Class Assessment 60 %
Reading Skill: Comprehension (from the book and unseen passages), students should be able to
read texts, understand the meaning of lexical items and answer questions based on them.
Writing Skill: Unseen incomplete story for story completion will be given. Here, students are expected to write meaningful sentences and create distinct introduction, climax and ending.
Factual writing: Unseen Descriptive Essay or Narrative Essay will be given on a topic where
the students will describe or narrate the given topic.
Editing Skill: The students will be expected to identify mistakes in given sentences and rewrite
the sentences after correcting them (such as articles, modifiers, punctuation and tenses)
according to what has been taught in class.
Adjectives: The students will be able to use describing words in sentences.
Comparative and Superlative Adjectives: Students should be able to use the comparative and
superlative form of adjectives correctly while writing and speaking.
Punctuation: The students will be asked to punctuate an unpunctuated passage or sentences by
making necessary changes and respond to them when reading.
Vocabulary: The students will practise exercises based on Similes, Phrases and
Idioms,synonyms,and homophones.
Idioms & Phrases: The students are expected to frame meaningful sentences with the correct
use of idioms and phrases.
