GENERAL RULES
1. Upper limit on expenditure:
1000 per student (for all except PGP-X)
1500 per participant (for PGP-X)
2. Any damage caused to the institutes assets like chairs, fans, plates etc. in any form will
attract severe penalties in the evaluation of the section. It would be the respective CRs
and the entire sections responsibility to inform CultComm about any damage as soon as
possible. The penalties will be as follows:
Up to 20% of days maximum possible section score:
o Breaking or rendering assets unusable 15%
o Defacing, paint or any other marks on any asset 5%
o Leaving classroom and other areas unclean 10%
o Any other damage Discretionary
Appropriate action by Student Activities Office
3. Pasting of section posters on any institute infrastructure and marketing in avenues apart
from those provided by CultComm are strictly prohibited.
4. All work should be done by section members only. No external professionals are allowed.
No outsiders, except spouses and children, are allowed to participate. CultComm should
be informed well in advance about the spouses who will be participating.
External professionals include make-up artists, choreographers, fashion designers,
painters, digital artists, professional photographers (not limited to this list).
Presence/Assistance of people from outside the IIM A community would not be
allowed during the entire event.
5. Sponsorships in cash/kind are allowed. But use your discretion before committing to
anything.
The sponsors names / logos can be printed on T-shirts and put up on the section
banners and T-Nite banner. Any other asset shall be allowed only after consultation
with CultComm.
During RJM Nite, sections can choose to hold exclusive banners of the sponsors.
6. The sequence of performances on any given day is at the discretion of the sections.
7. During every performance, members of the section will have to stand holding the sections
banners. They cannot be pasted anywhere.
8. The sections are responsible for removing leftovers from all places they use, failing which
penalties will be imposed. This includes cleaning CRs at night after the practice, LKP after
PUB-RUN, or any other place.

9. CultComm will provide the infrastructure (speaker system, lights, etc.) for all the days. The
operational aspects have to be handled by the sections themselves.
10. Sections should bring their own music in a pen drive and also submit it before the days
event start. Specific timing of submission of music and other things shall be shared. Not
adhering to deadlines will lead to penalties as below:
Music 10% of the days score
Banners, Posters, T-Shirts, Galleries 15% of the components score
11. No water, liquid paint, spray paint, fire, sharp object, inflammable substance, glass item is
to be used in any performance during T-Nite.
12. Any inappropriate behaviour at any point in submissions and performances during T-Nite
will not be tolerated. CultComm will have the authority to penalise inappropriate
behaviour.
Use of abusive language, outraging the modesty of any sex, improper gestures in print,
video or action etc.
SAC and Institute guidelines will be followed in case of any such event.
13. Any given days result will be sent through email by the next days morning and the final
days result will be announced along with the overall winner on Monday.
14. In case of any dispute, the decision of CultComm will be final.

Venue
Sections to assemble in LKP after the welcome performance by Music Club in RJM. The
contestants in the races shall start at the LKP and finish near the mess.
Component-wise Rules
Banana Bonanza: 2 participants
Of the two participants, one will have to eat as many bananas as possible in a period of one
minute. The second participant in each team will then be allowed to run to the mess, in
decreasing order of the number of bananas eaten (i.e. if section Y eats the most bananas, the
runner of section Y gets to go to the mess first).
Sack race: 1 participant, male
Each contestant must have both legs in a sack and hold the sack above their waist level or
higher at all times. If the sack falls below knee length, the contestant shall be disqualified.
3 legged race: 2 participants, both female
Two female participants will be tied at the ankle and will race towards the finish line. In case
the tie breaks/opens in the middle of the race, the participants will have to start again by
tying a new piece of rope.

Egg race: 2 participants
A relay race in which each participant will throw an egg to his/her teammate and race
towards the finishing line by repeating this successively. The participants are not allowed
to run with the egg. If the egg falls and breaks, the participants will start again with a new
egg from the starting point.
Surprise Component: 2 participants
Details will be provided later.
Graffiti
It is to be necessarily made on a chart paper of size 25 (will be provided).
Only one chart paper will be provided and the graffiti must be made only on that paper.
All other material for making the graffiti should be brought by the sections.
The duration for making the graffiti is a maximum of 20 minutes.
The chart paper will be put up in the mess with posters on the next day.
The graffiti will be on a vertical display.
It should be entirely handmade. Printed material is prohibited and will attract penalty.
Criteria for Evaluation:
General Rules
The participants of the races are responsible for reserving space in the mess which will
later be used to put up respective section posters.
Once the first participant reaches the mess, a countdown of 5 minutes will start, within
which the posters have to be put up.
Only the participants (and nobody else) can enter the mess. When the time ends,
everybody must leave the mess immediately.
There will be CultComm members to guide/monitor you in the mess complex.
The space that you intend to reserve for the section has to be completely covered with
paper (within specified dimensions) which clearly identifies the section. Hence section
name should be mentioned on the paper. Any open space will be up for grabs
You can occupy as much space as you wish but use only standard size sheets to reserve
it, which is a 2-sided newspaper (4 pages, e.g. first 2 and last 2 combined)

Two-sided plaster or any sort of glue can be used to fix the posters. However, two-sided
plaster is preferred because it is easy to remove the dummy sheet in order to put up the
designed posters.
Spaces which are tough to reach can be left empty. These will be allocated to each section
equally by CultComm after Pub Run.
The sections are NOT allowed to use any musical instrument / sound making device
except drums for the Pub Run day.
CultComm will not provide material to practice for Pub Run; the sections should procure
material for practice on their own if they wish to.

time guidelines mentioned in the schedule.

Impromptu Dance
Sections will be asked to dance impromptu to two songs played by CultComm. This will
include 1.5 minutes per song (up to a total of 3 minutes), anywhere in the sequence after the
entry and before the exit and will be a surprise.
The entire section is therefore expected to know every song on their playlist, to be able to
identify the extra songs and perform accordingly.

Mock Rock
Sections must choose any number of rock songs and mock them on stage.
No real instrument is allowed.
All the instruments should be made by the section with material such as thermocol,
cardboard, etc.
Performances should include at least one vocal imitation.

General Rules
The sections must assemble in their respective CRs, from where the respective
CultComm representatives will escort them for their performance slot.
Only under the guidance of a CultCommer will a section be allowed to move inside the
mess.
One member from the section should meet CultComm at a pre-announced time on that
day to check the compatibility of the songs and the format of the songs to be used with the
speaker systems.
Backstage handling of equipment (laptop, spotlight) has to be done by the section itself.
One representative for music should come and meet CultComm 5 minutes before the
performance.
All sections have to submit songs to be played on Mess Nite (mock rock, dance, entry
music, etc.) to CultComm by 13:59:59 on Day 2 on a pen drive.

Component-wise Rules
Dance
The dance performance should be for 10 minutes and can contain any number of dances
but needs to include one folk dance (up to 2 minutes), one prop dance (up to 2 minutes).
The dance to live music (for 1.5 minutes during music performance) is in addition to the 10
minutes allocated to dance performances and will be counted within the 14 minutes
allocated to music performances.
The dance to live music will be a non-solo performance on live music performed either in
the beginning or at the end or at any point during the music act by the section as
convenient.
The options of props will be provided the prior night. Props are to be organized by each
individual section.
The remaining time is open to the sections to perform any dance form/genre. However,
different dance styles will be appreciated.

CR Act
This act is to be a solo performance by the CR. Nobody else should be involved in the act in
the form of participation or assistance during the act.

Fashion Parade
Time Duration: Minimum 12 minutes, Maximum 15 minutes
Teams should depict at least one theme in their performance.
2 extra points each will be given to the sections that get the following titles:
o "Looks that kill" - Best Female Model
o "He's got the look" - Best Male Model
The extra points will be capped within the 25 points allocated for Fash P.

Band Performance
Every section has to put up a live music performance.
No help of digital/recorded music can be sought.
Drums and keyboards would be provided (drum sticks will have to be brought by
drummers). Guitars and other musical instruments have to be arranged by the sections
themselves.
There is no restriction on language or genre.
Damage to the instruments provided will lead to penalties.

The setup time for instruments / mics would be included in the time allotted for the entire
RJM performance. Sections are advised to check instruments during sound check in RJM
in the afternoon.
Duration: Maximum 15 minutes (including sound check)
Group Singing
There is no constraint on the number/genre of songs.
Live musical instruments should be used during the performance.
At least 5 performers should be singing at any point of time. But the more the merrier!
Duration: 2-4 minutes
MadAD
CultComm will provide the sections with a list of 6 items.
Section CRs will pick chits to decide which section gets which item. This draw will take
place on Day 2 (Mess Nite) at a time to be specified later by CultComm.
Each section has to prepare a drama-based act to sell the item allocated to them.
A minimum of 4 participants should participate in the act from each section.
The duration of the act should be between 3 minutes and 4 minutes.

General Rules
The sections must assemble in their respective CRs, from where the respective
CultComm representatives will escort them for their performance slot.
The non-participating members of the section must enter the stage, do tempo shouts
and then leave / move to the back of the stage. After they leave, the performance
begins. For participating members, making an entry before the performance begins is
optional.
When a section is on stage, the non-performers from that section have to stay at an
assigned spot on the stage at the back. They can shout and support their section.
During the fashion show, non-performers can leave the stage.
The sections are free to have the performances in any sequence they want. However,
the sections should announce every performance by some means.

Backstage handling of equipment (laptop, spotlight) has to be done by the section itself.
Two representatives, one for music and one for lights, should come and meet CultComm
5 minutes before the performance.
The music representative should also come during a notified time on that day to check
the compatibility of their laptop with speaker systems.
The sections must clear the stage of any props that they have brought for their
performance when they leave the stage.

Other Events / Components
Creatives
T-Nite Advertisement
The sections have to prepare an A3-size advertisement of T-Nite to invite section
fachchas to participate.
A soft copy of the advertisement (in jpeg format) is to be submitted to CultComm on July
25, 2014 by 13:59:59 at [email protected].
A hard copy of the advertisement (A3) is to be submitted to CultComm on July 27, 2014
by 21:59:59 in SAC room (Dorm 10, Ground Floor).
One copy of the poster must be displayed outside each section on their respective notice
boards by July 28, 2014, 17:59:59.
Judging will be based on Facebook likes, creativity and use of graphics.
Mess Posters
The space for posters will depend on the outcome of Pub Run.
All sections will capture space in the mess where they will place the final posters.
Deadline: All posters will have to be placed on August 2, 2014 by 13:59:59.
Graffiti is to be posted along with the posters.
Section Flag
The flag must necessarily be on a cloth of size 34.
It must be hoisted on a pole of height less than 9 feet. (It must not be very heavy)
It is to be shown to CultComm on August 1, 2014 between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm and later
submitted to CultComm by 23:59:59 on Day 1 (after using it in the Pub Run).
Section Banner
The section banner must be 4 feet wide and as long as the height of the mess building
from the ground floor.
It is to be submitted to CultComm on August 3, 2014 between 13:30:00 and 13:59:59 at
the SAC office (Dorm 10, ground floor).
Section Mascot
The sections are expected to come up with a mascot for the section in keeping with the
section name and chosen theme. The mascot can be present during all three days.

Photography and Creative Exhibition
The exhibition will be held on August 3, 2014 in the RJM corridor area.
Each section will be given a designated space for the exhibition.
The sections are meant to exhibit their creativity through the content, especially
photographs.
The section may use this space as desired. However, the following things should be part
of the space:
o Section posters already prepared for mess (2 Nos.)
o Section T-shirt
o Collage of photos focusing on the section (mainly on T-Nite preparation and events)
Try to be as creative as possible with the collage of photos and other content as creativity
will form a major component for judging.
There is no restriction on use of other materials. However, CultComm will not provide any
additional material.
Criteria for evaluation of all creative events / components:
Creativity i.e. out of box thinking 20%
Section focus 20%
Use of space 20%
Clarity of idea 20%
Number of elements used 10%
Neatness of work 10%
Section Video
The purpose of the video is to creatively show:
o Section bonding and enthu
o Section preparation for T-Nite
o Various aspects of T-Nite
The sections have to choose a theme for the section video.
Duration: 2 minutes (+/- 10%)

Screening Day: RJM Finale night during the section performance

Newsletter
Newsletters highlighting the happenings of the night need to be submitted at the end of every
night except the last one. Some points to be kept in mind are:
The maximum number of pages is 6.
The language of the newsletter should not be offensive to anyone in anyway.
Subtle humour, sarcasm is allowed but blatant slander or abuse is prohibited.
Make the newsletters as creative and comprehensive as possible.
Submissions should be done before 8:00 AM the following morning in pdf format.
