FOCUS ON THE GOSPEL: GROW—REACH—LIVE

And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name Jesus for He will save His

people from their sins (Matt. 1:21). GOOD NEWS, GOOD NEWS, the gospel is the

good news that Jesus has come into the world to save us. For the grace of God that

brings salvation has appeared to all men teaching us that denying ungodliness and

worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age (Titus

2:11-12).

So to enjoy the salvation that God gives us there are some things we must do; deny

ungodliness and worldly lust, and live soberly, righteously and godly. Let us back up

and start with obeying the Gospel first. Before you can live for God you have to

become a Christian by obeying the Gospel. So when they had testified and

preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem preaching the gospel in

many villages of the Samaritans (Acts 8:25).

Then Paul said, “ in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God,

and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ”. Let me break it

down; the Gospel consists of FACTS to be believed, COMMANDS to be obeyed and

PROMISES to enjoy. The FACTS: Death, Burial and Resurrection (1 Cor. 15:1-4). The

COMMANDS: Hear the gospel (Heb. 4.2) Believe the gospel (Heb. 4:3) Repent of

past sins (Mk. 1:14-15) Confess past sins (Rom. 10:9-10) Baptism (Acts 2:38). The

PROMISES: Remission of sins (Acts 2:38) Eternal Life (Jn. 3:16) (1 Tim. 6:11-12).

In order to GROW, REACH, and LIVE it begins with knowledge of who God is and

what He has done, and what we must do to be saved.

portunity to support our

Keith prepares a deli-

cious meal. The teens help with the

dessert, drinks and clean-up. All

proceeds go to the accounts of stu-

dents who help. There is no set fee

but your generous checks should be

made to Tampa Youth Missions.

Perdigon.

NLBS…

Our hearts struggle against ancient

chains. We know that we are meant

to soar, fly free, and experience

deep joy, but the reality of our lives

often feels claustrophobic and stale.

Walking through the Exodus reveals

the captors that try to grab at our

souls, and opens a pathway straight

into the heart of God. He is passion-

ate about us. He will fight battles,

slay enemies, shake prison cells, and

break chains in order to make us

completely His own. Join us in

Neighborhood Ladies Bible Study

this coming Wednesday, at 10:00AM

in Fellowship 2. We will be using a

study guide by Casandra Martin enti-

tled, SET FREE. Cost for the study

guide is $10; childcare for infant - 5

years old is available. Please see

Rama Patterson for your study

guide, and let her know if you will

need childcare.
