Welcome to the fourth annual World Agri-Tech Investment Summit in London.

The goal of the World Agri-Tech Investment series is to accelerate the transition of technology from the laboratory to the field by connecting innovators with partners, investors, accelerators and growers.

This year’s summit takes place at a time of unprecedented change and consolidation in the industry, and we’re delighted to welcome our largest ever audience to London to share ideas on what this could mean for technology acquisition, research and development.

Over the next two days we look forward to disruptive thinking on the potential for gene editing, biological solutions and the internet of things to transform the efficiency and resiliency of our farming systems. With so much expertise here in the room, I encourage everyone to participate, to ask questions and share ideas.

Roundtable discussion groups, our networking drinks reception and the ability to arrange 1-1 meetings during the summit create extensive opportunities to connect with new partners and we encourage everyone to participate. The Rethink team will be available throughout the summit if you need assistance with meetings or to facilitate introductions.

I would particularly like to thank our sponsors and exhibitors for their support for this summit, and our fifteen exciting young technology companies who we look forward to hearing from in our showcase sessions. I hope everyone will take the opportunity to meet all these exciting companies in our exhibition and networking room.

As we look ahead to next year, and to our sister summit in San Francisco, please take the time to share with us your thoughts, feedback and suggestions. Your input is essential to ensure we continue to build engaging and informative events that are of real value to your business.

I hope you have a great summit.
