2019-2020 SUMMER READING ASSIGNMENT 7TH GRADE
Summer Assignment for Incoming Seventh Grade
2019
Read this book. Just read it.
No tracking thoughts. No notes. No worksheets. No projects.
Just read.
2019-2020 SUMMER CULTURE ASSIGNMENT ALL GRADE LEVELS
During the summer each student should complete a small project that will become part of
an inspirational installation in their classroom or hallway. Instructions are below and an
example is provided on the following page. This project can be completed independently
by older students; our younger Mustangs may need some assistance.
You will need:
8 ½ x 11 sheet of white paper
Mounting paper (can be construction paper, poster paper, scrapbooking paper, etc.)
Photo of student to insert into project
3 school-related goals for the 2019-2020 school year. Some examples of school-related
goals are listed below.
“My goal is to make new friends.”
“My goal is to perform at least one random act of kindness each week.”
“My goal is to improve my reading fluency.”
“My goal is to complete homework and classwork in a timely manner.”
“My goal is to say good morning to my teacher every day.”
“My goal is to keep my desk and materials organized.”
These are just a few examples of school-related goals. The possibilities are endless!
Please make sure that the goals that your student creates are specific to them.
The student’s name and grade should be somewhere on the front of the project.
Writing can be handwritten or typed; please make it neat, not too small, and easy to read.
An example of this project has been provided on the following page.
To assemble:
You can arrange your items (photo, 3 goals, student’s name and grade) in any way you
like.
When you’re finished, please mount your project on mounting paper. If you do not have
mounting paper, you can simply turn in the 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper.
This assignment is due by the first day of school. A great time to hand it in is when you
bring in your materials to Open House.
We hope you have fun with this project and enjoy your summer!
