What are the codes and conventions of music video?
The codes and conventions of music video very, depending on the genre for example in rock the music video are usually performance based and might have a narrative in it as well. In rap they usually have dancing girls and it is sometime a performance based. In most music video have a star image who is either the band or the artist and mostly through the video it always goes back to artist.
How powerful (influential) are these videos?
The most influential video was Maccabees – Pelican I thin the lyrics and video meant something compared to most of the other songs on there. I think that the least influential video on the list was Beastie boys – sabotage I think this because their video was just to take the mick out of cop TV shows and has no real impact to influence.
