Syllabus for Mid Term Session- 2019-2020 Grade:2 Subject: English Allocation of Marks Weekly Test 40% Class Assessment 60 % Reading Skill: Comprehension (from the book and unseen): Should be able to read the texts and any unseen paragraph, understand the meaning of lexical items and answer the questions based on them. Writing Skill: Unseen compositions will be written on given topics such as picture description, narrative and descriptive compositions. Editing Skill: Students will be expected to identify the mistakes in given sentences and rewrite the sentences after correcting them (such as present tense, past tense and future tense) according to what has been taught in class. Describing words, Synonyms, Antonyms, Tense, Homophones: The students will learn to use describing words, synonyms, antonyms, correct tense and homophones in sentences. Vocabulary: Students will be expected to learn new words, their meaning and use in sentences. Spelling: Students will be expected to explore and write words that have the same spelling but different meanings. They will also learn to organize words or information alphabetically using first two letters.
