Our attention to detail drives us crazy at times, but achieving our goals provides our customers with priceless and unforgettable moments on the water.

WHAT WE STAND FOR As a rider- and product-driven brand we certainly stand out. Our in-house design team works side by side with the team of international athletes whose knowledge and input are invaluable. This unity and cutting edge technology takes our prototypes through the development process on the test winning CAD platform, delivering superior products.

Our development stretches beyond a beach in paradise, we test our boards in real conditions too. R&D is a continuous process of testing in different locations around the world throughout the year. From perfect waves in Hawaii, choppy seas and that local spot of our valued customer, we ensure that Fanatic boards feel right at home wherever you take them. Our dedication gives us the confidence to say that Fanatic boards are the most advanced on the market.

Pushing forward with our 2016 range, our principles are focus and passion. Our most popular shapes and sizes are available in a multitude of constructions ensuring a board for all! OCEAN MINDED

Fanatic has an Ocean Minded ethos; protect what you love, which is why every board proudly displays the Fanatic Ocean Minded Logo. We promise to build boards for a greener environment, using ethically sourced and sustainable raw materials wherever possible. Fanatic is one of the few brands to use eco friendly Cork. Our mission is to improve our manufacturing process by constantly fine tuning and researching our construction techniques, packaging materials and distribution methods – all for a fresh Fanatic future.

KEEP IT GREEN

Whilst creating new products, our primary goal is to reduce ecological impacts on the environment and use ethically sourced raw materials. Advancing in our construction techniques, significant performance gains have been achieved. In 2016 we continue to use the ultra stiff, impact resistant Innegra instead of Kevlar for lighter layups, and maintain the use of recyclable Basalt, Bamboo and Cork.

CAD SHAPING

Sebastian Wenzel has achieved great things in his shaping career and with over a decade of CAD experience under his belt, there is no question that he is one of the leading experts on computer aided board design. CAD shaping provides board builders with a platform to accomplish unprecedented levels of precision in the designs they produce and Sebastian does just that. CAD also allows us to store every board built since 2004 on a digital data-base so we can evolve, push boundaries and innovate, rather than recreate. Sebastian’s decades of board building knowledge and experience is funnelled into every design created. Through Sebastian’s lead and the collaboration of every Fanatic team member, we continue to build on our already existing library of facts, figures, successful shapes, proven rocker lines, volume flows and rail lines. As we advance it’s clear to see that Fanatic CAD shaping techniques work as our boards keep getting better. FACT.

Our high performance wave SUP range comes in seven different shapes and sizes. From the small 7’6”, up to our 9’10” Semi Gun we’ve got everything covered. Whether you’re going for those radical hacks in sloppy beach breaks, shredding fast and powerful reef breaks, or charging the massive Shipsterns Bluff, we’re sure there’s a ride for you in our ProWave line.

The ProWave line has evolved over the last couple of years into one of the widest ranges we offer, and underlines the needs of our international Team Riders who are pushing the boundaries of powerful performance surfing. Balanced and easy to paddle, they remain radical once unleashed onto a wave offering a responsive ride with quick acceleration and great speeds. The single into double concave bottom, surfy rocker line and biting rail shape allows for deep gouging carves, whilst the squash tail enhances tight arcs in the pocket. An increased nose width and evenly distributed volume flow gives the ProWave superb paddling efficiency, handling mushy day’s with ease. As you charge down the line its flow is unprecedented, providing you with confidence and comfort even on the biggest days.

The 9’10” Semi Gun is a stretched out and narrower version of the ProWave, designed for charging big waves with speed and control. Its famous reputation remains as the first SUP to conquer the monster Shipstern’s Bluff, Tasmania!

The ProWave comes with five boxes to give choice for either the Quad or Thruster Fin setup, for flexibility to adapt the board to your style of riding or suit the conditions on the day.

K E Y F E A T U R E S

— Nose outline and squash tail provide Shortboard performance

— Maximum carving delivered via pulled down thin rails

— Hard release edges in the tail for direct acceleration and light feel, with softer rails in the nose for smooth surfing

— Maximum stability delivered via slightly domed deck blending into thin rails

— Speed and drive enhanced via single concave entry that transitions into a single double concave mid section

— Bottom and rail shape provides ultimate grip allowing for smaller fins

— Prevention of nose diving provided via the real surf scoop rocker line and added nose kick

— Five Futures boxes gives Quad / Thruster Fin setup option

— Mastfoot insert for windsurfing option

— Precision through CAD design

The Stubby represents a new approach to Waveboard design. Inspired by modern surfing concepts with a compact outline and more parallel rails, the Stubby combines stability and ease of use with speed and radical responsiveness. A new sensation that will give you a blast!

Since the beginning of the year 2014 we started experimenting with the concept of shorter, more parallel outlines with super wide nose and tail sections. What started as a fun project quickly became an exciting reality. The wide nose enables a longer and cleaner rail line, which gives loads of hold on the wave face and through the turns even though the board is quite short. The extra stability allows for less volume and a slightly narrower center. The double diamond tail – which we reduced over time to a functional width – provides the grip to dig deep in tight carves and hacks into the pocket. A surfy rocker line offers all the fast reactions and flow you’d expect from a high performance wave toy. The wide nose and tail enables the rider to select a slightly smaller board in terms of length and volume (as an example, the Stubby 8’2” is comparable to an 8’9” ProWave). Both sizes are available in our incredible Carbon Innegra LTD construction to round off this powerful package.

K E Y F E A T U R E S

— Straighter, more parallel outline for a cleaner waterline and reduced drag

— Short and wide Stubby-Nose – reduced to the boards effective lengths – for maximum stability, reduced swing weight, fast change of direction, as well as easy recovery

— Pulled down thin rails for maximum carving

— Hard release edges in the tail for direct acceleration and light feel, with softer rails in the nose for smooth surfing

— Lightly domed deck for maximum stability blending seamlessly into the thin rails

— Single concave entry, transitioning into a single / double concave mid section through to the tail enhancing speed and drive

— Bottom, rail shape and the double diamond tail provide ultimate grip allowing for smaller fins

— Quad / Thruster Fin setup option with five Futures boxes

— Precision through CAD design

— Mastfoot insert for windsurfing option

The name say’s it all! The AllWave range will give you a blast wherever you decide to take it. Available in seven sizes – from the snappy 7’11” to the floaty 9’8” – we guarantee unbeatable fun in all types of waves. It’s easy-peasy surfing action with surprisingly radical performance attributes.

The 2016 AllWave range is built on the success of the three, new smaller models we introduced in 2015. The wider, thinner and more compact shapes provide an easy yet highly responsive ride.

Thinner rails and less volume deliver a grippy carve, while tight arcs and supreme slashing abilities are supported by the wide, compact outline and the snappy squash tail. The fast rocker line and stable stance offers straightforward wave catching characteristics and good speed, leaving you to focus 100 % on the wave.

The four new larger sizes follow these design attributes, but feature a different rocker / bottom combination to please the heavier rider and offer the easiest possible entry into the waves. These models smoothly increase in length and volume per size, with minimal additional width. The result is smooth waveriding and flow all the way up to the 9’8”. Whether conditions are choppy, small and testing or true overhead perfection, the AllWave is the ultimate tool for your enjoyment, ease and progression.

We offer the AllWave in our lightweight and high performance LTD construction, coming with a five box Quad and Thruster option across the range for maximum adaptability. It is also available in our impact resistant and top value HRS or Pure constructions, with five boxes in the smaller sizes and a Thruster setup in the larger sizes. All boards are equipped with a mastfoot insert for windsurfing option.

K E Y F E A T U R E S

W A V E A L L R O U N D

Heads up Longboard riders! If you’re into the classic style of Longboard surfing, this beauty will win over your heart after the first ride. A Stylemaster from nose to toe, with an insane glide!

As a classic noserider, this board is more influenced by Longboard surfing than any other board in our range. A low entry scoop-rocker line, harmonic surfing curve, lightly domed deck and zero compromise surfboard rails are the ingredients for the Stylemaster’s flow. The wide nose leaves plenty of room for creative riding, while its single concave into double concave / V bottom towards the tail supports the incredible wave catching potential of this crowd pleaser.

The drawn-in tail is complemented by a 2 + 1 (sidebites plus Single Fin) Longboard fin setup. Easy to paddle, its super advanced surfing potential allows the deepest carves and flow, whilst you style up and down the wave with your toes ›hanging loose‹. Available in our beautiful and supreme Wood Edition and classic length of 10’0”, the deluxe deck pad for cushioned steps is strategically placed in the main stance area for added comfort.

K E Y F E A T U R E S

— Super thin surfing style rails for full bite in the turns and on the face of the wave

— Thin, slightly domed Longboard style deck

— Wide nose for a pure noseriding experience

— Classic smooth Longboard rocker and outline

— Single concave entry transitioning into double concave / V bottom for super early catching and a smooth glide

A L L R O U N D

The quintessential SUP range for everyone. From newbie to the more experienced paddler, the Fly’s all-round shape provides an effortless, smooth glide across flat water including small to mid-sized waves. SUP fun on the Fly!

The Fly family comes in a broad range of sizes and constructions to accommodate every individual’s needs. Evolved from the early days of the sport, these shapes combine all levels of experience. From those first steps on a SUP, all the way through to those who have been taking part in the sport since the beginning.

Four classic pintail shapes – starting with the new 9’6” for lighter / medium weight riders, up to the brand-new super stable and floaty 11’2”, that gives the greatest deal of buoyancy – will have you cruising comfortably into every wave you desire. The lower entry scoop-rocker line offers smooth paddling, while direct turning is supported by a more pronounced curve in the tail. A well balanced and wide volume distribution caters for easy steps back and forth on the deluxe deck pad, whilst riding the wave in a Longboard style. The V bottom holds great yet controlled speeds and supports the efficient rail to rail performance, defined by the rail’s shape. These attributes are clean and consistent throughout the Fly line.

The medium 10’6” is available in the classic and wide body version (WB), carrying one extra inch of width for additional stability and float. Whilst all Fly’s can be used for windsurfing (excluding 10’6” WB), the 11’2” comes in two versions, one of which features a sealable center fin option, making this board the ultimate transformer from SUP to Windsurf and vice versa.

Whether it’s breezy or glassy, you and your loved ones will be out there enjoying that highly sought after glide on the water. All five models are available in our light yet strong High Resistance Skin (HRS), as well as our top value Pure construction. In addition to this, we offer the 9’6” and the classic 10’6” model in our superlight and precious Wood Edition (WE).

K E Y F E A T U R E S

— New 9’6” shape to widen the popular Fly range for lighter / medium weight riders

— New 11’2” shape to combine the previous 11’0” and 11’6” into one wider and even more user-friendly board – available in standard and Center Fin version

— 10’6” available in classic and WB shape, with added volume and width for extra buoyancy and stability

— CAD sculpted balance flow curves

— True surfing rocker line with a flat into full V bottom for engaging carving sensations off the tail

— Low nose entry for effortless wave catching and glide

— Flat deck with volume pulled out to the rails for stability

— Sharp tail edges with softer rails up the nose for smooth power riding and drive through the turns

— Wood Edition and HRS with 2 + 1 Futures Side Fins plus US Center Fin setup (Fly Pure with US Single Fin)

— All boards (except the 10’6” WB) come with mastfoot insert for windsurfing option

RAY WERAY PURE

T O U R I N G

Outstanding stroke efficiency and a racing style waterline are combined with ease of use and the stability of an all-round cruiser to create the Ray – the ultimate touring experience.

Whether it’s exploring miles of coastline, lakes, channels or rivers the Ray glides effortless into new territories. The sharp bow cuts through the water like a Raceboard, a higher entry nose keeps the deck dry, whilst the width and volume in the rails cater to an easy and incredibly stable ride. The Rays’ waterline is maximized through its stretched outline, a wide nose and stable squaretail. The rocker line – inspired from our Race Series – releases the water fluidly for an uninterrupted paddle stroke. O C E A N R A C E

The 2016 Falcon is the weapon of choice in all-round SUP racing. From flat water to extreme open ocean conditions, the Falcon will get you there first.

Our international Design- and Race-Team invested a huge amount of effort to develop the new Falcon models, which represent a great step forward in Raceboard design. The overall speed during a race is influenced largely by the way the board gets on and over chop while maintaining a clean and long waterline. That’s why we put great focus on the rocker line and the nose area of the board. While the low rocker entry with a smooth curve throughout the board ensures a maximum speed waterline in marginal chop and flat water conditions, the nose area features high apex rails with a rounded bottom that just glides over any chop and skims across the water beautifully maintaining an uninterrupted and incredibly fast glide when conditions get rough. This combination results in a massive performance advantage and at the same time offers easy non self-steering paddling and forgiving re-adjustments when catching runners. Hard edges from center to tail ensure stability and a clean water release. The open flat-V deck allows for quickest manoeuvres, while side wind effects are reduced to the minimum by the new low volume bow. Acceleration and response time of the 2016 Falcon is enhanced by its feather light construction of carbon sandwich. The new Falcon comes in width of 24.75” and 26.75” in both 12’6” and 14’0” – joining our two accessible 29.75” wide Falcons in the respective lengths. The 14’0” features a drop-pintail outline for maximum control and low drag release, while the wider tail of the 12’6” offers great turning abilities – the winning formula when your path to the podium leads through the surf. All six Falcons come with a specially designed RTM Race fin.

The 2016 Falcon is incredibly fast from flat water all the way to rough and choppy conditions and an absolute pleasure to paddle in extreme Downwinders – if you are lucky enough to get them.

K E Y F E A T U R E S

STRIKE

F L A T W A T E R R A C E

The Strike is a zero compromise long distance flatwater racing machine. Developed for pure function and top average speeds, it’s the formula needed to win races.

After intense research and development over the last year, including hydrodynamic studies and diligent testing of our Pro Team, our Falcon flatwater line evolved into the Strike. A line that consists of two highly tuned 14’0” feet carbon hulls in widths of 24” and 26.75”.

A deep cutting bow flawlessly separates both glassy and choppy waters, whilst the rounded bottom into V releases the tail so it can glide unhindered across the surface. The new nose section is key for the high average and top speeds that are easily maintained with the Strike. The flaps on either side keep the nose up and the waterline clean and uninterrupted with each stroke. As a consequence, we were able to reduce the rocker curve to a minimum, which resulted in a maximized waterline for super consistent glide, a winning factor from start to finish. The new bow design prevents water coming onboard, as a result we were able to reduce the curve of the deck. Less sensitivity to wind and chop are additional improvements to further extend your lead when conditions get rough. A wide squaretail offers quick turning and extra stability in all situations.

Our high tech Carbon Technology and a specially designed RTM Race Fin underline our relentless pursuit of perfection in SUP racing design.

K E Y F E A T U R E S

— Minimum curved scoop rocker line from tail to nose for maximized waterline and clean release

— Narrow, parallel outlines for the best combination of speed, low drag and stability

— Deep cutting bow combined with new rail-flaps for optimized water dispersal and limited nose diving for a constant water flow

— Wide square tail allows for quick kick turning and additional stability

— Lightly round bottom shape for highest speeds, transforming into a V in the tail for stable and neutral behavior

— Flat V-deck shape in the standing area for quick water drainage

— Volume pulled all the way to the rails for maximum stability

— New low volume curve in the nose to minimize side wind effects and reduced nose weight

— CAD analyzed precision

FLY AIR FIT& PLATFORM

The Fanatic Island is a very exciting concept, and as a yoga teacher and SUP-Yoga / Fitness developer, I was very keen to get on it and try it out, especially with my

fellow Fanatic team mates in the South of France!

We found some ideal and stunning locations, coves and beaches around Carro in the south of France, ideal for pumping up and planting the Island and Fit boards, doing a group SUP-Yoga session, then going exploring, paddling around the beautiful coastline and coves, and returning to our Island base to stretch out tight muscles

and have a floating relaxation after all that paddling!

Special Thanks to Le Mas Camping Côte Bleue

BREATHE, PADDLE, FLOAT, STRETCH. It’s simple. See you at the Island! Namaste.

KIRSTY JONES

On the days when the wind started to exceed 40 knots, we took the Island and Fit boards to the Le Mas camping swimming pool for a peaceful SUP yoga session, floating in a lovely pool with the sun setting in the distance. A perfect compliment to a day spent paddling in the open sea, swell and wind.

I must admit, when I saw the strong wind forecast for Marseille and Carro, I was slightly concerned and skeptical about being able to do a SUP-Yoga photoshoot! However, thanks to an excellent team, and fantastically designed platform and boards, there turned out to be many places and possibilities to pump up and do it!

Thanks to this great innovation from Fanatic, we managed to find our balance and stable base, to connect with the ocean and elements, and tune up the body and mind.

A small turquoise river rises up in the middle of the Alps close to Austria, and the cold, wild water rushes through a narrow canyon. The moss covered stones transform the dangerous canyon into a magical fairytale landscape. The river flows from a right turn to a left turn, and then right again like a water slide.

ALL YOU CAN HEAR IS THE SOUND OF THE RUSHING WATER AND THE HEARTBEAT PUMPING. The water level was perfect as it had been raining on the previous days. We only had one day, as the dangerous Bavarian Alps thunderstorms were forecasted to return by the evening. In the panorama of the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, we eventually found our starting point. I paddled down the mountain river on the brand new Rapid Air. The river has a downward flow angle of 12 % – in a class of its’ own. This beautiful trip was once again proof that with the right equipment it is possible to have a really great experience, with minimal danger.

Page 81: SUP Brochure 2016

Pompous, unique and world famous – welcome to the capital of Germany. Fanatic riders Paulina Herpel, Phine Scheibe, Kai-Nicolas Steimer and Klaas Voget paddled the Fat B at the Spree. »Sorry, this is the end«. »End?« »Yes, you are not allowed to paddle further, unless you have a radio set and a motor on board!« It seems like the rules are pretty strict on German Chancellor Angela Merkels’ doorstep … especially when a visit from Israel is taking place. Patrick, our local contact, had already

warned us »if you want to paddle through the government district you have to get up very early!« We turn around and paddle in the direction of the Victory Column, as slowly life around us seems to begin, and the first tourists show up at the riverside.

It’s pretty cool to quietly paddle far away from the hustle and bustle we are used to from this big city. Berlin is known as a hip city all over the globe. We stop at the Dome and buy some wraps where we see

tourists from all countries. Before taking the underground to the Technology Museum, we stop at the Neptune fountain for a quick cool down. After that we carry on to the Oberbaumbrücke to paddle with the »Molecule Man« figures. It was not very easy to get access to the Spree, but eventually we hit it directly next to the famous Badeschiff pool. As the sun slowly set over Berlin, we stopped at the Club of Visionaries for a quick sundowner. For sure we will be back Berlin – that was fun!

Touring, exploring and discovering is part of what makes Stand Up Paddling so fascinating. The Ray Air is the inflatable version of our Ray – a cruiser with immense glide to get you into new territories comfortably.

With similar characteristics to its solid equivalent, the Ray Air has a maximized waterline that combines both stability and glide. The two sizes of 11’6” and 12’6” are significantly faster than last years Fly Air Touring, thanks to a reduced tail width resulting in a cleaner flow of undisturbed paddle strokes. The center width of 31” and 32” make both models very easy to paddle and to keep your balance on, even if you’re a first timer. The optimized thickness of the Ray Air has improved it’s rigidity without additional air pressure, while the extra volume keeps you up and dry.

We’re offering the Ray Air in two high quality constructions; our light weight and durable Stringer Technology, which comes with additional colour rail support and a lower price point, as well as our Premium construction – the state of the art of inflatable SUP Double Layer Technology. With a reduction in weight of around 20 – 25 % when compared to a standard double layer construction – it’s significantly stiffer in comparison to the single layer iSUP – you won’t find anything better.

The Ray Air Premium comes in a new Wheely Backpack combo with easy entry zipper and all the convenient straps and compartments you need to carry your Ray Air Premium. A mastfoot insert for optional windsurfing rounds off the Premium package. The Ray Air is packed in our organized standard backpack with padded straps and all the toys and features in place.

Both models are easy to inflate with our new ergonomic Fanatic Power Pump.

K E Y F E A T U R E S

FALCON AIR

I N F L A T A B L E R A C E

A long and narrow waterline, stiff and still lightweight – that’s what counts when it comes to SUP racing. With our new high-tech Double Layer Light Technology we’re as close as it gets to the performance of our Carbon Falcon range – just in a way more convenient way to transport your missile.

To povide a race winning machine for the major board classes for every riders size, we’re offering two Falcon Air 12’6” (26.5” and 29” wide), as well as two 14’0”-footer in the same widths. The pre-bent cuttom curve is adjusted to the boards natural bend when the rider is up and racing. Through an optimized thickness we achieved an even higher stiffness, while saving about 20 – 25 % of weight with the new technology. With increased volume the stability and floatation is all-time for such narrow boards. The immense glide and efficiency of the Falcon Air ensures that you are far in front of the rest when crossing the finish line.

Produced in our new Premium Construction the Falcon Air comes with the best possible ratio of stiffness and light weight. Transport and packing issues are over with our new wheely / backpack combo includuding an easy entry zipper and all the convenient straps and compartments, accomodating also the new ergonomic Fanatic Power Pump and the moulded tool-free US-Box Race Fin.

UNION CONNECTION

CONSTANT CURVE FLEX

PADDLES WITH POWER

You’re only as fast as your weakest link – and with the new reworked and highly tuned Fanatic paddle range, we can guarantee that link won't be in your hands. With precision and care we have designed paddles in new materials and new optics which are strong and light, with the perfect amount of flex to deliver maximum power while allowing you to paddle in total comfort and style. We offer the perfect choice from beginner to pro – for both genders, every size and age. Grab a Fanatic paddle and take a stroke!

FANATIC UNION JOINT SYSTEM VS. CLASSIC JOINT SYSTEM

In the past, all paddle flex patterns were made up of two parts: the blade, and the shaft. These two flexible parts were disrupted by an oversized stiff joint, where paddle and shaft were connected. The Fanatic Union paddle has revolutionised the unified flex pattern. It now runs seamlessly from the tip of the blade all the way to the shaft. By moving the connection joint further up the shaft, it tapers perfectly into a RDM joint, resulting in constant flex for an unmatched spring and response with every stroke. From the moment the blade enters the water your energy is converted into forward drive. The Union paddle is available in four construction styles for a straightforward selection of paddles to match your performance and budget.

The Carbon Pro paddle is available in both 7.25” and 8” blades. Each has an integrated ABS blade protector and is available in fixed or adjustable shaft lengths.

CARBON 80Our Carbon 80 is the high performance choice for the ambitious paddler. Top flex and response is guaranteed for effortless handling through an 80 % Carbon blade and shaft plus additional Kevlar shaft webbing. Available in 7.25” and 8” blades, the Union system has the most supreme flex pattern running from the top of the handle to the tip of the blade. Fixed or adjustable shaft lengths, or even as adjustable 3-piece version, with a built in ABS blade protector, you’re sure to have the most effective paddle stroke on the water.
