Criminal activity increases as the holidays draw near and City-goers and transit riders need to be aware of their surroundings. Keep packages and valuables near at all times. Be extremely cautious of any suspicious behavior. Do not sleep on vehicles. Stand up if you’re tired. Keep your wallet in your inside pocket and avoid exposing cash. Stay away from arguments or fights on buses as they may be staged to lure you into participating. The SFMTA also received an early holiday gift recently with the partial lifting of the injunction of our landmark 2006 Bike Plan paving the way for more dedicated bike lanes and bike racks, increased bicycle safety education and more.
