HCD Multi-Flow is a concentrated re-liquification product using the most innovativechemistries available in liquifying heavy tank sludge or residual oil found in storage tanks or pits. Specifically effective in waxy and asphaltene laden crudes

HCD Multi-Flow is also designed to re-mediate petroleum based compounds such as heavy oils by replacing the lost volatile fractions with temperature resistant molecules which do not vent easily. The product is organic in nature with no catalyst poisoning. The product produces a long lasting effect of creating flow able crudes without wax reformation.

Ultrasonic's may be utilized.• Calculate total amount of HCD Multi-Flow required to perform tank cleaning based on volume and type of sludge.• Perform sludge analysis to determine total percentage of available hydrocarbon in sludge deposit.

• The water/oil mixture is sent to a small holding tank where the oil is skimmed off the top with

an Abauaki Skimming Unit or equivalent into an oil tote. Residual oil will be absorbed by the

“Oil Sponge”. The oil free water is tested and allowed to discharge once water specifications are met.

Vapor Suppression:Vapor suppression inside the tanks is an essential part of tank cleaning techniques. Vapor

suppression is achieved by HCD Multi-Flow which brings LEL’s to BDL within minutes of spraying the product inside the tank ready for cleaning. All the tanks, whether fixed roof or floating roof, will have volatile hydrocarbon vapors accumulated in the upper clearance of the tanks. The vapors are hazardous to men and potentially explosive.

Conventionally, the tanks are allowed to be aired or ventilator exhaust fans are used to

circulate the vapors out of the tank. The exhausts are placed on the tank roofs for ventilating the tanks.

Safety and Fire Fighting:Fire extinguishers and suitable fire fighting equipment will be placed at various locations

throughout the tank cleaning site.

“No human entry” is the key to the safety of this system. This means that personnel are not exposed to hazardous substances. Constant monitoring for hydrocarbon vapors and vapor oxygen levels will be monitored to ensure oxygen levels stay relatively low with no ignition opportunity. The HCD Multi-Flow product was used to perform safe and effective tank cleanings in a fraction of the time required using conventional cleaning methods.

The No Entry tank cleaning method with HCD Multi-Flow product reduces sludge viscosity and allows rapid and effective separation of the tank sludge into three production streams while ensuring no personnel entry and a highly efficient hydrocarbon retrieval system.

This system maximizes extraction of saleable oil from the sludge in the tank bottom in a rapid and cost effective manner.

Tank TV-1-2264• Tank TV-1-2264 is a 10,000 barrel oil tank in the Jose’ Colomb tank battery storing a light to medium hydrocarbon crude. • The tank diameter is 13.74m with a height of 10.71m and has a fixed roof. The sludge is composed of 79m³ of hydrocarbon, 15m³ of solids based on samples. • Typical clean up time using conventional methods on this tank in the past have typically taken 14-16 days with a 70% hydrocarbon return.• A single nozzle system along with .25% (based on volume) of HCD Multi-Flow was used for this application, which took 2 days to set up, 2 days to clean the tank and 2 days to demobilize the system. The tank itself was only out of service for 2 days.

Results:
