Hector Franz-Chávez is a researcher with the Mexican non-profit organization, HERP .MX, whose main interests include the biogeography and natural history of Mexican herpetofauna . Hector has collaborated in various research expeditions resulting in the discovery of numerous new taxa, as well as several rediscovered “lost” species . Our cover image depicts a Dickerson’s Collared Lizard (Crotaphytus dickersonae) from Bahía Kino, Sonora, Mexico . Named in honor of Mary C . Dickerson, the former Curator of the Department of Herpetology at The American Museum of Natural History, the individual shown here exemplifies one of the species’ most striking characteristics: the brilliant aqua-marine to cobalt-blue coloration of adult male lizards .
