American Saints!
This week we celebrate the memo-rials of two American saints—St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. John Neumann.
St. Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton, S.C. was born on August 28, 1774 in New York City. She was the
first native-born American to be canonized. She es-tablished the first Catholic girls’ school in Emmits-burg, MD, where she also founded the first Ameri-can congregation of the Sisters of Charity. She was canonized on September 14, 1975 by Pope Paul VI. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton died on January 4, 1821 in Emmitsburg. She was 46 years old. (Thurs-day)
St. John Neumann was born in Bohemia (Austria) on March 28, 1811. He immigrated to the United States in 1836 where he was ordained and joined the Re-demptorist Order. Eventually he became the fourth Bishop of Philadelphia. St. John was a naturalized citizen of the United States and is the first American bishop to be canonized. This event occurred on June 19, 1977, also by Pope Paul VI. St. John Neumann died on January 5, 1860 in Phildel-phia. (Friday)

A Big Thanks!!
Thank you to the “helping hands” who worked so hard to make our Christmas celebrations glorious.
They include:
Becky Patt and her committee who decorated our church for the season.
The Youth Choir who sang under the direction of Mrs. Donna Kerstiens—and their accompanist Ja-son Riviera
Our Adult Choir who sang for Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve under the direction of Mr. Bob Au-gustin, and Mrs. Anne Scott who accompanied on guitar.
The members of the choir, those little elves, who cleaned and organized the choir loft in preparation for Christmas.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one anoth-er, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God
supplies—in order that in everything God may be glori-fied through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and do-
minion forever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 4:10)
