There are 5,2 million inhabitants in Finland. The surface area is 338 145 km². 10 % of Finland‘s surface area is water and only 3 % is build-up land. South and Middle Finland is low-lying ground and in the north
of Finland there are lots of arctic hills. There are 55 000 lakes in Finland. Finland's official languages are Finnish and Swedish.

In the Northern Finland, at the arctic circle, lives Santa Claus. He gets over 700 000 letters every year from children all over the world.

If you go to the north from the arctic circle in the summer time, you can see the midnight sun. In the winter time there is a period of darkness, when the sun
doesn‘t rise for about two months.
