‘Putting the grower in a good market position’ has been the mission of our company for many years. This strong focus, but above all, the commitment of our people, means that each year we can introduce new, strong and unique genetic material to the market. But your business, and ours, only flourish because consumers continue to buy plants and flowers. For this reason, during the past few years we have focused on creating ‘ambassadors’ for our products. An ambitious project, that we can only realise with that same commitment to the grower and in collaboration with other partners in the chain.

It gives me great pleasure to say that with more than 200 employees in the Netherlands and another 100 in Tanzania we are still a dedicated and passionate team and that together we form a close-knit family-owned company. With considerable affection for our profession, from flower seed production to sales and from cultivation to seed technique, I have the audacity to state that all our employees are proud of our Cyclamen, Primula, Ranunculus or Campanula. These products have a long journey to make before they can beautify the consumers' home or garden. We also consider it to be part of our task to direct, together with you, this dedication to promoting our further fruitful collaboration in the chain. Collaboration in which the grower is central – because, without growers there would be no product, without ambassadors no market.

However, the world is changing rapidly. Consumers make their purchases where and when they are inspired. But consumers are also increasingly demanding and order what they want, when and where it is convenient. The traditional floriculture sector is diminishing. A new equilibrium is emerging between supply and demand and where these intersect. Together with you and the other partners in the chain we continually endeavour to be one step ahead of these new trends and developments. The main objective remains: value-creation and improved return on investment for all links in the chain.

Grâce à la grande focalisation et surtout à l'implication de nos collaborateurs, nous sommes en mesure de commercialiser chaque année de nouveaux produits robustes et remarquables, issus de notre sélection génétique. Mais notre droit à l'existence, et le vôtre, est surtout dû au consommateur qui continue d'acheter des fleurs et des plantes. Par conséquent, notre entreprise s'est également focalisée ces dernières années sur la création d'"ambassadeurs". Je suis fier d'affirmer qu'avec plus de 200 collaborateurs aux Pays-Bas et 100 collaborateurs en Tanzanie, nous avons toujours une équipe passionnée et impliquée et formons une entreprise familiale soudée. Avec une grande passion pour le métier, de la production de graines de fleurs à la vente et de la culture à la technique semencière, j'ose affirmer que tous les collaborateurs sont fiers de nos cyclamens, primevères, renoncules ou campanules. Des produits qui parcourent un long chemin avant de trouver leur place sur la table ou dans le jardin du consommateur. Le rayon traditionnel de fleurs et de plantes disparaît. Un nouvel équilibre est créé entre l'offre, la demande et le point de jonction. Avec vous et les autres partenaires de la chaîne, nous essayons à chaque fois de joindre nos efforts et de saisir cette nouvelle tendance. L'objectif essentiel : la création de valeur et l'amélioration du rendement pour tous les maillons de la chaîne.

Già da diversi anni la missione più importante della nostra azienda è di 'posizionare al meglio il coltivatore sul mercato'. Questa forte spinta, ma soprattutto il coinvolgimento dei nostri collaboratori, ci permette ogni anno di introdurre costantemente sul mercato una genetica nuova, efficace e speciale. Ma la vostra e la nostra ragione d'essere risiedono soprattutto nel consumatore stesso che continua a comprare fiori e piante. Questo negli ultimi anni ha permesso a noi, come azienda, di impegnarci con consapevolezza nella creazione di 'ambasciatori'. Un obiettivo ambizioso che può anche, e soltanto, essere raggiunto con quello stesso coinvolgimento verso il coltivatore e in collaborazione con altri partner della catena.

Collaborazioni in cui voi, come coltivatori, occupate un posto centrale. Senza coltivatore infatti non esiste alcun prodotto, senza ambasciatori non esiste alcun commercio.

Ma il mondo, si sa, cambia rapidamente. Il consumatore compra il suo prodotto laddove ne viene ispirato. Allo stesso tempo però è anche sempre più esigente e compra dove vuole equando vuole. Lo scaffale tradizionale di fiori e piante sta scomparendo, nasce un nuovo equilibrio tra domanda e offerta, e il punto in cui esse si incontrano. Insieme a voi e agli altri partner della catena cerchiamo ogni volta di unire le forze, affrontando al meglio questa nuova tendenza. Lo scopo principale è la creazione di valore, e il miglioramento del rendimento per tutti gli anelli della catena.

Climate conditions influence the time required to cultivate our Super Serie. So it is important to take the specific climate conditions at your nursery into account when deciding which of our varieties to grow.

COOL CLIMATESCool climate conditions can best be compared to the cool to temperate sea climates. Key characteristics here are the relatively small temperature differences between summer and winter and precipitation throughout the year. In the driest month of the year, there is at least 30 mm precipitation, in the warmest month, the average temperature is below 22°C.

WARM CLIMATESWarm climate conditions are those similar to a Mediterranean or warm sea climate with warm summers and mild, wet winters. In the driest summer month there is an average of 30 mm precipitation; in the wettest winter month the average is at least three times as much. In the warmest month of the year the average temperature is at least 22°C. For warmer climates we have specially developed a Solar variety in some series. Check the product pages to see for which products a Solar variety is available and can be ordered.

The climate tables for warm and cool conditions serve as a guide when making your choice for a particular Super Serie variety. Due to the considerable variation in regions and climates, it is not possible for us to describe all circumstances in detail. Our growing consultants would be happy to advise you for your specific cultivation circumstances.

Les conditions climatiques ont une influence sur la durée de culture de notre Super Serie. Lors du choix d'une variété, il importe donc de tenir compte des conditions climatiques spécifiques de votre entreprise horticole.

CLIMAT FROIDLes conditions climatiques froides correspondent le mieux au climat océanique froid à tempéré. Ses principales caractéristiques sont les différences de températures relativement faibles entre l'été et l'hiver, et les précipitations réparties sur toute l'année. Dans le mois le plus sec de l'année il tombe au moins 30 mm ; dans le mois le plus chaud de l'année la température moyenne est inférieure à 22 degrés Celsius.

CLIMAT CHAUDLes conditions climatiques chaudes correspondent à un climat maritime méditerranéen ou chaud avec des étés chauds et des hivers doux et humides. Dans le mois d'été le plus sec il tombe en moyenne 30 mm de pluie ; dans le mois d'hiver le plus humide c'est en moyenne au moins trois fois plus. La température moyenne du mois le plus chaud de l'année est d'au moins 22 degrés Celsius. Pour les climats plus chauds, nous avons développé une version Solar pour certaines séries. Compact is unique. The plant quality is indisputable, and the tremendous number of blooms captures the imagination. Available in no less than 28 colours. This year we have improved the colours Salmon Red, Light Neon Pink, Wine Red, Salmon Flamed, Wine Red Flamed and Fuji Dark Violet.

The first Fuji colours were available in the Compact series. There's a special effect in the tips of the blooms, they fade out to white: just like the snow-covered tip of Mount Fuji! This colour was first discovered by Japanese cyclamen breeders – so it just had to be named after Japan’s famous mountain.

Our Super Serie starts with Original. The characteristic genetic material is anchored in this plant which we call Original because it is the origin of our Super Serie. The abundant blooms, round plant structure and the long flower life provide exceptionally long flowering pleasure. For example, we once counted no less than 165 blooms on a single plant! All fifteen colours are characterised by their regular blooms. Original is the foundation of the Super Serie at Schoneveld Breeding.
