What is UHPC? Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a classification of concrete that is orders of magnitude stronger than wood, terracotta, GFRC, and fiber cement. UHPC derives its high performance from a carefully calibrated ratio of engineered ingredients and a mixing sequence that packs molecules closely together to create very tight bonds. The high packing density yields excellent flexural and compressive strength while minimizing the capillary pores that cause freeze-thaw or chloride degradation in other cement-based products.

Description The TAKTL A|UHPC® panels are Ultra High Performance Concrete panels manufactured from Portland cement, micro aggregates, and additives, with alkali-resistant glass fibers and two layers of alkali-resistant glass fiber reinforcement mesh. TAKTL panels are designed to comply with a range of facade assemblies for all building construction types (Type I through V). TAKTL panels are also suitable for interior application as part of a Class A interior wall.

Application The TAKTLNOW A|UHPC Panel System is used as an exterior and interior wall cladding in the following applications: • ALL types of construction under the 2012 & 2015 IBC and IRC• Renovations and re-cladding over existing substrate• Interior cladding, partitions, and feature wall finishes

Features + Advantages• Compatible with all wall assemblies/substrates• Highest strength-to-weight ratio in its class • Impermeable; chloride resistant • Excellent freeze-thaw resistance and strength retention• Non-combustible, Class A smoke and flame spread• Impact resistance > highest rating under ASTM 1629• Delivered precut and easy to field cut and drill as needed

Quantities TAKTLNOW is pre-packaged and sold by the crate, with minimum quantities starting at 220 ft2, making it perfect for a wide variety of indoor, outdoor, and transitional applications that are below our standard minimum for made-to-order product. Current inventory is available on our website and upon request. Availability changes frequently, depending upon current production, check back often. Click for Inventory

Price TAKTLNOW is priced at $8.95 per square foot (including crating), representing a savings of over 55%.

Wood/Metal Brick CMU Block Concrete

Attachment Install TAKTLNOW panels with fasteners* over basic hat channel, wood furring, z-girt, or other preexisting attachment assembly systems. Panel and subframe fasteners must be made of high-corrosion resistant Type 304 stainless steel. *Color matched fasteners available from TAKTL

Panel Spacing TAKTL recommends a ½” reveal between panels and anchor spacing of 24" to 36", depending on application.Visible Fastener Fasten TAKTLNOW panels directly to the supporting framing with self-drilling Type 304 austenitic stainless-steel fasteners with powder-coated, color-matched heads. (Figure 1.1)Wall Types Install TAKTLNOW panels using hat channels compatible with wood frame, brick, CMU block, concrete wall or 16-18 gauge metal subframe. (Figure 1.2)

Refer to a registered engineer for panel support system design and analysis, including connection to the substrate/backup wall and load capacity information.

Field ProcessingDrilling + Cutting TAKTLNOW panel requires wet cutting and drilling to reduce heat build up, to sustain blade and drill bit life, and to produce clean cuts and holes.

Project engineer or installation contractor determines anchor quantity and spacing per local codes, standards, and environmental conditions.

Field Guidelines + Recommendations• Check for anchor hole locations prior to start cuts• Pilot holes recommended for all drilling larger than ¼"• Penetrations 2"– 3" from edge of panel (for penetrations <2"Ø)• Provide 6”– 36" clearance between penetrations (off-center)

Environmental, Health + Safety• Most UHPC is formulated with quartz sand and contains

more than 40% crystalline silica, a known carcinogen. TAKTL has been specifically formulated without using quartz sand and has extremely low crystalline silica content of only .03 – 0.633%.

• Health Product Declaration (HPD) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) available upon request.

• TAKTL A|UHPC is manufactured with 90% raw materials sourced within 500 miles of the factory.
