District Superintendent’s Report Mission Statement.

“Making Christ like Disciples on our District.

DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT 4 TH REPORT FOR THE 16 TH GAUTENG DISTRICT ASSEMBLEY HELD AT GNCC ON THE 29 TH OF JANUARY 2011

Dr DW Graves, Dr F Chambo, Rev C Elliott, Regional Coordinators and staff, Delegates and visitors – I greet you all in our Master’s Precious Name! It is a great privilege and honour for me to present my 4 th report as DS of this Great District

• INTRODUCTION

To God be the Glory! “For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, weather thrones or powers or rulers or authorities: all things were created by Him for Him” (Col 1:16)

I am amazed that we are at the beginning of another year. The excitement and jubilant of 2010 is now a bygone .We had wonderful times as the country hosted the2010 FIFA World Cup. This united us as a Country and Churches used that as an opportunity to evangelise. There’s an Idiom that says: “Let bygones be bygones”. The year 2010 is now beyond us and we glorify the Lord with all what has happened to us as a district and need to look to the future. Paul says :”This one thing I do :forgetting the past and reaching forth to those things which are before. I press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus” (Phil 3:13 – 140)

As a servant of the district I had a great learning time during the short period of serving. I have worked with great leaders in the District strategizing to accomplish the “Great commission and striving to builds Healthy Churches in our District”. I have experienced growth and maturity

14 | P a g e

in individuals and churches. I have also experienced the district growing financially

Looking back I can recall the divine leadership of God and His guidance in our lives as a family. I am singing inside :”Where He Leads Me, I’ll follow”

• REMINDING OURSELVES OF OUR MISSION

‘The mission of the Church of the Nazarene is to make Christlike disciples in the Nations.” Our primary objective as a global church is to advance God’s kingdom by the preservation and propagation of Christian holiness as set forth in the scriptures.

As a Region we got Strategic Principals that we need to adhere to in order to accomplish our mission. We are presently focusing on evangelism, discipleship and education. Our field (south) is playing an important part in achieving these strategies.

As a District we are striving to build Christlike healthy Churches with the same view of making Christlike Disciples and implementing our objectives to fulfil this. We are working very hard closer with the Lord to overcome the ‘maintenance mode syndrome’ in our local churches. As a result we are excited to hear Good News of new converts, discipleship of the same and development offered by local churches.

• RECOGNITION

I need to salute our veteran Pastors who continue to win souls and some starting new churches even when they are retired. To name a few I would like to recognise the effort and passion of Dr Layton B Smith, Dr Wally Marias, rev Johnny Mohola, Rev Joannes Chavalala, Rev. G Zwane, Rev Harry Harrison, Rev Louis Jantjies, Rev Gideon Tredoux, Rev. Ephraim Mathibela, Rev Albert – John Siebelles, Rev Hannes De Koker, Rev Billy Douman, Rev Jan Pater, rev Louis Kriel and spouses of our legends.

15 | P a g e

Special Recognition is attributed to our former DS, Rev Rudie and Loraine for the foundation laid during our merger and the birth of the Gauteng District are not gone un recognised.

I need to recognise Nigel Church of the Nazarene as the new church organised in 2010. We recognise Nehemiah CTON as the mother church. May the smiths and the delegates from Nigel stand please!

The contribution played by individuals who were elected to different boards was outstanding. I learn a lot of commitment and dedication from all of you.

• APPRECIATION

To all the members of the district, I need to take this opportunity to thank you for a good working relationship with us as a family for the past 4 years. I recognise the way you handle matters with your pastors in coming with positive solutions in your mission as local churches.

To all our pastors you have been a source of pillarto my service. Need to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone that I have hurt during my service. I learnt a lot and grew from this experience.

Diane Klopper was appointed as my personal assistant as from 15 th March 2010 and has played an important role in the administration of our District. We did our own mistakes in the office but she was determined to rectify them.

I will be unfair to forget the role played by Connie in my entire ministry. She has persevered so much over the past 24 years, from acceptance of my call, going to college, Pastoring Ministry and became a key support in the district. She graduated with the Diploma in Ministry from KNBC in 1988 and have been carrying a local license from Saulsville to Kagiso and District Licence for the past 4 years with perseverance. To reveal the secret she has been the real Pastor in my ministry.

Our children Muzi and Buzi, I need to appreciate them as well as their willingness to rectify their mistakes and repenting the shortfalls.

16 | P a g e

Finally I need to thank my leaders, Dr DW Graves, Dr F Chambo and Rev C Elliot for the vital and crucial role they have played in my life in various aspects.

• ACTIVITIES

We had the following activities together as a district: since from our assembly and ordination rally. 1 our Preachers Conference at Kinmiad in Heidelberg with Rev Howie Shute as our guest speaker was outstanding. 2. The Orlando rally after renovation was a success. 3. The local leaders conference at Mariasburg was also a success. 4 Our conventions at Cornerstone in Nov was the highlight of the year.

We were also privileged as a Districtto host the “Woman’s Extravaganza which was held at GNCC from the 6 th to 8 th of August 2010”. About 1500 ladies gathered together from the Southfield and there was great revival.

Personally I attended Region planned activities such as DS retreat, Compassionate Ministries Strategic Planning, National Board Meetings, DAB Meetings, Other District Board and committees, Zone meetings and SDM Meetings. Many Churches were visited as well.

All this has been fruitful to me. I did learn from these and feel as if I could mentor someone and do not depart with such valuable information that could help the district and Local Churches. This is the reason why, we have supplied you with a resource CD for each Church.

COMMUNICATION AND ACKNOWLEDGE

Communication in the District has improved. Our website www.nazarene.co.za is well updated and operative. Thanks to Peter Naidoo for his commitment in linking the District Office with our web master. David Varcoe played an important role in introducing Braam as our web master. Thanking all of you who contributed to the articles and visiting the site.

17 | P a g e

• INACTIVE CHURCHES

There are a few churches in the District that are inactive or not existing. With the view of accuracy I was proposing to the assembly to make a motion to disorganise the following 2 churches being Randfontein and Shalom Klerksdorp.

• SPECIAL TRIBUTE

It is with great sadness in 2010 we lost Mrs Marie Kriel (wife of Rev L Kriel) and Mrs Josephine Selepe. (Wife of late Rev A Selepe). We also lost Rev Peter Wagner and Rev Johannes Khune. We know that they are in glory and let the bereaved families be comforted.

• IN CONCLUSION

I need to thank all of you, who have been supportive to the District and to me as an individual and thanking all who helped for the preparation of this assembly. At this point in time I need to announce my surrender as RSA Gauteng DS. Be Blessed

District Advisory Board

Dr. Graves, Dr Chambo, Rev Elliott, Rev Mkhonde and members of the Assembly I am please to present my 16th report to the District Assembly. The District Advisory Board met six times since our last District Assembly that was held on 30th January 2010. One of our members, Dr Patrick Thomas resigned during the current year and we wish to thank him for his valuable contribution to the Advisory Board. We wish to thank our pastors and secretaries for the improvement in forwarding the “Pastors Reports”; there is still room for improvement though. We apologize to our Pastors and delegates for the undue delay in having sent out the 2010 “Assembly Journal” so late and reassure you that every effort is being made to avoid a recurrence. BUILDING AND PROPERTIES BOARD

Dr DW Graves, Dr F Chambo, Rev C Elliott, Regional Coordinators, Pastors and delegates. I greet you all in our Masters precious Name! This Board met 3 times last year and issues and matters pertaining to buildings and properties were discussed. In most of the meetings we formed a quorum. In one meeting we visited empty stand sites (Riverlea and Eden Park) belonging to our District.

1. Matters arising from our Last Year Report. 1.1 Riverlea. The Properties Board recommendation that this site

should be donated to Riverlea Church was accepted by District Advisory Board and this Church is raising funds to start building in this property and has submitted plans.

1.2 Eden Park. As agreed in our last District Assembly this empty stand is still for sale unless someone can restart the work there.

1.3 Palm Spring. We are still investigating the status of deed to the present premises used by the Church as they plan to build toilets.

1.4 Protea South. The Protea Church still struggling to build in the site which they presently occupy as it belongs to the school and cannot build at present. The former Church in the area

22 | P a g e

which was abandoned by the former Northern District is now ABSA property.

1.5 Thokoza. The issue of this Church which was abandoned during the unrest in our Country is under investigation and legal action is taken by the Local Church.

1.6 Eerstures. This Local Church submitted plans to build and the money which belonged to them from District Account was transferred to their account.

1.7 Churches in arrears. The Board is still assisting in helping and advising those Churches owing money to their Municipalities. Five of such Churches are out of debt already.

1.8 Title Deeds. The issues of obtaining Title deeds for our Local Churches which were under lease hold, permission to occupy or not in possessions of

2. New Issues 2.1 Vanderbylpark (Elshamai). Elshamai erf adjacent to the

present property is being sold to a development contractor after they have been notified by the Council that this property belongs to them.

2.2 Other Building proposals. The other proposals for future building came from the following Churches: Davidsonville, Ennerdale, Geluksdaal, Lenasia, Secunda and Thembisa.

2.3 New District Office. We were successful as a Board to propose for New District premises which was accepted by the District Advisory Board and New Premises were bought in Lewisham for the amount of R560 000.

SDMI

To our District Superintendent Rev. B.M. Mkhonde, pastors, superintendents and members of the Assembly. I greet you in the Name of Jesus. It is my privilege to give my 2nd report. My heart, filled with appreciation and thankfulness I give to our Lord for He lifted me up, He made me strong, He gave vision, He cleanse and He purifies. I want to thank the Lord for the people who crossed my life this past year. People and situations are instruments in the hands of the Lord and He uses these instruments to shape us to fit into His image. Why Sunday school? Through Sunday school Ministries, every individual has a place and a ministry. The major purpose of the Sunday school is to help men, women, boys and girls to study God’s Word, the Bible, and apply its -life guiding principles- to help MAKE CHRISTLIKE DISCIPLES. The Sunday school provides a safe environment for children and adults to share their joys and sorrows, their concerns, their questions and their values. It help people discover how to grow as Christians by leading them to examine God’s Word and apply it to their lives. The Sunday school is the place where people know me by name. Thank you for all who were faithful in helping others discover how to live like Jesus. The Sunday school provides the unique opportunity to be the vehicle for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to reach and teach people of all ages in this increasing dis-connectednes time were is living in. I also want to give my appreciation to the SDMI zone leaders and their families. The work that they do is so important to communicate with the Superintendents, to build good relations, to inspire and to be a friend who encourage. To have a good relationship with these zone leaders is to know their families and some of their challenges they are facing. Phones were lost or stolen, some of them had to work out of the country, some of their children wrote matric, new babies came into the families, illness at home and still they did their best. The team that was presenting the 5 zones was: Marlene Doyle – Roodepoort Zone; Hannah Hattingh – Southern Zone;

24 | P a g e

Dorris Mdakane – Western Zone, Rebecca Ndlovu – Soweto Zone and rev. Pieter Joubert – Eastern Zone. Our Bible quiz master Paul Doyle also attended all the meetings. Our committee met 3 times during 2010. Let me brief you on the District highlights of 2010: January to April: We had a wonderful day for the Superintendents in February. At this meeting our Superintendents got creative, sang a few Sunday school songs and had training on how to be an effective Superintendent. It is important for the Sups to know their staff, to encourage them, to be an example to them and also to dedicate the staff to the Lord. For a Sunday school teacher must not only prepare a lesson, they must listen and see with their heart and touch with love the little ones that come to Sunday school. May to August: On 1st May, we join hands with the NMI and NYI to have our prayer day at the Orlando Church. We had a lovely time of prayer which was blessed with rain. Few churched on the District had a VBS during the July holiday and some churches had their VBS during the September break. Thank you to all the workers who took leave to do help with the VBS’s and the other people and youth who offer their time, some on stages, some in the kitchen and some behind the screen and some who prayed. You may never see the fruit of the seed that you sowed, but keep on doing the good work for God will let the seed grow. September to November: The last big event on our SDMI calendar for 2010 was the Final District Junior Bible Quiz which was held at the Boksburg church. Some of our teachers and quizzers couldn’t attend the Quiz Finals because they had to rely on public transport. The quizzers were trained very well. Our congratulations to the Roodepoort Zone who won the District Finals and our appreciation to the teachers who offered their time to train the little quizzers. A compact disc was issued to each delegate at the District Convention. Sunday school lessons, Sunday school tips and logos are some of the valuable SDMI information on the disc. Each Superintendent who attended the Convention also received a junior teacher and learner Bible Quiz book for 2011 FOR FREE. Training on how to use the compact disc was given

25 | P a g e

at the Convention by our brother Pieter Joubert who enjoyed shearing his knowledge. Finance: The SDMI board wants to thank every church who paid the budget of R350.00 per year. I want to thank Protea South church who made regular payments and often sent in a report. A lot of churches didn’t pay this agreed budget. Won’t you please pray about this matter? May the love of God urge you to serve in the Sunday school and Discipleship Ministry to MAKE CHRISTLIKE DISCIPLES. Your SDMI leader Rozèlle Erasmus

NMI

Dear Dr Graves, Dr Chambo, Rev Mkhonde and members of the Gauteng District Assembly. With change of administration, there is always some hiccups and delays in service-delivery. Although the delays of some regimes takes longer than others, NMI is here and we are ready to roll! ONE HEART MANY HANDS Thanks to my predecessor, Mrs. Grizelda Smith, the One Heart Many Hands project was launched. The scope of the project was to upgrade the facilities of the Orlando Church in Soweto, which is right next to the Orlando Stadium. All glory goes to our Lord, that work in the hearts of His people, to offer their free time, tools, food and finances for the benefit of His Kingdom. During the course of our labour, many new friends were made, jokes were told, uplifting fellowship enjoyed, wonderful testimonies shared and the love of Jesus shared with curios passersby. ORLANDO RALLY The One Heart Many Hands Project were concluded with a beautiful Celebration on 1 May. The NYI and SDMI joined us for a time of Praise, Worship, Testimonies, Preaching, Praying – and of course eating! The cold

26 | P a g e

weather on the outside, were in stark contrast with the warm fellowship that were enjoyed inside. Thank you to all pastors and NMI Presidents that drove the initiative in your local churches and even brought the people to Orlando on a weekly basis. A special word of thanks goes to all the teens that joined in. It was really fun to have you guys as part of the team. NMI NEWSLETTER A quarterly NMI newsletter was started and is a great source of information to be placed in newsletters, announcements and handed out at Mission Events. NMI Presidents are encouraged to participate in the quarterly Zonal NMI President’s meetings, to be held in conjuction with the regular Zonal Pastor’s meetings. At these gatherings, the Newsletters will be distributed. NMI DVD’s Another resource that will be distributed at the Zonal NMI President’s meetings, is World Mission Broadcast DVD’s. These DVD’s contains short interesting videoclips about Nazarene Missions, that can be shown to local churches, cellgroups or Sunday Schools via televisions, projectors or even computers. Enquire at your Zone NMI Leader. RESOURCE DISK A comprehensive resource disk was handed out at the NMI Convention in November, that contains all the what, why, when and how of NMI. There is anything from missionlessons for Sunday School to logo’s to checklists. You simply put it into a computer and read though the material or print it out if necessary. If you don’t have a computer – ask the NYI leader to help! Chances are good that he/she will have one! MONTHLY SMS’s Another new initiative, is a monthly sms from myself, that will go out to all NMI Presidents. This sms will serve as a reminder of the theme of the

27 | P a g e

month, as well as other important information that will be beneficial to their ministry in the local NMI society. COMPASSIONATE MINISTRIES I want to urge all local churches – with or without an organized NMI, to please participate in Compassionate Ministries. Every Nazarene church should have a bin for used clothes, and a bin for food. These items should be handed out to worthy causes on a regular basis – and reports be given to the church. In fact, take the churchmembers along, when distributing these gifts of grace... then you will see how those bins start overflowing! OUR FOCUS At least for the year 2011, the main aim of the Gauteng NMI Council, is to EQUIP the Local Presidents with resources and information. Our local churches can only effectively support NMI, if they KNOW about the victories, battles and needs on the Mission fields. I therefore once again urge all NMI Presidents to make an appointment with their pastors, and work out an action plan on how and when this information can be shared with the local churches. It is then imperative that the NMI President follow through on the opportunities that your pastor is creating. IN CLOSING I would like to thank Mrs Grizelda Smith for all her years of leading the Gauteng NMI. Know that we appreciate and respect what you have done for Christ and his Kingdom is this capacity. I will endeavour to continue in your footsteps and keep on building God’s Kingdom, one soul at a time. Lastly, I have great appreciation for the District NMI Council that works closely with me: Mantombi (Soweto Zone), Tannie Betty (Roodepoort Zone), Tannie Agnes (Southern Zone), my dear mother Lomina (Western Zone) and my brother Vuyo (Eastern Zone). Thankyou so much for all your zealous efforts. Together we will make the difference. For the King and His Kingdom, Rev DAWIE DE KOKER

NYI Dear Dr. Graves, Dr. Chambo, Rev. Mkhonde and members of the Gauteng assembly, Someone once said, “If you start at the right place, it`s more likely that you will end up at the right place”. For me, the past year as NYI President was a year of new beginnings, new Zone leaders, new plans, new ideas and of course, new challenges! When I assumed the office more than a year ago, I knew that we as NYI Gauteng had to start at the right place, God`s heart for the youth on our district. Since then, I had this strong conviction that our District NYI needed to focus our attention and resources on empowering, equipping, training and inspiring the local NYI departments in the local churches on our district. When we do just that, the local church can empower, equip, train and inspire their local NYI`s to make Christlike disciples of their communities. So we launched our very first NYI resource DVD, which we gave out at the beginning of 2010, but it didn`t stay there. Last year was also our GOL-project year where the NYI in collaboration with the other auxiliary’s, reached out to Orlando Church of the Nazarene. We participated in the GOL-project where we renovated, upgraded and beautified the Orlando Church of the Nazarene for the FIFA World Cup. What would the NYI be like without fellowship? We didn`t want to find out so middle 2010 we had a District Arts alive day in Boksburg where we saw the tremendous talents of our youth through dance, drama, song and poetry! This event was well attended and a huge success. Besides that we saw some wonderful initiatives on our district, youth Bible Quiz competitions, youth rallies, youthcamps and inter-church NYI events. At the end of 2010 we had a very successful and blessed combined NYI, NMI and SDMI convention at Cornerstone, we had a NYI teaching session and we gave out our 2nd NYI 2011 Resource disc! I believe that 2010 was all about starting at the right place, building a firm foundation, creating new dreams. 2011? Well, I don`t want to have any dreams that can succeed without the help of God, for then, they will be too small. I believe with His help, guidance, wisdom and power combined with our BEST, our all, the dreams we as a NYI have, can and will turn into a reality. Respectfully submitted

Church Growth and Evangelism All members of the 2011 Gauteng District Assembly: We are privileged indeed to serve the Lord in this capacity! The Jesus Film Project outreach overseen by Dr Willem Harding still requires perseverance and dedication. We covet your continued prayers for this ministry. Their challenges are many! We have a total of three Jesus Film sets being used regularly on our District. They desperately need more literature to use with the new converts. The Preaching Point of Nigel was officially organized during this year. Three new Preaching Points functioning regularly are:Protea Glen, Palm Springs and Johannesburg Central Business District. The emphasis and focus of the Church Growth and Evangelism Board is in line with that of the Africa Region. The Board envisions running EE3 Refresher Courses on each Zone in an effort to equip our pastors and identified church members in this area. Respectfully submitted, Elizabeth H van den Berg - Secretary

NAZARENE THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE General Superintendent Dr D Graves, Regional Director Dr F Chambo, Field Strategy Coordinator Rev C Elliott, District Superintendent Rev BM Mkhonde, ordained elders, licensed ministers, delegates and visitors. My gratitude goes to God for His grace, the Board of Trustees for trusting me with the leadership of NTC on your behalf, the NTC and GNCC team for making the task doable and my family for making the burden feels lighter. God has blessed us with God loving students and faculty. Every Wednesday students, faculty and staff meet together to fast and pray for the College and the work of God. It is a blessing to watch some of the students growing and maturing in Christ. MISSION : Preparing men and women for ministry. VISION : Making holiness leadership development through education and training affordable, available and accessible to all (Clergy & laity).

1. METHODS OF DELIVERY

1.1 Residential

Our residential programme is registered with the Department of Education, to offer three different contact programs: Certificate in Ministry; A Diploma in Theology (Pastoral, Youth, and Counseling tracks) and an Advanced Diploma in Theology.

1.2 Satellite and Distance

N.T.C currently has six officially registered satellite centers. Reverend Cheri Kommel is the current coordinator of this programme under the leadership of the Dean of Academics. These centers offer the following programs: - Ministerial Education Training, - Certificate in Ministry, and the - Diploma in Theology, all of which are through direct contact

method. 1.3 Bachelor of Theology

This is a three year programme delivered through distance method in the following two ways:

a. Through correspondence studies. b. Through enrolling for an online class.

We are intending to establish contact centers to assist BTh. students in arrears where we have a minimum of ten students enrolled in a programme. All the students who hold our Diploma in Theology will be required to do only 50% of the academic work to graduate with their BTh. qualification.

31 | P a g e

2 ENROLLMENT CHALLENGES 2.1 Residential = 14 2.2 MET programme, Satellite Diploma and Certificate = 85 2.3 Bachelor of Theology = 87 (48 active and 39 inactive) 3 GRADUATION

The graduation was held on 20 March 2010. Thirteen (13) students graduated with a Diploma in Theology and three (3) students with a Certificate in Ministry.

4. CHALLENGES 4.1 Enrollment

We continue to have a very low number of enrolled students in all our programmes especially the residential programme which makes running the College very difficult.

4.2 Exchange Rate

The Rand continues gaining a stronger position against a dollar, which has resulted in our monthly allocation to drop in value.

4.3 Dropped Interest Rates and Bursaries

Because of the continuing drop in interest rate the bursary money that we generate through investments to provide help for students has also dropped very low.

4.4 Human Resource

We lost Mr John and Mrs. Debby Scherers who were volunteers, helping both as an Administrator, and John as both BTh Assistant Coordinator and facilitator.

32 | P a g e

We had to move Rev H Mashile to assume the responsibilities of an Administrator, and he is doing a wonderful job. However that means we are currently without a Registrar and we cannot afford one.

4.5 Abnormal Land Tax Bill from Mogale City

We are also faced with a new financial burden. Land tax account of plus minus R16 000.00 a month that we did not budget for.

4.6 Communication Problems

Nature and thieves have been in competition to keep us off line. Our box was hit twice by lightning this year, and the thieves stole our telephone cables. For the better part of the first semester we were without phones and internet.

5. DISTRICT EDUCATION BUDGETS

We thank all the churches/districts that have supported the work of the College with their budgets this year. There has been a slight improvement on the district and churches that pay their College budget monthly. (Gauteng, Limpopo Northwest, KZN, Western Cape and Divine Hope Church of the Nazarene.) We encourage the rest of the districts or churches to follow this good example, it would really make our lives better here. Below is the list and the table that shows how each district has paid their budgets so far:

33 | P a g e

6. NEW DEVELOPMENTS

Limpopo Northwest has finally established their Computer Center in partnership with the NTC computer project.

We still have money to can assist four more districts to open a computer center, especially the districts that already have running satellite centers. It will be on the first come first served to the districts that meet the requirements.

7. WORK AND WITNESS TEAM

In September 2010, we hosted a Work and Witness team of about 20 members from Chicago, U.S.A who helped with the rebuilding of our security fence that was destroyed by the thieves. They also

34 | P a g e

helped with the painting of the two classrooms. We are grateful to both the team and God for this blessing.

8. LOCAL IS LEKKER!

• R.S.A Western Cape

During the week of 20 August 2010, the Portland Mitchells Plain Nazarene Mission International under Rev Pretorius’ church sent a team of godly women who came to spend a weekend with our students. They came to spoil our students by buying and cooking meals for them and brought each student a special gift.

• R.S.A KwaZulu-Natal

The Shallcross Church of the under Rev S Elliot brought a parcel for each and every one of our 14 residential students during the Women Extravaganza weekend.

• R.S.A Highveld

Four boxes of soap and toiletries that were donated to students during their Easter camp.

• Limpopo Northwest

Store-Together ministry, for continuing to finance struggling students from their district with money for tuition.

9. ENDOWMENTS 9.1 NTC-GNCC Endowment

A committee for the endowment has been established and money paid so far is R120 000, 00.

Our next step is to raise R1 million, for match a Rand for Rand by the end of 2011. At this moment the state of the Fund is as follows: No of people = 1760 No of people needed = 404 Money Received R459 865,83 Outstanding Pledges R394 737,00 TOTAL = R854 602,83 Amount needed to reach R1m Goal = R145 397,17 Received Gauteng District = R81 852,00 Gauteng Outstanding Pledges = R66 580,00 10. MATCH TO A R1 MILLION – 2011 404 people to give R30.00 for 12 months, or 243 people to give R50.00 for 12 months, or *122 people to give R100.00 for 12 months or*61people each give R200.00 per month for 12 months. We challenge you to help us reach our goal of a Million Rand by the end of 2011 by doing one of the three things:

i. Give cash or cheque offering now! ii. Fill a pledge form and make a deposit, debit order or online

transfer. iii. Honour your old pledge if you made one.

Continue to pray and support your College. Respectfully Submitted REV MASHANGU H MALULEKA NTC PRINCIPAL

MINISTERIAL STUDIES

Dr. David Graves, Dr. Filmao Chambo, Rev. Collin Elliott, Rev. Bethuel, Pastors, Delegates, and Visitors, Greetings in the gracious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The board met regularly throughout the year with most members present all the time. Main Matters Discussed:

1. NTC Benchmarks-Gauteng District must encourage each centre to reach a level of sustainability that will include reaching the benchmarks of standards set by DoE.

2. MET Program Curriculum 3. District Guide for Ministerial Journey. 4. The ‘4 Cs Grit Questionnaire’ to assess the theory and practice of

our students.

We have managed to improve our relationship with Nazarene Theological College and thank Rev. Cheri Kommel for working so closely with us. The East Rand and NTK Centres are operating well. There are still major difficulties with getting the Soweto Centre to re-started, while there is a suspension in the West Rand Centre due to the n availability of a suitable venue. Propose: The board resolved that the current board continue in its present form with the current members serving another term.
