Join us for some fresh air, immersive learning and fun. Explore themes such as bugs, birds or bison on these guided, family-friendly walks through Fort-Whyte Alive. This program promotes environ-mental awareness and touches on Manitoba’s cultural history. A little piece of lake life, in the city.

Join us for an evening of canoeing or kaya-king for the perfect summer night. Register in advance to reserve a canoe or kayak for a 40-minute exploration of our lake. No experi-ence is required.

Please note that this experience takes place at our Adventure Site — please arrive at our south entrance at 2505 McGillivray Blvd. Tuesdays + Thursdays in July and August 6 pm, 6:55 pm, and 7:50 pm

A hands-on opportunity in citizen science. Join entomologist Joel Gardner from the University of Manitoba to find out how bumble bee popu-lations are doing at FortWhyte. You will learn how to safely handle these fuzzy pollinators and observe them before releasing them back into the wild.

Movement and meditation on the water. Join Ash Bourgeois of Wild Path in celebrating summer as she leads a stand up paddleboard yoga session on our glassy water. Start the practice learning some SUP fundamentals, and then enjoy a yoga ses-sion on our lake. Take in the last bit of daylight as the sun drops below the trees. This is an unforgettable opportunity to connect with self and with nature — and soak up the sun on a beautiful summer evening.

Stand up paddleboards and all equipment pro-vided. Please bring a dry, properly fitting PFD in good working condition. PFD’s will be lent to those who do not bring one. Thursday, July 23 • 7:30 – 9:30 pm Thursday, August 20 • 7:30 – 9:30 pm$50/person, $45/FWA members Suggested for ages 16+

Explore our living waters. Head to the boardwalk trail to find all kinds of critters in the marsh and try to identify what you have found. This child-led activity promotes exploration and learning through identifying and getting to know even the smallest of creatures.

Give your child the opportunity to experience nature through the seasons. Designed for you and yours to connect with nature, this five-week session is infused with nature, fun, and outdoor-inspired adventure. Wild Child is a unique opportunity for parents and caregivers to engage in authentic outdoor experiences while keeping in mind the needs of their (slightly older) little one. Each session is designed to pair engaging lessons for adults with hands-on activities for the children. Tuesdays in August • 10 – 11:30 am

$80/four sessions, $70/FWA members This program is limited to one parent/caregiver and 1 child aged 2-4.
