Talking Points for Mr. Ford Thanks for having me here today, Nick. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all your viewers and our Muni customers happy holidays. We realize that this has been a difficult year for many. With that in mind, we sat down with some of the wonderful partners we’ve made at the SFMTA over the years, including ABC 7, to combine our resources in developing a promotion that will encourage visitors and locals alike to enjoy some of the best the City has to offer this holiday season at an incredible holiday price. The Home for the Holidays campaign features a room at select joie de vivre properties starting as low as $99 a night. Included in the package are 50 percent-off tickets to the symphony, two tickets to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, holiday chocolates from Ghirardelli Chocolates, a $25 gift certificate to Shanghai 1930 restaurant and two Muni 1-Day Passports to get you anywhere you need to go in San Francisco. The Home for the Holidays campaign features a room at select joie de vivre properties starting as low as $99 a night. j-v-d hotels dot com to book their package. We’d also like to remind viewers how important it is to be extra vigilant during the holiday season. Criminal activity increases as the holidays draw near and City-goers and transit riders need to be aware of their surroundings. Keep packages and valuables near at all times. Be extremely cautious of any suspicious behavior. Do not sleep on vehicles. Stand up if you’re tired. Keep your wallet in your inside pocket and avoid exposing cash. Stay away from arguments or fights on buses as they may be staged to lure you into participating. The SFMTA also received an early holiday gift recently with the partial lifting of the injunction of our landmark 2006 Bike Plan paving the way for more dedicated bike lanes and bike racks, increased bicycle safety education and more.
