Beghelli products must be used with light sources complying with the provisions of the mostrecent laws in terms of energy efficiency and environmental impact. When supplied with thelighting fixtures, the proposed lamps supplied comply with the provisions of the respectivelaws (reg 244/09, 245/09 and 1194/2012).

The highly technological identity and the value of the Beghellibrand are fully expressed in the project for the renewal ofemergency fixture light sources and now also of lighting. In theStella Polare project, the use of high-efficiency LEDs and acalibrated light beam produces adequate lighting while maintainingvery high energy saving.

The Luce Utile (Useful Light) philosophy springs from the need toobtain an ideal beam of light for lighting and emergency lightingthat gives the maximum possible light output. The optics havebeen specially designed to solve lighting problems on the groundwith a smaller number of fixtures, respecting the valuesenvisaged by the regulations in force.

After the great success of “Stella Polare LED Emergency”, we are

proud to present on the market the new Beghelli proposal for

ordinary, technical and industrial lighting, LED.

And so the “Stella Polare LED Light” line is born, which exploits the

continuous efforts our group has always dedicated to the search for

new ideas, maximum efficiency in optical and lighting performance,

with consequent important energy saving values.

We are certain that all experts in the sector – designers, architects,

wholesalers and installers – will recognise in the “Stella Polare LED

Emergency” and now in the Lighting project, the innovative spirit that

animates us, and will propose its advantages to their interlocutors

and customers to improve the quality of their life.

transforming it into a useful lighting fixture.All the light outside the controlled beam is just a waste of energy.

We give even more valueto Savings Each appliance can be fitted with a specificsystem for recording energy consumptiondata, designed to supply the necessaryinformation to bodies authorized by theEnergy Service Company (ESCo) in order toobtain Energy Saving Certificates (WhiteCertificates). Grande ESCo Italia has all thenecessary certifications and the technologycompatible with the Stella PolareSmartDriver system equipped with theGrande ESCO Italia Module.

From today, all the fixtures inthe Stella Polare LED line areequipped with SmartDriver,an electronic control gear ofthe latest generation. A newpoint of arrival for electronicintelligence linked to thelighting world.

Focus on functional expandabilityand high lighting performance:the management of every singlefixture can be customized byintegrating the appropriate SDbuilding automation Sensors orModules which can be individuallyconnected to the SmartDriver.

Luminaires in theemergencyworld

Building automation intelligenceThe system allows specific luminousscenarios to be set, linked to everydaysituations, or specially studied for carrying outparticular activities. The scenarios can beactivated both locally, with the BuildingAutomation Control unit connected toa PC, and in remote mode through a Webinterface, a Smartphone or a Tablet

Wireless controlWe reproduce all the functions of the mostmodern lighting systems, avoiding the layingof additional cables or BUS (e.g. DALI). Themodularity of the SmartDriver system allowsthe function to be activated with only theconnection of the Building AutomationModule, equipped with a radio antennaand programmed to activate as soon as it isconnected.

Self-adapting dimmerEach SmartDriver appliance, equipped withan Autodimmer Sensor, becomesautonomous in its basic functions: it managesthe lighting by automatically regulating theluminous intensity according to the natural orartificial light already present in theenvironment, with energy savings of up to30% greater than LED fixtures with a fixedlight intensity.

Dynamic detection of presences

A colour camera on board the appliance forthe active and multidimensional detection ofpresences frames the work area anddivides it into quadrants, individuallyconnected to automatic actions on thelighting system, given by the movement ofthe people. This exclusive characteristicpresent in the Vision Module allows thesystem to respect the Standard for theLighting of Workplaces UNI EN 12464-1. Theimages recorded can be downloaded bythe Building Automation Control unit.

The SmartDriver project allows a dialoguewith other communication protocols like theDALI. The special DALI Module / 0-10Vallows both DALI interfacing and 0-10Vanalogue dimming with direct control.

The steel housing and glass diffuser present bothexcellent mechanical resistance (IK09) and resistance to aggressivechemical agents. The H250/400 LED is a fixture of the latest generation able tocombine the advantages of the LED light source with state-of-the-artoptic systems, as regards both performance and flexibility ofapplication. The LED sources used, with very high efficiency, produceunprecedented lighting on the ground and allow mounting at heightsof more than 12 metres. The diffuser has an ample and uniform areaof emission, allowing very low luminosity and therefore reduced glarewith high visual comfort. The excellent mechanical characteristics(IP66-IK09) allow installation even in heavy-duty industrialenvironments. The fixture is available with three different optic modes:concentrating, wide and elliptical beam.Unlike traditional industrial louvre fixtures, the H250/400 LED ischaracterized by very compact dimensions, especially the height,which make it the ideal solution for sheds where there are overheadcranes or other moving structures. The fixture is designed to resistmagnetic disturbances typical of industrial environments (EN 61000-6-2). The SmartDriver is the heart of the Stella Polare LED dimmablelighting system, it automatically manages the Autodimmer sensornecessary for self-adjustment of the flux.As soon as the fixture is installed an automatic self-calibrationprocedure of the Autodimmer sensor is activated, based on thecontext in which it is positioned. The light reflected by the floor and by the illuminated objects ismeasured automatically; adjustment is based on thismeasurement, with the aim of maintaining the same quantity ofreflected light over time (see image). The reflected light is the sum of the light projected on the floor bythe light fixture and of the natural light present in the environment,

for example coming from windows and skylights: keeping this sumconstant, when the light in the environment increases, meansautomatically reducing the light emitted by the fixture, obtaininggreater energy saving.The fixtures in the Stella Polare LED line fitted with an Autodimmersensor incorporate the continuous self-calibration function whichis “self-adapting” to the changing environmental conditions inwhich they are used. Immediately after installation, the self-dimming system measuresthe reflection conditions in the environment where it is installed, andis able to estimate the correct mix of artificial and natural light, moreand more accurately as time passes.

Centralized activationA Control unit for managing predefined actions and scenariosSD fixtures, with the Stella Polare LED Building Automationmodule have an integrated antenna for the two-way exchangeof information with the Building Automation Control unit. Assoon as the Control unit is inserted in the system, it isimmediately recognized by the drivers of each fixture and areciprocal exchange of information begins, without activatingany further procedure. The system allows specific luminous scenarios to be set, linked todetermined everyday situations, or specially studied for carrying outparticular activities. The scenarios may be activated locally, throughradio or wired switches connected to the Building automationcontrol unit or, in remote mode, through a WEB graphic interface ordirectly by a Tablet or Smartphone. The possibility of programmingthe scenarios allows the system to be subdivided into groups offixtures, and ranges from the simple remote switching or or off ingiven time bands to the programming of customizable dimmingwith the aim of increasing the level of energy saving whilemaintaining safety in the workplace (for example at night the powercan be lowered in environments that still have to maintain aminimum level of lighting).

The fixtures with intelligent dimming in the Stella Polare LEDproject are able to check the presence of persons in the workarea, with additional presence sensors. Each fixture, or group offixtures, can be controlled by presence sensors, so that the lightincreases automatically and instantaneously in the presence ofpersonnel or vehicles.

Once the light has reached the programmed illumination value,this intensity is maintained for a set time. When this time haselapsed, in the absence of the operator, the luminosity returns tothe minimum value with a continuous ramp of decreasingillumination until it reaches the set level.

For example, each aisle in a warehouse may consist of ahomogeneous set of lighting fixtures controlled by one ormore presence sensors suitably distributed at the entrancesto the aisle.

In this way, whenever an operator or a forklift truck enters theaisle, all the light fixtures associated with that sensor increasetheir luminosity and then return to the programmed minimumlevel when the operators are no longer present.

THE VISION SYSTEM

Movement detectors and presence sensors are instruments thatincrease the energy efficiency of the electrical system in whichthey are installed.These devices are designed to adapt the consumption ofelectricity to the real lighting requirements: this means usingartificial lighting only when the sunlight is not sufficient and only forthe time in which anyone is present in the environment.This type of sensor works on its whole area of intervention, withoutconsidering the location of the persons inside, therefore deviatingfrom the requirements of Standard UNI EN 12464-1 whichdefines the subdivision into zones of a single work environment,

precisely marking off the various areas in a given location wherethe lighting can be lower than the main work station:

1. Visual task area

Part of the workplace environment where the visual task isperformed

2. Immediately surrounding area

Strip 0.5 m wide around the visual task area within the field ofvision.

3. Background area

Strip 3 m wide around the immediately surrounding area

This subdivision of each working environment into 3 areas has sofar been only theoretical due to the lack of simple and inexpensivetechnical instruments, which would allow light fixtures to “follow”people during their movements from one work station to another inthe same environment. From today this becomes possible with theVision Beghelli dynamic system for the detection of

presences which, when applied, allows the intelligent reduction ofthe lighting of part of the work environment, considerably increasingvisual comfort. The reduction of the power used also produces afurther 25% of energy saving compared to the latest generation ofsystems with LED technology and 90% with respect to fixtures withtraditional technology.

VISION TECHNOLOGY

The VISION System is radically different from ordinary presencesensors or movement detectors, for the technology used and theparticular situations of use that can adapt to the specificarchitectural and ergonomic requirements of the environment inwhich light fixtures fitted with the Vision Module are installed.

The operating principle of the Vision Module is based don theprocessing of video operation provided by the built-in microcamera:a dedicated algorithm subdivides the frame captured by the Moduleinto areas, each area obtained acts as though it were a movementsensor located in that area and activates the radio controls to therest of the system, depending on the presence of persons or ontheir movement within the same work environment.

The software is able to record the targeted movements ofpersons and moving objects, while it ignores insignificantmovements in the monitored area. Each environment can hostone or more fixtures equipped with the Vision Module; if morecameras are needed to “map” the whole location, each one ofthem is able to communicate the information processed to theother fixtures present in the same environment, which will followthe “orders” of the Module that manages the illumination of thearea. Like all movement detectors, the Vision Modules allow theadjustment of the switch-off delay, a characteristic which allowsthe level of environmental illumination to be kept constantlyunder control so as to switch on the artificial light, if the naturallighting is not sufficient, and to switch it off when the lightexceeds the set level, depending on the presence of persons in

the environment. This allows increased comfort, optimizingenergy consumption and, if necessary, it is possible to recoverthe images filmed by the Module for remote viewing of theevents that occurred. The image recovery function of the Visionsystem, especially in workplaces, is subject to specificregulations to which reference must be made in the event ofuse.

The Vision Modules are an integral part of the SmartDriver projectand can be fitted on most Beghelli light fixtures. The images takenare made active so as to subdivide each environment intosections, thus defining the various areas of the same premises,recognizing them according to where the personnel is located.

THE FLEXIBILITY OF THE VISION MODULE

The Vision Module can be integrated in any Stella Polare LED lighting system. Specific solutions are employed to adapt the cameraand electronics to the different characteristics of the individual fixtures.- Where the dimensions allow it, the Module is a component to be ordered separately that can be easily installed in the fixture.- In the case of fixtures with small dimensions, or to optimize the framing of the environment without being tied to the lighting system,

the Radio Module can be implemented, provided with a transmitter for communicating with the Control unit and controlling the otherappliances even if it is not fitted on any of them.

- When the Protection Grade component is of fundamental importance, and it is preferred not to intervene on the fixture, the solutionis provided by the special versions of products which already include the Module inside them (they can be recognized by the ordercode containing the letters VS).

RHOS DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC

In order to facilitate the recovery and recycling of electrical equipment and to avoid the accumulation ofhazardous substances in the environment, the European community issued the RHOS directive,acknowledged in Italy with the same decree as the WEEE directive, that is DM 151 of 25 July 2005. TheDirective was rewritten and issued with reference 2011/65 with new obligations for producers in termsof documentation. The substantial provisions remain unchanged:

Without prejudice to annex 5, as from 1st July 2006 it is forbidden to launch on the market new electricaland electronic equipment falling under the categories identified in annex 1A, as well as incandescent lightsources containing lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) orpolybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).

Exceptions and exemptions to this regulation are contemplated, in particular the veto on mercury is notapplied to compact fluorescent lamps and fluorescent tubes containing mercury in quantities notexceeding the allowed limits. WEEE DIRECTIVE 2002/96/ECThe quantity of waste derived from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is increasingly rapidly anda large part consists of light sources (excluding incandescent filament lamps).The main objective of the directive is to prevent WEEE thrown, at the end of their working life, into landfillor incinerators, causing a further serious impact on the environment. Directive 2002/96/EC has therefore sought to introduce a control mechanism which envisages acontrolled management of the device at the end of its working life, to encourage its reuse or recycling.The legislative mechanism also promotes design and production concepts that make product disposaleasier, in terms of both disassembly and materials.In the case of lamps, the financing of activities connected to the collection, management and recyclingof WEEE at the end of their working life is guaranteed by a visible fee applied at the moment of sale.

All passages in the commercial chain are required to make a contribution, some in economic terms, somein terms of activity, to ensure that the spirit of the directive is respected (and the environment isprotected).

In Italy the directive was acknowledged with decree 151 of 25 July 2005 and subsequently integrated inother implementing decrees.

THESE ARE THE PRINCIPAL OBLIGATIONS ENVISAGEDThe producer (understood in the broad sense and therefore substantially whoever applies his brand onthe goods and who imports from another country) is responsible for the costs of disposal of his productsat the end of their working life.The sales outlet is required to collect the product at the end of its working life if it replaced by a new oneof the same kind.The consumer is required to manage the item sensibly at the end of its life, consigning it to an equippedcollection point, a sales area, or following the manufacturer’s indications.

Beghelli has always been aware of the environmental problem and is one of the founder members of theECOLIGHT consortium, to which the company consigns all the collected visible contribution.

Choosing products and companies that rely on voluntary consortiums for the recovery and recycling ofproducts is a responsible and ecologically correct choice for the protection of the environment and for ourfuture.

1. ORDERS - FINALIZATION OF AGREEMENTSProduct purchase orders must be made in writing. Placing of an order is considered irrevocable. TheSeller reserves the faculty to fulfil orders also in part, or to cancel them, even any residual part, in theevent of a change of the situation of the Buyer. All collaboration programmes, orders, commissions andagreements are intended as finalized with the written or verbal confirmation by the Seller, or at any ratewith the start of invoicing and/or delivery of the products ordered.

2. VARIATIONS AND MODIFICATIONSAfter finalization of the order, any modification or integration of the content and terms of the order shallbe valid and become effective only when the Seller sends the Buyer a variation of the confirmation. Thetext of the confirmation or of the variation of the confirmation by the Seller shall prevail in any case overany other document.Should the Buyer not wish to accept the terms that differ from his order, he must point it out within 20(twenty) days of the date of confirmation, otherwise the variation of confirmation shall be deemedaccepted in full.

3. ACCEPTANCE PROCEDUREThe Seller cannot be held liable for non acceptance of an order, or for non delivery or delayed delivery ofthe products ordered. The acceptance and execution of the order are specifically subordinate to theavailability of the products ordered and to the absence of circumstances that could in any way influencetheir availability and the promptness of their delivery.

4. DELIVERY TERMSThe delivery terms communicated by the Seller are purely indicative.The delivery terms expressed in days are normally calculated in working days.Any modifications to the delivery terms requested by the Buyer must be accepted in writing by the Seller.Any delays in delivery, and any interruptions and/or total or partial suspensions of delivery, even if notdue to force majeure and/or act of providence, shall not entitle the Buyer to claim a refund for damagesand/or compensation of any kind nor even interest; the Buyer shall have the sole faculty to cancel theorder upon written notice to the Seller of at least thirty days counted from the date of receipt of theregistered letter with recorded delivery sent by the Buyer.

5. FORCE MAJEUREWithout limitation, the following are to be considered causes of force majeure: strikes, lockouts, rebellion,labour conflicts, fire, natural calamities, impossibility to provision products, interruptions or difficulties intransport, delayed deliveries, lack of raw materials, actions of the government and authorities, failure ofsuppliers and, in general, any unforeseeable event which cannot be reasonably considered to be underthe control of the Seller. In all such cases, as in the event of act of providence, the Seller reserves thefaculty to suspend and/or delay the delivery of the products and even to cancel the orders, even if alreadyconfirmed, without this entitling the Buyer to claim a refund from the Seller for damages and/orcompensation of any kind, including direct, indirect and consequential damage.

6. DELIVERY - TRANSPORTThe goods always travel at the Buyer’s own risk, even when sent carriage paid and/or with the Seller’svehicle, so the Seller shall not accept any complaints for any breakages and/or tampering with theproducts. Delivery of the products is considered made from the headquarters of the Seller at Monteveglio(Bologna). Transport expenses are borne by the Buyer. The Seller does not accept returned packaging.

7. COMPLAINTS - REPLACEMENT OF PRODUCTSFor replacements and complaints the safeguards contemplated by the law are applied, applicable to thespecific type of customer, professional operator or consumer. As soon as the products are received, theBuyer is required to check the condition, the quantity of the supply and to ensure that it corresponds tothe delivery note. Any complaints concerning quality, quantity or type of product must be made in writingwithin 8 (eight) days of the date of receipt of the goods. Once that time has expired, and without prejudiceto the various guarantee conditions envisaged for the individual products, no complaint can be maderegarding the substance and quality of the goods, or for their general conditions. The Buyer may for noreason return the products without prior authorization of the Seller in writing, nor delay and/or totally orpartially suspend payment of the invoices, not even in the case of complaints. Should there be groundsfor the complaint, in the Seller’s opinion, and if it has been made within the guarantee terms indicated inthe illustrative booklets that accompany the individual products, the guarantee obligation is limited to thesimple replacement of the non conforming product according to the delivery procedures of the firstsupply. Any right of the Buyer to cancel the order or to obtain any refund for expenses and/or damagesis therefore excluded. The right to replacement of the disputed product expires if the product is not keptdiligently, at the Seller’s disposal, and immediately returned to the place established by the Seller.

8. PRICESThe prices indicated in the Seller’s price lists are not binding, consequently the Seller reserves the rightto modify them until the time of delivery of the products.The prices are net of VAT and of any other fiscal dues.

9. PAYMENTSAll payments must be made at the times and with the methods indicated by the Seller to the latter’sheadquarters at Monteveglio (Bologna) or to the person indicated and duly authorized in writing by theSeller. In the case of a delay in payment, the defaulting buyer shall be required to pay the Seller interestfor arrears from the due date of the contractual term until the date of settlement, according to the prime-rate in force at the time (as determined by the Italian Banking Association - ABI) plus 5 (five) points,without prejudice to claims for further loss. Failure by the Buyer to respect the terms of payment shallentitle the Seller to terminate the respective supply contract with immediate effect and to suspenddelivery of all products that may be ordered without the need for any communication, with the consequentright for the Seller to demand the immediate payment of the entire credit and to take action for thecompensation of damage suffered.

10. LIEN AGREEMENTThe products are sold under a lien agreement; they shall therefore remain the property of the Seller untilfull payment has been made. The Buyer therefore undertakes to inform third parties of the existence and efficacy of this lienagreement, and to safeguard the Seller’s rights deriving therefrom.

11. COMPETENT COURTFor any controversy or dispute concerning the interpretation, validity and execution of the order, orconnected in any way to the contracts to which these general terms of sale apply, the exclusive competentcourt shall be the Court of Bologna.
