TASK-1-Eco-Frinedly Ganesh

Members of Street Cause VBIT made a Ganesha Idol out of news papers to support the use of Eco-friendly Idols on the occasion of “Ganesh Chaturthi” i.e. 28-August-2014 in the college campus. We thank all our donors and volunteers for extending their helping hand.

TASK-2-Lunch Drive at Orphanage

Street Cause VBIT has conducted a lunch drive at AMMAVADI orphanage in boduppal on 2nd October, 2014. Noticing that there were no proper amenities in the orphanage, SC VBIT has provided the children with 1 ceiling fan 2 emergency lamps 10 blankets. We thank all our donors and volunteers for extending their helping hand.

Awareness Day 2014 (task 4-13)

Street Cause VBIT has successfully performed Awareness Day all over Hyderabad. Each department has done two tasks each; on the whole ten events were accomplished. Women Empowerment: 1. Theme : Save Girl Child Description : Volunteers interacted with the patients in Govt. maternity Hospital, Koti and spread awareness on “Save Girl Child” theme. They have advised various suggestions to pregnant woman through which the mother could keep the child healthy. 2. Theme: Eve-Teasing and Sexual harassment. Description: Volunteers rallied against the idea of Eve teasing and sexual harassment against women in the form of an awareness drive by holding placards near Prasads IMAX.. Social Impact:

1.Theme: Drunk and Drive Description: Volunteers have conducted an awareness drive on the above mentioned theme at khairatabad signals by holding charts and placards. They have interacted with the public in that area to show them the harmful effects of “drinking and driving”. 2.Theme : Swach Bharath Description: Volunteers have performed the glorious task of „swach bharath‟ near NTR gardens to demonstrate the idea of “clean India” and to create an awareness amongst the public. Environmental Issues: 1 Theme: Door to Door plantation Description: 200 samplings of plants taken from GHMC were planted in different homes in the area of Domalaguda by the volunteers. An awareness drive was performed on how our environment could be saved by planting trees. 2. Theme: Energy Conservation Description: Volunteers have conducted an awareness drive on the theme “Energy Conservation” in Panjagutta Circle by holding charts and placards. Old age homes and Orphanages 1.Theme: Malaria prevention and Nutrition. Description: Volunteers have performed fitness activities in “Arunodhaya” orphanage in Yapral, Balaji Nagar. The volunteers have educated the residents of the above mentioned orphanage about Malaria prevention and Nutrition. Mosquito pads were distributed in the orphanage. 2.Theme: Cleanliness and Sanitation Description: Volunteers have created awareness on the above mentioned theme by holding charts and placards in “capbowl” orphanage located in Shanthi Nagar. Education 1.Theme: Career Guidance Description: Classes on Career Guidance were given by the volunteers to the residents of “Grace Orphanage” located in Sainikpuri. Basic awareness in Computer technologies was taught as an additional event by the volunteers. 2.Theme: Illiteracy Description: An awareness program was done on Literacy by the volunteers outside Secretariat by holding charts and placards. We would like to thank all our volunteers for making this event such a huge success.

TASK-14 -Hamara Hyderabad The members of Street Cause VBIT initiated a cleanliness drive named "HAMARA HYDERABAD - we clean, we care " on 9th of November,2014.The event was wide spread over eight different localities across the city. All the participants assembled at “Jalagam Vengal Rao” park at 7:00 A.M and then were segregated into 7 different teams. Each team went to a particular location and initiated the cleanliness drive there. The prescribed locations are as follows: 1.Alpha hotel. 2.Kapra. 3.Fever hospital,Nallakunta. 4.Jubilee Bus Station 5.Nelophar 6.Dilshuknagar 7.Jalagam Vengal Rao Park. The event received good media coverage.

TASK-15-Blanket Distribution: The members of Street Cause VBIT initiated blanket distribution drive on “Christmas Eve” .The places covered for the

event are stated below. Secunderabad Station Keys school Rathifile bus stand St Marys church and surroundings. The event took place in the night between the timings 2330 hours-0130 hours. A total of 200 blankets were distributed during the event. We thank all our volunteers and donors for extending their helping hand, Here are some of the pictures clicked during the event.

TASK- 16 : Awareness Program on Swine Flu and Other Diseases

The members of Street Cause VBIT conducted an awareness program on swine flu and all the

other diseases that were prevalent in Aushapur village , Ghatkesar on 1st of February 2015

A survey was conducted in the village to analyze the general health problems the villagers

encountered.

TASK -17: General Health Camp and Eye Check-up

A General Health camp and Eye check-up was conducted for the residents of Aushapur village,

Ghatkesar.

Around 200 people were given free treatment for general health problems and were given free

eye check-up. The eye check-up was conducted by the doctors of Vasan Eye Care, Dilsukhnagar.

The general health check-ups were conducted by doctors from Sharada Devi Hospital,

Sainikpuiri. The residents were given free medicines for their health problems.

Task – 18: Women Empowerment (Awareness Program)

An awareness campaign was held on the eve of International Women’s Day i.e. 7th of March

2015. The theme of the campaign was ‘Empowerement of Women’. The women of the college

both students and faculty were asked to share their views on the position of women in our

society. This campaign was held in the college premises of VBIT.

Task – 19: Hamara Hyderabad Phase-II

The second phase of ‘Hamara Hyderabad’, a cleanliness initiative by Street Cause VBIT was

conducted on the 8th of March 2015 between 8 a.m and 11 a.m. The members of SC VBIT took

up sweeping and cleaning of the busy streets around Fruit Market, Kothapet.

Task – 20: Donation Day

Street Cause VBIT reached out to the students of their college to lend a helping hand to the

underprivileged by donating old books, newspapers, old clothes and monetary funds.

The students of VBIT came forward and donated their belongings for the cause. The collected

material will be distributed on the 15th of March 2015 to various orphanages.

SC VBIT FUNDRAISERS.

Fundraiser 1:AUTOMAAC Photoshop Workshop. Photoshop workshop fundraiser was done in collaboration with the mechanical branch association of Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology i.e.; “AUTOMAAC” . This was the first ever fundraiser event

taken up by Streetcause VBIT in second half of 2014 . The basic theme of this workshop was to explain “Graphic Designing using Photoshop” and was undertaken by a student professional. This inter-college workshop was conducted for two days (17-september-2014 and 18-september-2014). Many students from different colleges participated in this workshop and made it a huge success. The total fund raised from this workshop was Rs.10,000/- given below is the event schedule:

Fundraiser 2: Diya Sale

A fund was raised by selling diyas on the occasion of “Diwali” festival. All the money collected

from this fund raiser was used to educate a child for an entire year. This fundraiser took place at Daffodils Café on 21-10-2014 and 22-10-2014. A total amount of rs.9200 was raised from this event.

Fundraiser 3: The whole of SC VBIT started raising a fund and it is still under process. The amount collected up till now through this fundraiser is Rs.15,350*

NEWSLETTERS SC VBIT released its first news letter on 29-August-2015. The event was presided over by chief

guests like Principal (VBIT), Vice Principal (VBIT), HOD-MBA Dept.(VBIT)
