WE LIVE FOR THIS

From our humble beginnings over 25 years ago in the sleepy coastal town of Santa Cruz to becoming a globally recognized brand, we have never lost sight of who we are and what we do. We are part of a global community of surfers, shapers, designers, and craftsman who are connected through surfing and the pursuit of perfection. We take pride in every board we make and celebrate the millions of waves around the world that have been ridden and look forward to being a part of the lineup for years to come.

We are Surftech The Original Board Manufacturing Company and We Live For This.

TECHNOLOGY

HYpERDRIVE-EpOxY TECHNOLOGY HyperDrive Epoxy (HD-E) surfboards start with our time tested waterproof Fused-Cell EPS foam core. The Fused-Cell core is laminated with a layer of 6 oz and a layer of 4oz “K” cloth on the deck and a single layer of 4oz “K” cloth on the bottom (6oz “K” Cloth on boards over 8’0) combined with our proprietary HD-Epoxy, giving them an incredibly high strength-to-weight ratio. All this makes a Surftech HyperDrive Epoxy Surfboard your go to board for all conditions.

pOWERFLEx Each POWERflex board begins by building a custom, dual density foam blank. At the core is Surftech’s time tested Fused-Cell waterproof EPS foam. We add HD “Hour-Glass” rails that are integrated into the Fused-Cell core for added strength and a unique flex pattern unlike a standard EPS surfboard. The deck is laminated with a layer of 6 oz and a layer of 4 oz “K” cloth while the bottom lamination is a single layer of 4oz “K” cloth (6oz “K” Cloth on boards over 8’0) combined with our proprietary HD-Epoxy.

ASA (SOFTOp) Surftech’s ASA Softop construction has earned a loyal following with proven performance and value. Softop surfboards feature Surftech’s Fused-cell EPS core that is laminated with multiple layers of high-quality fiberglass and epoxy resin along with added reinforcement along the rails, nose and tail. Safe and easy to maintain, ASA technology combines unparalleled durability with proven designs topped with a soft and safe EVA foam deck.

BLACkTIp Not your average Soft Surfboard. Constructed with the beginner in mind, Blacktip boards start with our Proprietary Fused-Cell EPS foam core, we embed two high quality wood stringers into the core for increased rigidity then wrap the core in a soft, water-resistant foam skin with built in traction.  Soft, safe, and versatile, Blacktip surfboards are the ultimate board to introduce people of all ages to the sport of surfing.

TL pRO CARBON Carbon composite construction combined with our Fused-cell EPS core, TL Pro Carbon (TLPC) utilizes a proprietary stringer system that is custom built to each individual board. Strategically positioned carbon reinforcement laminated over a layer of high-density foam strengthens the board while creating the lively flex pattern that can only be found in our TLPC technology.

We have curated a collection of the very best in

surfboard design and technology for 2015. Our

new lineup brings together shapers, designs,

and styles that represent the very best in high

performance, everyday wave riding and once in

a lifetime experiences to deliver a board for every

surfer in the lineup.

CHANNEL ISLANDS

Master shaper and creator of world famous Channel Islands Surfboards, Al Merrick’s boards are the choice of top level surfers worldwide, including everyone from Tom Curren to 11X Champ Kelly Slater.Since 1969, Channel Islands Surfboards has been dedicated to performance and quality through hard work, innovation, and originality.

Over the last 43 years, Channel Islands has grown from a local grass-roots operation to a cutting edge organization, catering to the best surfers in the world. It started with hard-core surfing and quality in mind and these guidelines have brought us through four decades of constant change in the surf industry.

NEW FLYERTLPC / FCS / 2+1 FIN

In 1999, Al Merrick designed the Flyer, revolutionizing high performance surfing in small waves. For 2015 Channel Islands has modernized the Flyer into a shorter and wider package. This new plan-shape allows for the same volume in a shorter rail line. We kept the forgiving 2-stage rocker and added spiral vee starting in front of the fins to allow for rail-to-rail quickness. The signature Merrick hip provides a pivot point for tight arcs.

Sometimes we want something simple, fun, and easy to ride. Light single concave for the first 1/3 to deepening concave vee throughout. The Average Joe can be surfed off the rail or tail that has Al’s signature hip tail template to keep drive. Full rails keep high volume in a short outline. Increase wave count, make more sections. The Average Joe is geared towards the things that makes surfing fun.

BISCuITTLPC / FCS / TRI FIN

A short and stubby tri-fin: the biscuit design was developed with Rob Machado in 2007. Like Rob, the Biscuit rides free and easy in the smallest surf and catches waves like boards a foot longer. Voted SIMA board of the year for 2008. Ride your Biscuit 3” to 6” shorter than you are tall.

“…foam is your friend…don’t be scared of it. A little bit of extra foam here and there is good for the soul… and your surfing.” — Rob Machado

A good wave catcher, this mini-longboard bridges the gap between a performance oriented hybrid and a typical longboard. Low entry rocker for trimming and enough tail rocker to stay high performance. Bottom goes from flat entry with concave, to vee out the tail.

RuSTY

Rusty Preisendorfer is a big dude who has cast a massive shadow over the culture and business of surfing. Inspired by legends like Dick Brewer and Skip Frye, Rusty has turned artistic passion into one of the most recognizable brands in surfing history.

He was named one of the sport’s top-10 shapers of all time by Surfer Magazine and “Shaper of the Year” by Surfing Magazine. He shaped CJ Hobgood’s world championship quiver (at one point supplying boards for half of the ASP top-16); thus establishing himself as shaping’s eminent success story.

YES THANkSTLPC / FUTURES / TRI FIN

The newest addition to the Kerrlection series. A wider, fuller performance shortboard designed for knee to solid overhead surf. Continuous rocker through the bottom and a fairly deep single concave splitting into a double through the fins and off the tail. Also, a little wider tail block and an added bump in the outline at mid fins, which acts as a pivot point to enhance turning.

Walking the line between a fishy slab and a performance short board, the Dozer packs about as much volume as possible into the traditional shortie outline, with a couple unique tweaks that keep it lively.

SImON ANDERSON

In In 1980, while running Energy Surfboards, Simon Anderson ran into Frank Williams coming out of the water at North Narrabeen and with a board that would change the course of history forever. The board was essentially a twin fin with a strange little ‘half moon’ shaped fin on the tail, the board would become know as the Thruster, the longest continuous design in the history of surfboard design. Simon’s boards are all about control, stability and performance connecting the boards and the rider to the wave in perfect harmony.

EARLY BIRDTLPC / FCS / TRI FIN

The Early Bird is a great all around board featuring increased area in the nose and rounded squaretail, hidden by a streamlined shape. Fluid rocker flows into a speed inspired bottom shape featuring a deep single to double concave with slight vee at the tail. The combination allows you to easily generate speed and draw out turns or snap tight in the pocket.

xANADu

A shaper since the age of 15, Xanadu opened a surfboard factory at 17, operating it for the next five years. The next four years he traveled around the world surfing contests, free surfing, and shaping in countries like Australia, Japan, Hawaii, Indonesia, South and Central America, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, and Europe. He moved to Southern California permanently in 1987 and established what is now Xanadu Surf Designs.

OCTISquIDTLPC / FCS / 5 FIN

SWIFTTLPC / FUTURES / 2+1

The Octisquid takes its lines from a more traditional fish with a bit of a twist making it extremely maneuverable and very fun. The bottom features a single-to-double concave off the tail. The wings (or “stinger’s”) break the line of the rail to allow for better release when turning. Don’t let her strange looks fool you, this board is insane and a great small wave boards on the market.

This board has a relatively curvy entry rocker for a small wave board, but it has a pretty flat tail rocker which ensures massive amounts of speed and drive. This proven small wave rocker ensures speed, maneuverability, and forgiveness that allows for hyper aggressive surfing in the pocket and above it.

The Ultraglide & Superglide are all-around longboards designed to be stable, fast, and maneuverable. The foiled rails fool the water into thinking that the boards are thin, combined with subtle concave in the nose for smooth nose rides and advanced (forward) vee so you don’t have to be on the tail to turn. Both the Ultraglide and Superglide perform superbly in a wide variety of conditions and can accommodate a broad spectrum of skill levels. These boards are the result of more than 60 years of surfboard design experience.
