SWC – Southwest Cheese, Glanbia Foods: Clovis, New Mexico Assigned to perform on-site management of the $190 million dollar expansion to existing operations at Southwest Cheese. This expansion used only four of the eight scheduled plant shut downs and brought the existing operations from 7 million pounds of milk a day to 16.8 MPMD. Although built as a privately funded project, this expansion received strong support from both the state and local governments adding an extra layer of scrutiny to the process. Therefore bid package phasing was adopted allowing for the on-time start of the project. Clovis, NM is a remote site therefore it was determined that we would in-house perform all of the General use process piping, millwright, steam piping, plumbing, air and other mechanical systems. In addition we also self-performed the concrete and structural steel in addition to other elements to the overall benefit of the project. This allowed us to shift seamlessly from preconstruction and design management to project site management which was a critical element assisting in the early completion of the project. One note of interest is that the project suffered an almost crippling accident early on; although one that could have been devastating to both the project and our vendor, we were able to reconfigure the schedule, going instantly to around the clock construction operations and move the other slated shut-down work into this time frame. By quick thinking of our entire staff coupled with having these alternate plans drafted for such an event, allowed for the overall construction schedule to pick up time in-lieu of suffering a protracted delay. SWC – Southwest Cheese, Glanbia Foods: Clovis, New Mexico

Assigned to perform on-site management of the $190 million dollar expansion to existing operations at Southwest Cheese.

One note of interest is that the project suffered an almost crippling accident early on; although one that could have been devastating

to both the project and our vendor, we were able to reconfigure the schedule, going instantly to around the clock construction

operations and move the other slated shut-down work into this time frame. By quick thinking of our entire staff coupled with having

these alternate plans drafted for such an event, allowed for the overall construction schedule to pick up time in-lieu of suffering a

protracted delay. Existing plant operations were only impacted for a 24 hour period by the event.

Project has rail-spur installation, cross-dock, conveyors, robotic box, palletizers, wrappers, super-sack conveyors, hoist ways

scientific facilities, laboratory, clean room, air-showers & more.

The first block of cheese was delivered to the client four (4) months ahead of schedule with final completion being two (2) months ahead of schedule.

Sq. Ft. +/- 130,000 new – 305,000 total Cost total: +/-$190,000,000. Delivery: GMP / Design-Build Schedule: 16 months
