Introduction
This guide is intended to help customers configure various aspects of Reporting and Analytics.
It is broken down into two main sections:
- Self Service Configurations: Covers configurations that don’t require help from Taleo Support. They can be done
through self-service.
- Configurations Requiring Taleo Support: These configurations require that a ticket be entered with Taleo
Configuration Support.
For convenience and clarity, configurations come with a validation section, helping users validate that the configuration was
completed successfully.
This guide is optimized for the following Business Objects and Taleo Enterprise releases:
- Business Objects XI 3.1
- Taleo Enterprise 12A
Most of the Configurations are also relevant for Taleo Enterprise versions under 12A.

Activate Multilingual Recruiting Universe
Description
Activates the Recruiting Multi-Lingual reporting universe, allowing users to retrieve
data for languages other than English.
For more specific information about the feature, refer to the Reporting &
Analytics 7.5 SP11 Release Notes, section Recruiting Multilingual Data
Reporting.
Prerequisites
- User requesting configuration has access to contact Taleo Support via the
support portal.
- Reporting is installed
Configuration Guide March 2012
TALEO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION Page 27
Configuration Steps
Enter an incident with Taleo Configuration Support requesting activation of the
Recruiting Multilingual Universe.
When requesting the activation, it is necessary to specify preferences for two
settings that drive the behavior of the universe:
- Use Content Language Preference in Reporting
- Organization Content Languages
The “Use Content Language Preference In Reporting” setting is a Yes / No switch:
- Yes: For end users, commands the system to dynamically refresh the
report data based on the end users’ preferred language in SmartORG.
- No: For end users, commands the system to refresh the report data for
one specific global company preferred reporting language, specified in the
“Organization Content Language” setting.
The “Organization Content Languages” is a list of languages that serves two
purposes:
- The first language in the list determines the global company preferred
reporting language for recruiting data. This is relevant if the “Use Content
Language Preference In Reporting” setting is set to No.
- The list of languages drives the languages that the report developer will
have access to when logging into Business Objects.
For example:
- Use Content Language Preference In Reporting: No
- Organization Content Languages: French; English; German
In the above scenario, the system will retrieve French data for recruiting reports
when end users access them. However, the report developer will be able to write
ad-hoc reports in French, English or German.
Validation
First, login as a report developer. When logging in, the system should prompt you
to select a language. Select a language other than English. Then, create a new
Web-Intelligence report based on the Recruiting Universe. Create a simple query
such as “# Requisitions by Organization Level 01”. The data should be retrieved in
the selected language. Save the report in Public Folders somewhere that an end
user can access it.
Then, login as a report viewer and refresh the report:
- If “Use Content Language Preference In Reporting” is set to No, the report
should refresh in the global preferred language defined in the
“Organization Content Languages” setting.
- If “Use Content Language Preference In Reporting” is set to Yes, the
report should refresh in the user’s SmartORG preferred content language.
It may take up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect so if the change could not
be validated shortly after confirmation by support, wait one additional day. If the
configuration cannot be validated after that, contact support.

Activate Career Site Application Dropoff Data Capture
Description
Turns on capturing of candidate job submission information on career sites. When
a candidate applies via a career site, the name of the career site, application flow
and last page visited are tracked and can be reported on later. For example, if a
candidate doesn’t complete the job submission, a report can display where in the
process he/she dropped off.
For more specific information about the feature, refer to the Reporting &
Analytics 7.5 SP11 Release Notes, section Application Drop-off Statistics.
Prerequisites
- User requesting configuration has access to contact Taleo Support via the
support portal.
- Reporting is installed
Configuration Steps
Enter an incident with Taleo Configuration Support requesting activation of the
Career Section Latest Page Tracking Activation setting.
Validation
Login to Business Objects as a report developer and create a new Web
Intelligence report using the Staffing Universe.
Create a simple query using candidate information such as Candidate ID,
Requisition NO, Candidate Name combined with the following objects found
under the Application General Information class:
- Application - Application Flow (of Career Section)
- Application - Application Flow ID (of Career Section)
- Application Career Section
- Application Career Section ID
- Application - Latest App. Flow Page Visited
- Application - Latest App. Flow Page Visited (Sequence)
Add a filter such as “Application Career Section ID is not null” to only retrieve
records with relevant information. The report should return records with
information.
Consider that upon activation of the data tracking, the system does not populate
career site job submission information for candidates that applied prior to the
setting being turned on, so there is no data as of activation. Tracking takes place
for job submissions after the setting has been activated.
Before validating, it is recommended to wait for a few hours to allow a list of
candidates the time to apply. Alternately, you can create a test job submission and
then test the output on the report.
Activate Career Site Hits Tracking
Configuration Guide March 2012
TALEO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION Page 29

For more specific information about the feature, refer to the Reporting &
Analytics 7.5 SP11 Release Notes, section Career Site Activity Reporting.
Prerequisites
- User requesting configuration has access to contact Taleo Support via the
support portal.
- Reporting is installed
Configuration Steps
Enter an incident with Taleo Configuration Support requesting activation of the
Career Section Hits Tracking Activation setting.
Validation
Login to Business Objects as a report developer and create a new Web
Intelligence report using the Staffing Universe.
Create a simple query using Requisition NO and Requisition Title (BL)
combined with the following objects found under the Requisition Career Site
Activity class:
- Req. Career Site Activity Date
- Req. Career Site Activity Type (Code)
- Req. Career Site ID
- Req. Career Site Locale
- Req. Career Site Name (BL)
Add a filter such as “Req. Career Site Activity Date” to only retrieve records with
relevant information. The report should return records with information.
Also, add the object # Hits on Job Description Page from the class Req. Career
Site Activity Counts.
Consider that upon activation of the data tracking, the system does not populate
information for hits prior to the setting being turned on, so there is no data as of
activation. Tracking takes place for hits after the setting has been activated.
Before validating, it is recommended to wait for a few days to allow counts to be
summarized.
