams in theInner Finishers listed in the Products Affected.

DETAILS:

An 1101 Jam is an Entrance Sensor Stationary Jam.

There are two (2) causes which result in an 1101 Jam Code addressed in this Technical Publication.

Cause 1:

When the sheet of paper [1] is output to the Processing Tray [2] in the Inner Finisher, its leading edgecomes in contact with the Paper Retainer (Front/Rear) [3]. The sheet of paper is normally fed to the positionindicated by the dashed arrow [A], but the Paper Retainer (Front/Rear) is so heavy that it presses down onthe sheet of paper and it may be fed in a state indicated by the solid line arrow [B]. This results in an 1101Jam.

Cause 2:

The Shaft [1] for the Offset Roller is centered with two (2) Side Plates (Front/Rear) [2] and two (2)Bushings [3]. However, when the HP Motor Bracket [4] and the Bushing [5] are mounted to the Side Plate, the ability to rotate the Shaft for the Offset Roller becomes diminished. This results in the aforementionedsymptom. Figure [A] shows the position of the parts as described in the Parts Catalog. Figure [B] shows across-section view of the parts.
