Therapists Focus: Increasing coordination, group

participation, strength and skills associated to participate in a variety of sports

Martial Arts Group Ages: 5-10 years old Location: East Broad Close To HomeSM Center Day/Time: Wednesday, morning (time TBD); June

19-July 25 (no group July 4) Duration: 6 weeks Facilitators: Andi Todd & Ilene Crabtree, Physical

Therapists Focus: To increase coordination, body awareness,

motor planning and confidence through martial arts.

Music & Movement Group Ages: 3-5 years old Location: Main Campus Day/Time: Wednesday, morning (time TBD) Duration: 8 weeks Facilitators: Rhiannon Reid, Physical Therapist Focus: This group is for children who are

ambulatory, with or without an assistive device and can imitate or follow simple directions. The focus is to encourage increased gain coordination, balance and gross motor skills while moving to with popular preschool songs.

Sensory Motor Summer Group: Preschool Play Ages: 4-6 years old Location: Main Campus Day/Time: Monday 11am-12pm, June 25 - August 17 Duration: 8 weeks Facilitators: Kendra Rutledge, Occupational Therapist Focus: Explore different ways to gain sensory input

in a group setting. Improve self-regulation, body awareness, and fine motor skills. Gain tools for sensory home programming.

Sensory Motor Summer Group: Messes in Motion Ages: 2-3 years old Location: Main Campus Day/Time: Monday 9:30-10:30 am June 25 - August 17 Duration: 8 weeks Facilitators: Kendra Rutledge, Occupational Therapist Focus: To encourage children in a fun peer setting

to try a variety of sensory motor experiences. Beneficial for families establishing a home program to incorporate sensory input into daily routine.

Yoga Group Ages: 4-6 years old and 7-9 years old Location: Main Campus Day/Time: TBD Duration: 8 weeks Facilitators: Amanda Cousino & Rachel Ferrante,

Occupational & Physical Therapists Focus: Improving strength, coordination, & attention

Pilates & Yoga for the Older Child Ages: 10 years old & older Location: Main Campus Day/Time: TBD Duration: 8 weeks Facilitators: Physical & Occupational Therapists Focus: Emphasis on core strength, balance and

breathing. Mix of pilates and yoga styles with body awareness focus.

Cooking Club: Let’s have fun with food! Ages: 4-6 years old Location: Main Campus Day/Time: Thursday 10:30-11:30 am June 14 -

August 9 (no group July 26) Duration: 8 weeks Facilitators: Lorie Swank, Occupational Therapist Focus: To encourage positive play experiences with

food for those picky preschoolers with limited food choices in their diets who resist trying new foods. The focus will be on having fun with our food while preparing child friendly snacks together. We will be exploring physical properties of food, sequencing and turn taking. Come prepared to have fun with food!

Bodies in Motion Ages: 5-10 years old Location: Main Campus Day/Time: Wednesday, 11am-12pm, June 13 -

Therapists Focus: To increase strength, coordination, motor

Occupational Therapists Focus: To increase body awareness, social

interaction, improve attention, enhance safety awareness and build confidence through dance.

cardiovascular fitness in a highly motivating group setting.

with peers for children with delayed pragmatic (social) language skills.

SMART GroupsSensori-motor Affect and Relationship Therapy Ages: 2 – 14 years old Location: Hilliard CTHGroup size: TBD Day/Time: Thursdays, 10:30, 1:30, 4:00 and 5:00 Duration: 11 weeks, June 9 thru August 18 Facilitators: Speech Language Pathologist and

Occupational Therapist * parents cannot pick time of group – it is age specific

Focus: For children with disorders in social communication, difficulties in playing with peers and in regulating attention, movement and sensory input. Children who are pre-verbal or who have limited language skills are encouraged to attend.

Pathologist Focus: Group therapy for the Spanish speaking

community that can be conducted in either monolingual Spanish or bilingual Spanish-English. Targets a variety of expressive language skills through structured play and social interaction.

appropriate social skills and an awareness of age appropriate activities to participate in with friends and peers? This group focuses on teaching social skills such as eye contact, initiation, peer relationships, taking turns while learning recreational skills to be used at home and in the community.

*Bike On Ages: 5-10 years old Location/Time: TBD Duration: 4 weeks Facilitators: Therapeutic Recreation Focus: Looking to teach your youngster

how to be safe on a bike. This is the group for you. Bring your child and their bike and helmet to group to learn proper safe biking skills. This group will focus on traffic laws and safe biking procedures while encouraging group fitness, fun and exercise through biking.

Walking Classic Ages: 10-18 years old Location/Time: TBD Duration: 4 weeks Facilitators: Therapeutic Recreation Focus: Do you want to complete a real

life walking marathon. Join us for a fun walking group this summer. This group will provide exercise activity while also completing scavenger hunts, potato sack races, relays and fun fitness. In September, participants can join with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in a mile walk during the New Albany Walking Classic.
