Thanksgiving
During the harvest season we are reminded of God's blessings in our lives. Sometimes in the busyness of life we
overlook simple blessings, warm homes, safe water, and adequate nutrition. It's easy, and second-nature for us to
concern ourselves about the details of our lives, to reflect or ruminate on the past or worry about the future. This
month, let's take time daily to focus on specific things we are thankful for. In so doing, our hearts will be changed,
our stress rates will fall and God's love will more effectively flow through our words and actions.
An Opportunity
As the Christmas Season approaches and we're considering what to give friends and family who seemingly have
everything, please consider giving them something new, like a goat, an alpaca, rabbits or chickens. Through
Heiffer International it's possible to choose a meaningful gift to give in a loved one's name and through that gift we
help children and families around the world receive training and animal gifts that help them become self-reliant.
It's an opportunity to help people and transform their lives right where they live. Check out their website at:

Veteran's Day Film
November 11th is Veteran's Day. A special thank you to those who have served in the military. A touching film
you may enjoy this month that honors veterans is the 2009 film "Taking Chance". You can find it on Netflix or
other streaming services.
Family Night
Join us for a special Covered dish dinner on November 18th. Bring your favorite dish and prepare yourself for a
good time of food and fellowship. As we enjoy our meal together we will also give thought to those in our
community and world who do not have what they need. Following the dinner we will collect our Loaves and Fish
offering and finish the evening with a time of Bible study and prayer.
Hebrews Study
Thank you to Gerald Borchert for leading us through the book of Hebrews. This month we continue through the
book and will finish up just in time to begin our Advent studies. Join us on Sunday evenings as we learn about
how the letter to the Hebrews is as relevant to our church as is was to the early church.
Joining with Others
Join us on Wednesday November 21st for the Community service ( at ?) What a pleasure it is to join with other
believers in giving thanks to God.
Hanging of the Greens
Don your Christmas sweater and head to the church at 5:00 on November 25th for a waffle dinner, devotion,
carols and bells, crafts and the Hanging of the Greens. This is an opportunity for the entire congregation to join
together in kicking off the Christmas season! It's an occasion you won't want to miss and a good time to invite a
friend.
Add an APP
Looking for a devotion you can read on the go? Add the d365 App to your phone. It is sponsored by an
ecumenical group including Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Baptists and Methodists. It is quite uplifting in nature -
which is nice as the days grow shorter and the nights longer.
Caregiver Support Group
We are considering beginning a care-giver's support group at our church. If you would be interested in participating in the group or helping to support this ministry please talk with Pastor Karen or David
Littleton.

you to all those who generously gave of their time to keep
our building and campus looking so nice.

Church Humor:
"Praise the Lord!"
A preacher trained his horse to go when he said "
Praise the Lord "
and to stop when he said " Amen "
The preacher mounted the horse and said "Praise
the Lord " and went for a ride.
When he wanted to stop for lunch , he said "
"Amen."
He took off again saying " Praise the Lord "
The horse started going toward the edge of a cliff.
The preacher got exited and said " whoa " whoa !
Then he remembered and said " Amen " and the
horse stopped at the edge of the cliff.
The preacher was so relieved and grateful that he
looked up to heaven and said " Praise the Lord ! "
