Today's Game Premier Divisi on
Tayport v Sauchie
Welcome to the Canniepairt for today's game against the Premier League leaders.
Sauchie manager Fraser Duncan (below) will be hoping it's 9 wins from 9 league games after today as the club try to gain promotion at the first attempt after being unfortunate to be relegated last season in the playoff against Lochee United.
Sauchie have plenty of fire power up front with no fewer than 4 different players scoring hat-tricks already this
season and have 12 different goal scorers in all games.
Players who have scored hattrick so far are Ian Diack (2), Josh Flood, Darren Cumming, in the 4-1 win at Brechin Vies in last week's junior cup tie, and top scorer Brian Morgan who is
currently recovering from a broken leg. Sauchie started life as a juvenile club and won the Scottish Juvenile Cup 4 times in the 1950s. They turned junior in 1960, winning a couple of minor cups in the 70s and the Fife & Lothians cup in 2004. More recently under Fraser Duncan, Sauchie won back to back promotions, winning the South Division and East Premier League titles in 2011 and 2012.
Notable former players are of course Alan Hansen, his brother John (Partick), Joe Craig (Partick & Celtic) and Jim Wallace (Dunfermline). Ex-Celt George Connolly also played for Sauchie before hanging up his boots.
Port player manager John Ovenstone is available again after suspension and will be looking for a win to close the gap at the top of the table.
Manager's Memo·
Hi and welcome to today's game against Sauchie
First I'd like to welcome Sauchie manager Fraser Duncan , his staff and players to the Canniepairt. Sauchie have set the bar high in the league this season, having won every competitive match to date which is a credit to all at their club.
The pressure will be building a bit on their lads, as the longer they are on this unbeaten run, the more determined the opposition will be in trying to take that away from them.
We are no different and our lads would be buzzing when that fixture came out last Saturday night , as were the coaching staff. These are the kind of games you play football for and let there be no doubts about it, Fraser will have his side prepared and ready for us as he is the kind of guy that takes nothing for granted.
The last 2 weeks has been a massive disappointment for us. First of all going down 2-0 to Glenrothes and then losing by the same scoreline in the Scottish Cup away to Blantyre. This defeat was especially sickening as that cup has a lot of history here in Tayport and to go out at that an early stage is a massive dent for all involved at this club.
The performances over that 2 week period were lacklustre to say the least. After the massive effort the players put in against Forfar , going down to 10 men early on and still winning the game, we definitely took our foot off the gas a little. But that has to change today as this will be our toughest test to date.
This afternoon we welcome back young Keiran Conway from holiday, I will be back from suspension and Connaire Connolly and Marc Ogg, both missing last week, will be back in the squad. With the exception of Sergio Alvarez who has an ankle injury we are at full strength which is pleasing for a game like this.
I hope you enjoy the game which has the makings of a cracker.

OUT IN OCTOBER Tayport' s Scottish Cup campaign was over before it really got started at Blantyre last week. "A team to be feared", noted our last programme, yet in reality that was hardly the case. Regardless, we shot ourselves in the foot by losing a goal after only two minutes and never recovered.
It's only the second time we have been eliminated in October and the first time we've ever been knocked out of the cup without winning a game or indeed even scoring a goal in the competition.
A dark day indeed! So, Blantyre Vies join Shotts BA, Hurlford, Petershill and Tranent on the short list of clubs Tayport has pla yed and never beaten .
It was a day on which 'Port missed the una vaila ble John Ovenstone (suspended), Kieran Conway (holida y) and Sergio Alvarez (injured) but there were po sitives with local youngs ter s, 16 year old Struan Christie and 17 year old Grant Paterson, doing well on their Scottish Cup debuts.

.
It has certainly been a disappointing couple of weeks for Tayport , with the last two road trips culminating in 2-0 defeats . Prior to the visits to Glenrothes and Blantyre , 'Port had been on a good run.
Last time out on the Canniepairt , there was a hard-fought win against Forfar West End, all the more impressive given that most of the match was played with ten men. Player-boss John Ovenstone received his marching orders after half an hour, for a reckless tackle .
Tayport produced a brave performance , capped by a Dale Reid wonder-goal , midway through the second half. David Geekie picked out Reid , wide on the right, and he unleashed a screamer which flew past the West End goal ie for what proved to be the winner .
The following weekend , 'Port travelled to the Warout in confidence , but Glenrothes won the Fife derby with a goal in each half. Stephen Forbes finished a neat move just before halftime , to give the hosts the lead. The same player scored from the spot , on 65 minutes , after a spell of Glens ' pressure and there was no way back for the lacklustre visitors.
So, three East Premier League points
Junior Cup duty , against fellow threetime winners of the national competition , Blantyre Vies.
The home team made an ideal start at Cast le Park, when centre-half Peter McMahon bundled the ball into the net from close range, following a corner kick. The rest of the half was fairly even. Stuart Walton , Alan Tulleth and Liam Ross had efforts for Tayport , while Steve Higgins hit the post for Blantyre .
Gavin Sorley denied Higgins at the beginning of the second half , but it was not long until Vies doubled their advantage . Keiran Coleman rose highest , to plant his header into the back of the net, leaving the Canniepairt outfit with it all to do.
Bidding to get back into the game , Alan Tulleth won a 72nd minute penalty, but 'keeper Law saved Jamie Mackie's effort . Then substitute Dale Reid was foiled by Law and Blantyre finished the match on top, leaving Tayport somewhat dejected by the cup exit.
Another tough encounter is in prospect today, with high-flying Sauchie out to preserve their 100% league record. Let's hope Tayport can rise to the challenge .

Bonnyrigg won the tie of the round , 2-1 against Cove Rangers, Linlithgow were beaten 3-0 by Stirling Albion, Beith beat BSC Glasgow 1-0 at Alloa Athletic's ground and Banks O' Dee drew 2-2 with Formartine. Former Tayport player Paul Thomson scored Spartans' first goal in a 2-0 win at Huntly . The 3rd round draw involving junior clubs is Bonnyrigg v Dumbarton , Beith v Morton and if Banks O'Dee win their replay, they will play Annan Athletic or East Stirling. The recent Central First Division match between Lesmahagow and Neilston has been ordered to be replayed after the ref blew for time approximately 9 minutes early despite both sets of players officials and fans complaining , with the home team leading 3-1. Lesmahagow stayed on the pitch but the Neilston players went off and by the time the refrealised his mistake , Neilston players were changing and refused to finish the game . Lesmahagow are appealing .
