PSALM 91:1-4He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide

in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and protection.

PSALM 91:5-8You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, 10,000 at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes andsee the recompense of the wicked.

PSALM 91:9-10Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—the Most High, who is my refuge—no evil shall be allowed to befall you,no plague come near your tent.

PSALM 91:11-13For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

LUKE 4:9-11And (Satan) took (Jesus) to Jerusalem and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written,“‘He will command His angels concerning You, to guard You,’ and“‘On their hands they will bear You up, lest You strike Your foot against a stone.’”

LUKE 4:12And Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

MICHAEL WILCOCKThe promise (from Psalm 91)

does not give Jesus – or the Psalmist’s contemporaries, or us – carte blanche

to embark on any project that he, or they, or we may dream up, believing that it will

automatically covered by the (“comprehensive insurance policy” spoken

of in the Psalm.) Rather, it is for those who love,

acknowledge, and call upon God and…want only to

go His way and not their own.

ROMANS 8:28aAnd we know that for those who love God all things work together for good…

ROMANS 8:37In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us…

PSALM 91:14-16The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble.I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long lifeand give them My salvation.”
