Dear Students, Summer break is the time to relax and enjoy with your friends and family. You will surely love to complete them We expect you to bring the work neatly done in a folder/scrap book
As the holidays have begun, it’s time for us to have some fun, It is the time to read an amazing book and help mom cook,
We will make new friends and play a lot of games, Spend time with them and know their names,
We will sleep on time and rise with the bright sun, As the holidays have begun, it’s time for us to have fun!!
Few guidelines for parents to make the long summer break fruitful. 1. “Knowledge is Power”. Therefore encourage your child to cultivate the reading habit because it not
only enhances knowledge acquired but develops vocabulary, language skills and improves spellings. And also read to your child because it builds reading skills and increases his/her attention span.
2. “A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”. Encourage your child to go out and play because sports
instill discipline, generate sporting spirits, channelize energies constructively. 3. Communication skills play a pivotal role in grooming the overall personality of the children. Converse
with your child preferably in English to help him/her get comfortable with the language. Encourage your child to read children’s magazines like Primary Plus, Magic Pot, Chandamama, Champak etc.
4. Spend quality time with your child engaging him / her in activities based on enhancing his / her
powers of observation and imagination. 5. Encourage your child to play board games e.g. Chess, Ludo, Carrom etc. 6. Sensitize your child about the rich culture and heritage by watching different informative channels
like ‘The National Geographic’, Animal Planet etc. Children, unleash your creativity, do your work yourself, rely less on your parents and the Internet and more on yourself. Set aside some time everyday to work on your homework. Do not leave it for the last week. See the magic happen.

Let us read about Vipul’s Family.
While returning home from school, Vipul bought a bhutta (corn on the cob). He reached home and
asked his mother- Where is Chhutki? I want to see her. His mother replied- Chhutki is in the room
upstairs.
Vipul caught his grandmother’s hand and said- You also come upstairs with me. His mother stopped
him- I have soaked Ba’s chapatti in dal. Let her first have her meal. Have you put sugar in the dal?
After coming to Nagpur you have forgotten our own way of making food- said Dadi to Vipul’s
mother. I have tasted the dal. It has been prepared well- replied Vipul’s mother.
Vipul picked up his grandmother’s plate and ran upstairs. He asked her to follow him quickly.
When I was your age I could run up a hill in the same time- said Dadi.
Vipul gave the bhutta he was eating to his Mami, washed his hands and lifted little Chhutki.
Suddenly Chhutki started crying. She is hungry- said Mami. She sat down to feed Chhutki.
