When comparing elevated water tank (EWT) designs for a project located in McComas, West Virginia, Stafford Engineering selected a premier elevated design offered by Tank Connection. This EWT design is called the “poster series” and represents elevated water tank innovation at its best. The entire water tank was jacked from grade level, utilizing a special synchronized jacking process. Basically, this EWT was built from the top down, while TC erection crews worked from grade level. For this project, Tank Connection supplied the site-work, foundation installation, tank fabrication, tank installation, mixing system, lightning protection, cathodic protection and additional scope items for a complete turnkey project. Even though the jobsite received excessive rainfall during construction, the project engineer stated, “Tank Connection was responsive and the project was completed on time.” In fact, from receipt of contract to tank completion, Tank Connection finalized the tank project in 119 days. TC’s collaborative team approach was vital to the project’s success.
The elevated “poster series” is available utilizing a bolted steel pedestal. The bolted pedestal shown utilizes high quality RTP (rolled, tapered panel) construction, which is the leading bolted tank design in the industry. Tank Connection’s coating systems are factory baked-on to a substrate surface that has been blasted to an SP10 (near white) surface profile. The coating system utilized is LIQ Fusion 7000 FBE™, which is the top performance coating system for potable water storage. Tank Connection is the exclusive provider of this system and maintains the only powder coat line “certified” to apply this coating for bolted water tank applications.
Poster series tanks are available in sizes from 50,000 up to 350,000 gallons. Composite pedestal designs are available from 200,000 up to 2,000,000 gallons.
