ADITI: Why start a youth newsletter?SAM: The purpose of starting a Telugu Youth Newsletter is to have another mediumavailable for us to communicate. There is real life contact, social media, and now thisnewsletter. In my leadership role, I work to connect the Telugu youth of Victoria andrepresent their interests, welfare and assist the youth to develop greater knowledge of theirhistory, culture and traditions. I believe that together, we can create awareness andunderstanding of the talent in our community, which can be a highlighted source of inspiration to the others.

ADITI: What will the newsletter cover?SAM: The newsletter will be a medium of communication that will cover upcoming TAAI

Youth social events, current news updates, fun facts about our Telugu history, tradition andculture. The main feature of the newsletter will be Youth Profiles. These profiles will be anopportunity to learn about your fellow friends, their journeys and the successes they have hadalong the way.

ADITI: Why should people read it? How is itbeneficial for them?SAM: I am a strong believer that every single individualperson, regardless of there past present and future, hasachieved something important in life that they should beproud of and have an opportunity to influence others. If you would like to have an input into the newsletter in thefuture contact us.

Like many of us, I moved to Australia as a four yearold with my parents and older brother. Aftergraduating from Mac Robertson Girls, I didCommerce/Law at Monash University. Many of you atUniversity at the moment may be thinking whatsnext? I definitely thought the same thing while I wasat University and still do now as I plan to head back tofurther study. When I graduated, I knew I wanted tovaguely be in business but didnt know exactly what I

wanted to do; thats how I ended up in ManagementConsulting, specifically at Bain & Company.

After a few years of consulting, Ive decided to headback to further study to do my MBA at LondonBusiness School. Ive been asked to write a little aboutthe application process. There are 4 main elements:

GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test, which is a 3-4 hour computer adaptive test whichassesses analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal andreading skills), essays, references and interviews (on invite). Each school requiresindividualised essays and references - so more schools, more essays and more time but alsomore of an opportunity to get in. MBAs are quite common for consultants and my brotherhad also been through the process a few years ago so I was lucky that I had a wealth of knowledge to tap into.

I am definitely looking forward to heading back to school and especially the newenvironment and opportunities. However, I am also apprehensive about meeting theacademic rigour, competing with high quality peers for future jobs and of course, moving sofar away from family and friends.

I am fortunate however that I have a family that is incredibly supportive of my decisionsand I know will be there to lend a hand no matter what.

Finally, if anyone wants to talk about law, consulting, business schools or anything Im always happy to help so feel free to get in touch!

Life is a wonderful journey that we choose to live, acollection of experiences that we are meant to enjoy. Eachof us is capable of achieving and being anything that weimagine. Yet the majority of us live in fear each day, fear

of failure, fear of not being accepted by society. We let ourinsecurities and the opinions and judgments of othersdictate our lives. These hold us back from pursuing ourdreams, which we are more than capable of achieving. Weare too busy trying to be realistic with our goals, becausewe are afraid of aiming for what we really want andfailing.

For as long as I can remember Ive always lived my life ina way that pushed the boundaries and tried to achieve what most other would considerimpossible for themselves, hoping to be an inspiration for other to do the same. Since finishinghigh school, Ive had the pleasure of starting my own business, a tutoring company Ive alwayswanted to change the world. Entrepreneurship, in my opinion, is the most effective way tohave an impact on the world and the people around you. I also had the resources andnetworks to be able to successfully create a tutoring that didnt just teach but focused ondeveloping skills and techniques that many successful students had used in the past.

One of biggest motivations is the impact I know I am having on my students on my students;through the mentoring and performance coaching we give, on top of tuition. I cherish thecharacter development I see in them and the dramatic change on their confidence and outlooktowards life. I believe these tools will help them in life beyond the confines of formal

education.Starting a business is not as difficult as it may seem. The only difficulty is overcoming self-doubt and realizing the potential you have. Unlike a job, there is no financial security, noguarantee of success. However, as long as you have the utmost self-confidence and anunlimited and clear vision of what you want, the rewards and satisfaction of creating abusiness are unparalled.

My journey in photography has been very exciting so far. It all started with casuallytaking photos at small events. Soon I realised how much I really love capturing themoments at the right time. I realised that capturing a moment through a lens meantgiving a sweet memory a form, shape, colour, tone, movement and emotion! The morephotos I took, the more I wanted to learn the technicalities of the art. I can never reallysay when this hobby turned into a passion for me! However, I do realize that over theyears, I have made use of every single opportunity to take photos, no matter how small.

I also research a lot about different photographers and methods to the extent thatresearch has almost become my second nature. According to me researchingphotographers and their work, and deriving inspiration from others work is pivotal to anyaspiring photographers development both as a professional and a creative artist. I alsoattend various workshops to keep up with relevant skills and methods in photography. Istill consider myself a learner in this art. I believe being open to different approaches andadaptive to a number of creative methods means I get to explore my own forte.

So far, most of my work has been portraiture and I really enjoy it. A good portrait tells agood story. I strive to master that skill of story-telling through pictures. Beautiful

moments cant be made with digital manipulations; they can only be highlighted amongother moments and captured. I am excited what the future holds for me in terms of photography. I hope to be not only a good photographer but an artist too.
