    A"stract

    Solid Waste Management (SWM) is considered as a major challengedin many urbanized and populated communities considering thecontinuous growth of world population and the increasing build-up andgeneration of solid wastes mainly by human activities. ence! this

    study was conducted to evaluate the current solid waste managementpractices of "#$#SMS%&' (Masbate State %ollege) in compliance withthe #cological Solid Waste Management &ct of (*.&. +,).*esults show that the school and the residents are not in fullcompliance with the law (*.&. +,) possibly due to lac of awarenesson proper and eective ways of managing wastes in the part of waste

    generators. /mplementers on the other hand! are faced with a numberof problems which hamper the adoption and0or compliance with thelaw. 'he results also entail that the school has a lot of wor to do tocomply with the mandated re1uirements.

    • Most of the initiatives and practices such as proper waste

    segregation! collection and transport! waste disposal andrecycling in "#$#SMS%&' range only from noneimplementation to moderate or partial implementation
